Full Circle is the fifth story step of What Lies Within, and requires the Commander face their most important mission yet - a triple dinner date.

Walkthrough

Read the letter from Rama.

Waypoint to  Promenade Waypoint — at Kaineng docks to speak with Taimi and Gorrik. Pick an ally to bring on your dinner date.

Speak to your dinner date:

• Ayumi -  Arborstone Waypoint — : At the southeast exit to Echovald Wilds.
• Canach -  Club Canach Waypoint — : Down the stairs to the right of the bar with Winn Schwartzmeier. He is in a room with a fireplace.
• Yao -  Lutgardis Plaza Waypoint — : Over the river to the east and up the stairs towards  Sunjiang Lab — . They are standing on the same platform as the upper gate to the lab.

Return to New Kaineng, this time choosing  Ministry Ward Waypoint — . Take the zip-line south of the waypoint to ascend to the Soojung Heights, and then head for Red Duck Tea House.

Inside the instance, talk to your date, then head inside the dinner venue and sit at the table. At a point in the dialogue, Taimi will whisper you on her communicator to cause a distraction to dig Rama out of a hole he's trapped himself in - pick any of the three new skills provided.

When the dialogue wraps up, choose the Ask for the Check skill to trigger the last dialogue, completing the instance. The skills Chow Down and Sip don't affect the story outcome.

Rama A Favor Hey, Commander, Long time no see. Got a favor to ask. Since we're done dealing in demons (thank gods), I thought I'd give the whole Red Duck Teahouse get-together another go. Fine, I'll level with you. Truth is, I ask Min to dinner at the teahouse. But the closer it gets, the more I worry I'll screw the whole thing up. For as much BS as you all drag me into, I think having a few friends there would help things go a lot smoother. Gorrik and Taimi have already agreed to show. If you wouldn't mind swinging by for a bit, I'd appreciate it. Hopefully see you soon, —Rama

Gorrik: Such a good idea! She's very nice!

Taimi: And her plumage is just gorgeous!

Gorrik: Commander! Perfect timing. You read Rama's letter?

Taimi: Luckily, he has us to back him up. Gorrik and I will be there to help. Although, we were thinking...

Gorrik: It might be nice if you also had someone to bring with you...

<Character name>: Oh?

Taimi: Since we're pressed for time, we decided to take some initiative, and...

Gorrik: Reached out to some local friends to see if they're busy tonight.

<Character name>: You didn't.

Gorrik: Don't worry, Commander! There's no pressure whatsoever. We're just there to have a good time and to help Rama.

Gorrik: All right, Commander. You have some fine choices here. Who will you bring?

<Character name>: Shall we?

Cancel your plans. You're having dinner with me tonight.

Canach: I thought you'd never ask. Already picked out my suit. What do you think?

<Character name>: Looking very sharp.

Canach: Naturally. Sorry about your poor friends, though.

<Character name>: Poor friends?

Canach: Well, we're obviously going to upstage them. Look at us. We're stunning.

<Character name>: (laughs) Let's knock 'em dead.

Sunjiang Lab (if you chose Yao)

Yao: What can I do for you, Commander?

Can I get your help again, Yao? There'll be sushi this time!

Yao: Yeah, Gorrik said you might need some backup... I'd be more than happy to help you. And Rama.

<Character name>: He really needs it, doesn't he?

Yao: For being so confident most of the time, Rama sure does get awkward when Min comes up.

<Character name>: Nothing wrong with a little awkwardness, so long as we steer him clear of total disaster!

Yao! It's great to see you without a crisis involved!

Yao: Ha, no kidding. Don't know if I've seen you NOT yelling and waving a weapon around.

<Character name>: (laughs) You any good at making small talk and waving utensils around?

Yao: Hmm, that's a lot of pressure. But I think I could handle it.

<Character name>: I'd like to see that. Meet me at the Red Duck?

Yao: Absolutely. Wouldn't miss it.

Arborstone (if you chose Ayumi)

Ayumi: What can I do for you, Commander?

