Talk:Mistlock Sanctuary
Low gravity theme[edit]
The low gravity has a few weird consequences besides the notes. If you fall off the floating islands (or run out of glide time, or deliberately jump, or ...), you do not die. Instead, you bounce up and down and eventually reach a stable altitude a few feet below the main "street" level. You can then drive your character around and explore below the bridges, behind the rocks, and so on. Gliders will reach a maximum altitude and then not ascend further. That altitude is below the tops of the tallest things in the zone. You have an "extra" skill on the eleventh key (like the Ley Magic ones in Bloodstone Fen's instances) that functions as a "leap to target point" skill. Cynique (talk) 12:28, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, and it is possible at present to end up *inside* the scenery when using the leap skill. Cynique (talk) 12:32, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
- That sounds cool! You should add it to the article. Could you also confirm if the source of the low-gravity is from Cosmic Energy? I can't check for myself. --Idris (talk) 16:04, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
- I think the "inside scenery" thing is a bug or glitch, frankly. It was mostly frustrating rather than cool. For the Cosmic Energy thing, no idea. All I know is that it happens. Cynique (talk) 13:04, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- I was responding to your first comment when I called it cool, but the glitchy scenery would still be important to mention. As for Cosmic Energy, it's an effect that will appear on your effects monitor, so it's pretty easy to check for its presence. :) --Idris (talk) 13:28, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
- Found evidence of Cosmic Energy on Dulfy's video. Also found evidence of a cool bouncing ball game on this video! I've added all the above information to the article, but again, as I can't check for myself, verification is requested. --Idris (talk) 13:01, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

Exit and arrive at what location?[edit]
When you leave the area where do you end up? Do you end up at the site that you entered from? Separ (talk) 04:16, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- Depends. There is a big portal in the middle that will take you to the capital cities, to Lions Arch, or to the Lion's Arch Aerodrome, and I think maybe some other places. There is also a normal asura gate that I haven't tried. Does it have one of those "exit area" clickables like you see in instances? Cynique (talk) 13:11, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
According to this post, there is no means of simply going back to where you were. Other than using the portal, I guess you could go to the PvP lobby or use a Guild Hall link. No Waypoints are accessible. I think a comment to that effect should be put on the main page since I believe this is different from other passes.

- Confirmed. (That wasn't me citing the forum.) There is no way to return to where you were previously. The portal in the centre goes to the capitals, Lion's Arch, and the Aerodrome, and that's it. There's also an Asura gate to the Mists, or you could use a pass to go to one of the pass areas (Captain's Airship, Lava Lounge, etc.), or a portal scroll to go to those areas. But it's in an isolated area with no way to access the Waypoint network. Cynique (talk) 15:08, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
Blue Marble[edit]
I can confirm that there is a blue marble in the Mistlock Sanctuary. It is the same one from the lvl 100 fractal, shattered observatory, and it bounces on you across the map. I don't know where it goes at this moment, we can't seem to get it to go the whole distance without falling. 24.198.186.104 04:47, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

- There's been a few videos online of groups managing the 'puzzle', after which it offers a set of free-flying skills when you get an 'up' and 'down' option to move upwards or downwards. Basically you get to actually fly, and not just low-grav jump/glide. -Darqam 05:08, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
- I added the specific details to the page, and also took the time to add the specific skills and effects you get from completing the game and interacting with the orb. Orenwolf (talk) 08:42, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding that info. I see you changed the name from "blue marble" to "glowing ball" -- is this its actual ingame name, or just a name you preferred? I ask because I'd like to create an article for it to record its dialogue, but I need confirmation on the name first. --Idris (talk) 08:52, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- The object has no label when you interact with it, but upon further research search there's a Shattered Observatory achievement with the text "Bounce a single globolla marble on your head eight times in a row." based on this, should we assume that is the actual name? Orenwolf (talk) 09:00, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Maybe. Are there any clues in the dialogue text? The dialogue in this video refers to it as an "orb", though that was after it started glowing. I don't have a source for pre-glowing dialogue, if any. --Idris (talk) 09:02, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- I'm fairly certain that dialog is the only reference to that object in the sanctuary. Even the triggering object has no label. Orenwolf (talk) 14:34, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you for checking! I propose we name it to "Blue Orb", then -- "globolla marble" isn't terribly descriptive and technically only refers to the Fractals version, whereas "blue orb" accurately describes both of its appearances. --Idris (talk) 16:26, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Great! I went ahead and made the change on all relevant pages (I think!) Orenwolf (talk) 17:15, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Great work! Unfortunately, as soon as I went to create the page, I discovered that Blue Orb is taken already, lol. Serves me right for not checking first. Normally when two objects have the same name, we simply add a clarification in parentheses, but I don't feel that would be appropriate in this case. I suppose we'll have to call it "Globolla Marble" after all. --Idris (talk) 17:23, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Music[edit]
Did anyone mention the 3 exclusive musical themes that play here? They are awesome! --Funky Jah (talk) 22:52, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
City[edit]
So what evidence do we have this is a city? For all intents and purposes it is a lounge. Pact commander speed buff doesn't work there either. --Life Infusion «T» 03:27, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
- It is labelled as a city because we currently do not have any infobox type for "Lounge." Can be easily fixed though so that all lounges can use it (but not by me, sorry, idk how to do that!). ~Sime 03:33, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
- I don't like it either, but it's how every other "hub zone" is labelled as, including Eye of the North and Lion's Arch Aerodrome.
- I wouldn't go with "Lounge", since some lounges are landmarks and others are their own zones. I think "Lobby" would be the perfect solution.--Lon-ami (talk) 12:01, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
Where am I..?[edit]
It would be handy if it were possible to see where your character will be upon leaving MS from the character select screen, for example it could say Mistlock Sanctuary (Queensdale)...
No big deal, but I'm always leaving them in MS then can't remember who was where.. iyswim... :P Honnaja 14:16, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
