I thought it would be a good idea to bring my family out here, I couldn't have been more wrong.

When Zhaitan rose from Orr, I knew we'd never be safe in a big city. I'm from a long line of huntsmen that have ranged the wilds of Tyria for years—I wasn't about to let something happen to my family.

My father grew up in Shaemoor, but my family's originally from Ascalon, descended from the line of Aidan—a man who helped save our world long ago. He and Zho set the standard for what our people should aspire to be.

I believe learning from the past is the best way to adapt for the future. Those two helped take down Shiro Tagachi. They stopped Nightfall. They did it all. If they can did that, why can't I?

How is that going for you?

It was going well. And then I lost my family. Now I find myself questioning every decision I've ever made in my life.

This forest is perilous. Before the White Mantle arrived there were the centaurs, then the explosions from the west...and the ghosts that followed. I should have never come here.

Perilous indeed.

But I was stubborn. I refused to leave. Then we were out gathering in the forest when... Well, as you can see, it's just me and my two pets now.

Centaurs. Those blasted centaurs. They took everything from me. So I killed one of their leaders and took a relic of his as a trophy. A token for all that I've lost.

Does that really make you feel better?

Of course not. It's just a trinket. But it symbolizes something more—that I did not allow my family's death to pass in vain. Now, with White Mantle everywhere, I feel—rudderless. Without purpose.

Help the Seraph. You have a lot of supplies that could be put to good use.

Assuming I can maintain control of this area on my own, I would be more than happy to help out where I can. My house—my forest—is all I have left now.

You can use it to access the secret path below my homestead. I try to be prepared so I had plenty of those keys made. The key opens a chest deep below that contains some of my more valuable possessions.

But why give it to me?

You helped me. If I've learned anything recently, it's that I need to give back more. That, and I booby-trapped the path down so well that I can't even get down there myself anymore!