Ayumi! Great to see you! I have a favor to ask.

Ayumi: Great to see you too! Gorrik says you need a dinner date, hmm?

<Character name>: Well, I don't know if I'd call it a date, exactly...

Ayumi: Sure thing, Commander. I'll be your wingwoman. Get it? Wingwoman?

<Character name>: Heh. Yes. Yes, I do. Have any more jokes you can tell me on the way?

Wow, your feathers, stunning! Any chance you'd join me at the Red Duck?

Ayumi: Ah, these old things? Just a few hours of preening. Good thing Taimi let me know you were coming.

Ayumi: Of course, I can't compete with your sense of style. Maybe you can give me some fashion tips sometime, eh?

<Character name>: (laughs) I like to have options. I have to cover all those battle scars.

Ayumi: (laughs) Got some good ones? I bet mine are better!

Canach: But a change of scenery does the entrepreneurial mind good. As does company of your caliber.

Canach: I could say the same for you, Commander. You pull off the whole "badass with a noble cause" look flawlessly.

Yao: Shall we, Commander?

Yao: No rest when you work for Xunlai. Especially with the new Jade discovery. We're just getting going on research.

Yao: After some surprisingly amicable negotiations with the Brotherhood, I have to say. But I won't bore you with work talk.

Yao: I do? I don't know if I feel refreshed. But you're looking a lot better too!

Yao: Um, not that you looked bad before, but...you know what I mean. Heh.

Ayumi: Don't mention it, Commander. It's been too long since we've caught up.

Detective Rama: Commander, over here!

Min: Well look who it is. It's been a while, Commander. Glad you both could make it.

Taking a seat

Gorrik: You look lovely, Taimi!

Taimi: Oh, Gorrik, this is what I always look like!

Gorrik: Well...exactly.

Taimi: Oh, stoooooop. I mean, you can also keep going, but...ya know, you're not so hard on the eyes yourself.

Gorrik: Oh? Oh!

Waiter approaches

Waiter: You people again! Do you know how long it took me to clean up your confetti last time? I find it in my dreams!

Waiter: We do have a "no-seat" list, you know, so try acting civilized. Or your name will be right there next to Park Chul-Moo!

Canach: Canach. Namesake and visionary behind Arborstone's famous Club Canach. Positively charmed.

Min: Minister of Security Min.

Canach: Are you named after the ministry, or is the ministry named after you? You're with the authorities?

Min: I am the authorities. Though I don't get out to Arborstone much.

Canach: I wouldn't recommend it. Nothing to see out there. Boring, really.

Canach: Who's hungry? Waiter! What must a person do to get service around here? This would never happen at my establishment.

Yao: I'll have to ask him about that...

Yao: Minister of Security Min. A pleasure.

Min: Keeping your nose clean these days? Bit different than your time with the Brotherhood...

Detective Rama: Yao is good people, Min. The best. Saved my life. More than once.

Yao: Or at least my mech did. (laughs)

Detective Rama: I said I was sorry! Where is Finn, anyway? I owe him a drink!

Min: And how about something for you, Yao? Like sushi?

Yao: A lot more than Rama does.

(If you chose Ayumi as your dinner date)

Ayumi: Minister Min! Pleasure to see you!

Min: Acting Minister, technically. Leader Ayumi, is it? Seems we both fell into our jobs.

Ayumi: Good point! Although...your title's officially unofficial. And mine's unofficially official.

Min: I...I'm not sure if... What?

Ayumi: We're going to be great friends! We have so much in common! So, when's the food coming?

Waiter: Here. You may want to at least try it this time. The Lover's Maki takes twice as long to prepare, you know.

Min: Huh? I thought you hated sushi?

Detective Rama: I do. It's just that last time I thought you might be stopping by, so I ordered it because...it made me think of you.

Min: Sushi made you think of me? Because you hate it?

Detective Rama: No, no, no—

Min: Is this heart shaped?

Taimi: (fake coughing)

Gorrik: Although anatomically incorrect. Min, did you know the actual shape of the human heart resembles a closed fist?

