Level[edit]

I'm pretty sure this parameter is meaningless now, because doesn't the pet's level always match the ranger's level? I haven't actually played a ranger yet, so I wanted to confirm this before removing it from the template. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 21:56, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Locations[edit]

I'm going to remove these from the infobox. To make them useful, we have to list both the zone and the sub-zonal area (whatever we're calling that now), and that just doesn't look nice when squashed into the infobox. An additional benefit of listing them in the article is that we can use a tiered bullet list to consolidate multiple locations in the same zone, i.e.:

  • Zone
    • Subzone
    • Subzone

And there's no artificial limit to the number of locations we can list (where the current infobox only has parameters for 5). Simply put, an in-article list is better in every way. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:03, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Actually, I think I'll replace them with a single region parameter that maps to an actual region. The data we have so far on pet locations indicates that this is a single-valued parameter - i.e. pets found in Ascalon are only found in Ascalon. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:11, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Too wide of a page[edit]

I'm running my resolution at 1440x900, and this infobox is still making the page wider than my screen (there's a horizontal scroll bar). It's the only infobox that does so. Could someone look into the code? It's far beyond my skill. Thanks. 154.20.120.2 21:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

This has something to do with the icons displayed in this infobox. When you take a look at the Juvenile Eagle.png for example you will notice a lot of whitespace. The infobox is designed to take this into account. So a part of this picture will go over the right edge of the screen which should result in always haveing a horziontal scroll bar regardless of the resolution you choose. - Yandere Talk to me... 22:01, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Soulbeast Archetypes[edit]

How would one go about adding and linking pet archetype into the pet infoboxes? It would be helpful to not have to visit Soulbeast#Pet_Archetypes every time. Chrury (talk) 04:39, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

That's a really good idea, I hadn't realised that information was missing. I'm wondering however how do we know that they're called "Archetypes"? That word isn't used ingame.
When we do, the code in the infobox could look like this:
;[[Archetype]]
:{{#if: {{{archetype|}}} | {{#switch: {{lc:{{{archetype}}}}}
| stout      = {{effect|Stout (Archetype)}} ''(Toughness, Vitality)''
| deadly     = {{effect|Deadly (Archetype)}} ''(Condition Damage, Precision)''
| versatile  = {{effect|Versatile (Archetype)}} ''(Vitality, Concentration)''
| ferocious  = {{effect|Ferocious (Archetype)}} ''(Power, Ferocity)''
| supportive = {{effect|Supportive (Archetype)}} ''(Vitality, Outgoing Healing)''
}} | ''Unknown'' }}
As an aside, I think we need to add the soulbeast skill given to the player when they merge too (but not to the infobox, to {{pet skills}})

Nice.
"Archetype" is used in the Soulbeast reveal video here [1] and in the description. Also on the PoF specialization page here [2]. Ebelek_Eze is of no help here. >_> Chrury (talk) 16:34, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Alright I think I've implemented your request as originally described :) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:36, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Kudos. Only annoyance now is there isn't an official icon for 'outgoing healing' (for Supportive). Should we use Healing Power.png and just link to the Outgoing healing redirect? Or perhaps use a text "%" just for this box? Chrury (talk) 21:07, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

Unique pets[edit]

So due to some confusion with where certain pets go in relation to their family, the discord decided that certain pets that are pretty much their own "family"(ie pets that do not share skills with any other pet other than themselves) will be grouped as "Unique family pets" until at some point they are not by themselves. These pets are as follows: Sharks, Armorfish, Rock gazelles, Bristlebacks, Smokescales, Ibogas, and Jacarandas. - Doodleplex 22:40, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
