Talk:Back item
What upgrade component (gem etc)can be used in the upgrade slot? Micro
- Good question, I am still experimenting myself. But perhaps someone has done more research on this topic than I have. - Yandere 16:43, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
- The level 33 quest reward back item can ONLY take a level 1 gem at the moment. I couldn't put anything in it till I tried one of the +3 gems with no level requirement. That worked. Seems like a bug which should be fixed. 71.34.38.134 20:14, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
You can place an "orb" on a backbrace. The orbs are all level 80. You can find them on the trade post. They won't fit on the level 30 quest given backbrace. Micro
--Remember, if the Back item isn't required level 80 to use, it cannot accept a level 80 upgrade component. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by KellionBane (talk) at 11:43, 11 September 2014 (UTC).
Acquisition of backbraces[edit]
Is the only way to acquire a backbrace with stats through the personal story and if you selected the wrong one, then its tough luck? I can't seem to find anywhere to craft them or buy them or get them from drops other than the 2 personal story quests. (edit: forgot to sign) --CAJOS talk 17:47, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
You can aquire them through a guild armorer for level 35+. Micro
Trading Post, type in "Spine Guard"--58.166.43.67 02:41, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
You can buy Lucky Great Ram Lantern (exotic) from trading post and it has different stats to choose from. Someone should add this to the main page please. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 197.157.220.54 (talk) at 10:30, 30 April 2015 (UTC).
Visible or invisible?[edit]
This has gone unnoticed to me until now... lol... so wait... is this like GW2 cape or, just, it doesn' t show and looks like an inventory icon only? CaiusTheBig 14:55, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'd take it that, like shoulders and head, this slot's gear can be hid or shown. I'd guess that most capes and cloaks haven't made it into game yet, and so we haven't seen them a lot. Mediggo 14:57, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- I've seen no evidence of cloaks or cape things in the game at all, the slot got renamed in bwe2 to "back" and there are statted backpacks with a gem slot from the guild armourer for levels 35,60 and 80. Coltaine 18:25, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- While assuming that it looks cool to see guild emblem also on engineer's backpack, i' have to admit a backpack looks wierd when worn by each and every other character class. And i remember from last beta there were 2 slots i didn t use, the backpack slot and the "unknown" slot.
- Hopefully you ll be able to wear alternately backpack or cloak.
- I ll make sure about this and take some screens of the ui in 2 days, if i manage to remember to do so. CaiusTheBig 22:47, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Quiver[edit]
A quiver with purely cosmetic/visual arrows would be nice for those who love the longbow/shortbow, but hate to shoot arrows out of "somewhere behind my right shoulder"... 145.33.38.22 12:32, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- Talk pages are about discussion about the page and its contents, not how awesome the thing they are about is or to make random comments about the things we want. Also please do not sign as and link to a user (or random page) that does not exist. You can use the "Show preview" button to preview the changes you have made. I suggest you make up your mind about what you want to say BEFORE you repeatedly modify a talk page to change your random off topic sentence. --zeeZ (talk) 12:39, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

too much specific information on this general-purpose article[edit]
In particular, the Acquisition section. This page's purpose should be to give a general overview of the equipment category, not to list out how to obtain all the different individual items within said category. —Dr Ishmael 05:26, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- Agreed. Also each specific item page might warrant listing of back items as non salvageable. Most people are going to look up a specific item before back items in general, if at all. And wont see that they can't salvage. Twinkletoes 07:21, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

- Need something better than that... I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out what kind of back items are available, especially at 80, and what I want to focus on getting. I just purely by accident discovered you can craft ascended back items without ever doing fractals. O_O (No, not just the new light of Dwayna) Rose Of Kali 23:18, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Gallery of back items shows you all the ones that actually have an appearance. You can craft Quiver of Swiftness or There with Yakkington: A Traveler's Tale where you can pick the stats you like. . There's also the exotic karma backpieces which come with a prefix as indicated by the trinkets column. Psycho Robot (talk) 00:10, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Damage[edit]
Can anyone confirm that back items take damage like armor? I don't think they do Elementalmen (talk) 20:45, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
- They do take damage. However, they're not shown in the window with schematic view of armor, when you hover icon in the bottom right "corner" of HP globe. MalGalad 20:48, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Four or Five?[edit]
In the vendors section of aquisition: "There are five stat combinations available, depending on the temple: Soldier, Cavalier, Rabid, and Magi."
Is there a fifth type of back item, or only four instead of five now the change was made about Magic Find stats? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 91.125.52.158 (talk) at 14:58, 11 November 2013 (UTC).
Missing the ascended recipe's from the mystic forge[edit]
Well the quivers and tomes seem to be missing... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.27.103.117 (talk) at 11:03, 29 January 2014 (UTC).
- It's somewhat hidden in the middle of the list, but there is a link to Mystic Forge/Equipment#Backpieces. —Dr Ishmael 13:34, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Because it's not true[edit]
First, thank you Mora for including a short explanation with your revert. Can someone please provide examples of back items available to be equipped before level 35 that are not one of the Crafter's backpacks? ~ 1Maven (talk) 22:49, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- Mad Memoires Toymaker's Bag Spinal Blade Pack
- Backpack Straps have no stats but allow you to wear a backpack skin. —Dr Ishmael 23:01, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Feedback 2016/12/15[edit]
Did the chinese new year ram and monkey backpacks get removed from this list? I cannot find them --72.188.29.122 22:41, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- You're right in that they're not here, as far as I know they have never been added though. This page is also missing Heart of Thorns backpieces, of which there are many. I don't know if the current format is sustainable to be honest. -Chieftain Alex 23:31, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
No Jewels in Back Items[edit]
As of the date posted, back items don't seem capable of slotting jewels. Do I need to wait for a consensus to edit the page itself? — Stormsage (talk) 15:54, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Worked for me. Could you mention which backpiece(s) and which jewel(s) you have tried? Note that not all Exotic-rarity backpieces are level 80, e.g. crafting skill backpieces such as Elegant Jeweler's Backpack (level 78). - Ojimaru (talk) 16:33, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
Table of stats?[edit]
Where is the table of generic stats for back items? I can't find it here, and back items aren't in the armor page, either. Daddicus (talk) 00:02, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
Feedback 2019/12/04[edit]
The table was much nicer than the way it is now for the dungeon back items. Currently it's an eye sore. Can it go back to the nice way instead of the eye vomit? --108.35.88.183 17:42, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- I don't really like the colour classes either. Previously it wasn't a table though, it was an ugly list. As a compromise I will remove the colour classes. (might also change the rarity text to be without the rarity template) -Chieftain Alex 20:22, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Previews[edit]
There is a wiki page about items which are not previewable before being unlocked, but where do other non-owned back items get previewed? The wardrobe sections for all weights of armour have no section for back items. Vana Runedottir (talk) 08:11, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure what you're asking, could you please elaborate?
- We have Wardrobe/Back items for links to all the back pieces, List of hidden skins#Back item skins for hidden ones. -Chieftain Alex 13:27, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
Missing[edit]
