Template rename[edit]

I'm thinking about renaming this template to Collection item or Achievement item to better convey what it does. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 20:17, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

How about "Collection achievement item"? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:03, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
It feels redundant to me to have both "collection" and "achievement" in the name, and also it's quite long to type. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 16:46, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Change template to extend achievement template[edit]

I believe, this template should extend achievement template. I mean it should display category same like achievement template.

  1. We display category for achievement, so why it shouldn't be displayed for item from achievement?
  2. We have related achievements with collection items and with just achievements, it should be displayed same way

example:

Related achievements

Last one should show "Flashpoint" category, since Expensive Taste shows category and writing only Sprouting the Druid Stone would give as category. Collection Achievement, should give as more information, not different information. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hiperon (talkcontribs) at 19:29, 22 February 2023 (UTC).

Something like User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox2?
If we did this change, would you adjust the example to only have 1+2, plus 4?
(use your imagination to update my example above). If not, would it not make more sense to indent the related collection achievement item?

It does have more sense! Only think I would change, would be actually not using the "collection achievement" part, more like

Related achievements

But Element of Empire with picture and text like you show (otherwise we double the "Sprouting The Druid Stone") Hiperon (talk) 09:22, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
Some thoughts from my side:
  • First, I fixed the format to make it more readable and adjusted Hiperon's example directly above.
  • No offense, but you treated the easy and obvious case so far. What about the tricky part, for example the following collection item is part of three collections (and has no hint): {{collection achievement|Machined Staff}}
    • Your suggestions would be fine for one achievement but would lead to a repetitive and redundant format for more than one, namely:
  • Also note that the template is currently used as * {{collection achievement|<item>}}, namely with a manual bullet infront. In order to keep it consistent with other templates like * {{achievement|<achievement>}}, it should be still used that way, however this makes it kinda tricky to properly implement a sublist in a correct way. --Tolkyria (talk) 19:22, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
