Where exactly did this information come from? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Pony Slaystation X (talk) .

The art book.-- Shew 23:19, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

What was wrong with simply porting the content for this page from "Ronan's Refuge"? --Santax (talk · contribs) 23:39, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

As shown on that page's talk page, we don't know if it is the same place. Best to be certain before having to revert later. -- Konig/talk 00:21, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Is the Grove now confirmed? I'd say the new trailer dispels any possibility that "Ronans Refuge" is a different place from the Grove--Evil guy563 19:30, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

yep-- Shew 19:40, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

"it was their graves on which the Mother Tree was planted". The GW1 Wiki - Sylvari page says "The tree was planted by Ventari and Ronan". I guess it should be changed to the "they planted it" version. And btw i guess they did not founded the Grove becouse they were dead before the Tree started to grow and give life to the sylvari. I assume the first sylvari founded the Grove. --Rodane User Rodane signature.jpg 23:07, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

It's taller than the characters in GW1 so it was grown partially. - Giant Nuker 23:25, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
The original place and the tree was founded/planted by Ventari and Ronan, it was a "young" tree (large though) in the time of Eye of the North. The Grove as it is in GW2 was not founded by Ventari, though one could say that the place was simply abandoned (if it was without inhabitants) after Ventari's death. For all we know, Ehrgen may be still alive and have lived in the Grove since EN's time. -- Konig/talk 03:50, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Rodane: "their graves" refers to Ronan's family. Also, yeah, the Firstborn are the ones who presumably founded the Grove. --Santax (talk · contribs) 13:15, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh, i see. Thanks. --Rodane User Rodane signature.jpg 14:29, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Didn't we see the tree doing the mission that involved saving the chosen? Amanda(: 20:24, 16 May 2010 (UTC)IcyyyBlue
No... it wasn't even planted then. There was no pale tree during Prophecies. Not that I recall, and if there is... where? -- Konig/talk 00:31, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Main Page[edit]

it still says Ronan's Refuge Zachariah Zuan. 14:16, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

No it doesn't :P. Pling just synced it. --User:Nautaut (t) 18:31, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
ah good Zachariah Zuan. 20:15, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

anyone for a "Getting There" section, like there is on e.g. Caledon Forest? Djaquay 01:02, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Tiny?[edit]

Is it just me or does the people look really tiny or is the grove REALLY huge?--♥Icyyy♥ 04:21, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

It's the capital of the sylvari. Capitals are usually huge. -- Konig/talk 04:57, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh cuz those sylvari were really tinyy--♥Icyyy♥ 04:59, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm quite certain that your characters aren't going to "shrink" or "grow" based on location, so naturally it would be the latter. Like Konig said, capital cities are (typically) very large, and judging by the concept art, the Grove will be as well. --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 16:07, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

GWW[edit]

I don't really see the point of having a GWW link, considering the page it is now linked to has next to no information on it, and doesn't really contribute anything to this article. I do agree however that the link is more accurate than Arbor Bay, but I still don't even think it belongs on here. EiveTalk 03:17, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Because it also appeared in GW1. It doesn't have to contain as much or even more information than this article does. --Naoroji User Naoroji Golem - Green.jpg 08:46, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Ronan[edit]

Why put an internal link to Ronan on this page when Ronan get's redirected to The Grove? I suggest either removing the link or setting up a page for Ronan, I think there's enough to write about him, there are a lot of pages with less information on it. Malice 20:16, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

No need to make a page on Ronan, it should be an inter-wiki link. The information on him should be there. Gonna do that now. -- Konig/talk 21:12, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Avatar[edit]

Anyone else just feel like this reminds them of the movie Avatar? Tree living spiritually attached creatures? anyone? <---Neji was here---<<< 04:43, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

If this reminds you of Avatar, you should see the blue Sylvari. -User Eive Windgrace Harbinger of the Deceiver.png 05:28, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Nothing in Avatar was original, BTW. Trees having spiritual importance and even having related creatures (in one way or another) goes back to various mythologies. Particularly Celtic, which a lot of sylvari background seems based off of (alongside Arthurian stuff). Konig/talk 15:07, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Map completion reward research[edit]

As of today's 1 hour stress test, map completion resulted in a Black Lion Key, 1 Bronze and 1340 Xp --Ras 22:12, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Bug Privet Gardens access?[edit]

On the second level from bottom, (Reckoner's Waypoint level) through the Gardenroot Tunnel access: If one stays forward and to the right is a dead end, revealing a twilight sky beyond. The mini map says Privet Gardens, and as of yet it seems there is no access to this area, or perhaps it was discarded. In any event, one can slip outside the programmed map area through the far corner of the dead end, and explore a little bit beyond (behind the map clippings, watch out you don't fall into the abyss). It appears there is a tunnel just on the other side of where a pair of Silvari are digging, that leads off into the area labelled Privet Gardens.--98.232.38.251 05:10, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

"The Grove" should be "the Grove" while in mid-sentence.[edit]

I started changing The Grove to the Grove after talking to Laille, and then had a moment of "maybe it's supposed to be The Grove, like The Hague?" and so I started changing the Grove to The Grove. But now I feel silly, because the opening in-game quote is "Sylvari awaken in the Grove and consider it their home". D'oh. So now I need to go around and lowercase "The" when it's in mid-sentence. (edit: typo fix!) --BryghtShadow (talk) 16:45, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Locations[edit]

Hey, I just wanted to tell you that there are many NPCs, Dialogues, and even POIs, that aren't listed in their right Area (really confusing city). I just don't know if I should put a "stub" on every single page or how to handle it else. Best regards--Aylia (talk) 02:51, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Feel free to edit their location to the correct ones, both on the NPC article and the area page. Do you perhaps have a list of those? —Ventriloquist 14:50, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
