Zhaitan and Demons...[edit]

Maybe I'm thinking too hard about this, but the Eye of Zhaitan and Mouth of Zhaitan don't resemble any living creature that Zhaitan could have claimed for his army, so does this imply that he had control over certain Demons as well? I'd ask a dev on Twitter, but I feel like I've asked too much from them already. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 20:40, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

I've always assumed that such creatures were effectively Frankenstein monsters. In Ossuary of Unquiet Dead, you learn that some risen are created out of stitched-together body parts. Eyes of Zhaitan specifically are mentioned as being ex-Kings and Queens of Orr, and if you look closely at the model, you'll see a human corpse reaching over the top of the eyeball. --Idris (talk) 20:50, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
See, that's what I thought originally as well, but with the Hall of Chains release (as well as the releases since the original Personal Story) I realized there wasn't really an explanation as to how Zhaitan could make a giant eyeball out of the humanoid remains of Orrian royalty. When PoF and Hall of Chains released, we had both Eater of Souls (raid and story) sharing a model with the Mouth of Zhaitan and they also brought back the Eye of Zhaitan models to use, and part of me feels that just cannot be a coincidence. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 13:44, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
The Eyes of Zhaitan at the very least are neither demonic nor frankenstein creatures. They're normal human bodies who's skin has been stretched around points of an anchor-shaped object and holding a giant eyeball (the literal eye of Zhaitan) which has the dangling optic nerve below it; the eye doesn't seem to be part of the risen itself, due to how it shifts around on its own as if dettatched but held. The Eyes of Fate and Judgement lack the human aspect that the Eye of Zhaitan has, being just a giant green eyeball.
The Mouth of Zhaitan appears to be in a manner akin to both Plague Carrier Abominations, which are abnormally large norn (as in giant sized) and Risen Knights which have their flesh warped to become more draconic, including turning their feet into claws (I'm still not sure if the draconian/goat-like head and wings are warped human flesh or grafted on). I don't think its meant to be a demon. Konig (talk) 14:01, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
