Scrap and stash reward count[edit]

  • A number of Twisted Watchwork Shoulder Scraps
  • A number of Scarlet's Secret Stashes

Does anyone know how the number is calculated? I think it's X stashes per wave (where Aetherblade/Molten also counts as a wave) or X*10 scraps, but I am not certain. Nolanlemahn (talk) 00:14, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Working backwards, it's probably N stashes or N * 10 scraps, where N is 2 + # of Waves Completed. The number of champion loot bags also decreases.--Relyk ~ talk < 02:43, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
I find that if waves one and two are done but both objectives of wave 3 remain unfinished I get 30 Scraps or 3 stashes. Waves one and two are 2 waves of minions and one reinforcement which suggests N is number of minion and reinforcement objectives completed. Therefore I believe it is indeed as Nolanlemahn states. --108.90.122.215 19:02, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Just Confirm.....[edit]

To be clear, to beat the invasion and get Scarlet to spawn, we need to beat all three waves of invading minions and not the additional guys she calls in for support. In a nutshell, we only need to do Minion events to get her to spawn. Please confirm or reject.

After this has been confirmed, we need to make it VERY clear on the page because a Lot of ppl are running around doing the wrong events. User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 12:08, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

You need to defeat both minions and aetherblade/molten. Plenty of times, the minions finish before the aetherblade, yet the meta will no progress until the aetherblades are dealt with. As for what to do in the events, the minions are by kill count and the aetherblade/molten are by event count as a dev stated in the GW2 Forums. I think we may need to update the "Tip" under minions to be more accurate about this. --Thervold (talk) 15:23, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

zone history[edit]

This is useless. It's obvious that there's no set pattern (Frostgorge was up 3 times in 4 hours last night, no sane person would define a pattern that way), and if we continue doing this, the list is going to be stupidly long by the time Sept 3 rolls around. I propose we remove it or at least move it to the talk page or a subpage. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:34, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Agreed. Listing the areas that have appeared so far might be useful, as well as (if it's possible with the API) designing a template that will help players know which area is currently active, but I doubt the history has a place in the main page. -- User I Elite Starchild I Monk-tango-icon-200.png-Alarielle- (talk) 12:49, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
We already know the list of 13 possible zones:
  1. Gendarran Fields
  2. Harathi Hinterlands
  3. Lornar's Pass
  4. Dredgehaunt Cliffs
  5. Timberline Falls
  6. Bloodtide Coast
  7. Sparkfly Fen
  8. Mount Maelstrom
  9. Fields of Ruin
  10. Blazeridge Steppes
  11. Iron Marches
  12. Fireheart Rise
  13. Frostgorge Sound
So we can put that on the page. As far as knowing which one is currently active, you can see that in-game, and there's only a 10-minute window where it's really useful before you can't get into an active overflow anymore. (Right now, at least, every server fills up quickly and basically remains full for the duration of the event.) I don't see that being a very useful feature, either. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:03, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
I use this page to check and see which one is currently happening, if i need that map, i log in and get it. So documenting the current map is nice, but i agree, historical ones have no value.--Moto Saxon 14:10, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
That doesn't mean we shouldn't keep track of the events.--Relyk ~ talk < 15:21, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
Historical does have value, since the devs have stated that each map will happen at least once per day, up to 3, with most being 2. So knowing if your map has come up 3 times already means you can stop looking. Piccolopete (talk) 20:57, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
I don't like the idea of using this page as a "current" tracker either. That's going to require someone edits it every hour on the hour, otherwise the usefulness is lost. Seems like that would be better suited to a reddit thread anyway, where you'd have a much larger audience and a much larger potential contributor pool, and the posts are automatically timestamped so you don't have to worry about time zone miscalculations. (Can you sticky threads on reddit? Because this would be a perfect candidate for being stickied over the next two weeks.) —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:44, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
In the absence of any strong counter-argument, I've moved the historical list to a subpage. This way it's still there for anyone who cares, but it's not cluttering up the main article. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 03:43, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I guess this is worth mentioning - that the rotation is not completely random and every day at the same time it's a different zone. Don't know how to word it shortly, however... MalGalad 12:41, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Interesting, and it actually makes the history useful. I've created a Google Spreadsheet (anyone with link can edit) to tabulate the invasions and possibly predict what the zones will be on the last day of this release. Unfortunately we had a massive gap yesterday where no one updated the wiki, so unless that can be filled in somehow, this may end up being useless anyway. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 16:29, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

I wanted to add the event ids to show which maps the event is currently active on, except there are 13 unique events for the invasion, one for each map, and it would be active on all worlds more or less the same time. Is there a way to add all event IDs, or is there a better to do that? 130.86.168.106 16:01, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Started making a map by map tracker at my talk page. Piccolopete (talk) 20:30, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Is Scarlet a "wave"?[edit]

Does defeating Scarlet herself in the final event count as a 'wave'? If not, does this mean the reward is the same regardless of whether she is defeated or not? Thanks in advance. --Combatter (talk) 10:16, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

The final reward is the same if all three waves have been beaten, but Scarlet herself grants a bonus chest with two Rare (gold) items in it. Although that's limited to once per day, just like the World Boss bonus chests. User I Elite Starchild I Monk-tango-icon-200.png-Alarielle- (talk) 17:14, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I remember getting the bonus chest now. I have added some info to the page. --Combatter (talk) 00:04, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Tracking Maps[edit]

Is there any way to see a list of the maps where we have stopped portal invasions? Other than witing them don/remembering? Looking to complete Invasion Canceller, "Stop Scarlet's portal invasion on 13 different maps." and am at 9/13 with only a slight chance of remembering the ones I completed. Separ (talk) 23:35, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Asking around in game the polite answers all seem to be no.Separ (talk) 01:52, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
To add insult to injury, there is also a 'bug' where completing a map won't necessarily give the achievement. Killing the clockwork champions is supposedly directly connected to event completion, so concentrate on those if looking for an achievement. Timing?[edit]

These start once per hour, I believe. Can anyone confirm? And also, do they always start on the hour? It would help to know to be able to get in before the overflow.

The start around the full our +/-10 min as far as I have seen it - Yandere Talk to me... 19:16, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Anyone know the new rotation time since the living story ended? The page needs to be updated now. 110.175.205.112 23:28, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Scarlet's Minions Invade!/history, we can continue tracking on this page.--Relyk ~ talk < 00:08, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
