I tell you, this is the hardest lookout duty I've ever had. You gotta keep one eye on the sky for the dragons, one eye to the north for ogres, and one eye across the river for the humans.

Aren't the humans at Foewatch supposed to be your allies?

Foewatch. Huh, not even a proper fort. Rocks and tree branches. Splintercrest is a real fort, the Iron Legion's finest work. Sticks and stones may break some bones, but iron will sever an artery.

Aren't there downsides to an all-metal fort?

In winter, some of the new arrivals can't resist licking the walls. They learn their lesson quick. And if anyone accidentally fires a rifle inside it, it can ricochet for hours.