Min: Oh... That's... Huh...

Taimi: Pssst. Commander, do something! Get us off the sushi topic.

Upon causing a distraction by Point in a Random Direction (chose skill option 1)

<Character name>: Hey, what's that over there?

Detective Rama: Believe that's a wall, Commander.

<Character name>: How strange. Swear I saw Empress Ihn walk by.

Taimi: Me too! How bizarre is that?

Detective Rama: Extremely.

Min: She's overseas right now. Didn't you hear about her visiting Divinity's Reach?

Gorrik: We haven't kept up with the news for the past few weeks.

Upon causing a distraction by Break Your Glass (chose skill option 2)

<Character name>: Wh-whoops. How clumsy of me.

Waiter: Are you kidding me?

Canach: A dolyak in a jade shop, this one. Graceful on the battlefield, yet so little finesse when it comes to the finer things.

(If you chose Yao as your dinner date)

Yao: Maybe we need to have Minister Min here investigate the caffeine content of this tea and see if it exceeds regulations!

(If you chose Ayumi as your dinner date)

Ayumi: Oh, heavens! I hope you didn't get any stains on that fine outfit. I know how much fashion means to you.

Ayumi: In fact, I've always wanted to ask: Do you have the largest wardrobe in all of Tyria?

Upon causing a distraction by Bust a Move (chose skill option 3)

<Character name>: Does anyone else suddenly feel like dancing?

Detective Rama: Absolutely not.

Waiter: Excuse me; this is a teahouse, not a dance club. Would you please refrain from flailing about? It's a safety hazard.

Waiter: The way you go about it, yes.

Taimi: Don't sweat it, Commander. Your moves are great! Some people are just allergic to fun.

Resuming the dinner date

Min: So...anyway... Rama tells me you're doing PI work these days?

Gorrik: That's correct! We're pioneering our new detective agency and just wrapped up our first case.

Min: That's neat! What's your agency called?

Detective Rama: Uhhh—

Gorrik: Actually, I wanted to bring that up. I got a little ahead of myself with the agency and filing the paperwork and...

Gorrik: Well, I chose "Friends' Detectives" because it was an agency founded by friends and it made perfect sense...

Min: Oh.

Gorrik: But when I stopped and thought about it, I realized that me picking the name for us misses the whole "friendship" part.

Gorrik: Then I got another idea. I ran it by Jory, and she loves it! But I'd like your input before I proceed with it, Rama.

Detective Rama: Let's hear it.

Gorrik: Brim and Scarab. See, the "Scarab" is an obvious homage to my love of beetles. And the "Brim" refers to your hat.

Gorrik: I also proposed "Big Hat Detectives," but Jory was concerned the name wouldn't be taken seriously.

Detective Rama: I...I really like it. It's got sort of an old-timey feel to it. In a good way. And it's really thoughtful.

Min: It's classy. And sweet. “Rama here. Brim & Scarab's on the case.”

Detective Rama: I'm sold.

My story

“ What a dinner to remember! On rather short notice, Rama invited me, Gorrik, and Taimi to join him and Acting Minister Min for an outing at the Red Duck Tea House. I suspected that Rama may be gearing up to pursue a romantic relationship with Min; his invitation confirmed it. Gorrik and Taimi "helpfully" reached out to a few of our local friends so I'd have a partner for the occasion. While I don't know that this was entirely necessary, I will admit I had a great time. More importantly, Min did too. Apart from a few hiccups the date went well, and it sounds like this may be the start of something wonderful between Rama and Min. As for me, I come away from the experiences of these past several weeks feeling...lighter. I supposed that comes with the territory when confronting one's demons, be they metaphysical or metaphorical—or some unsettling mix of the two! The process of healing isn't instantaneous, but gradual. With consistent work it becomes more bearable, until one day the pain is the exception. It may never go away completely, but when something is that impactful in your life, perhaps it's best a piece of it remains with you—a reminder of how far you've come and all you've been through to get here. — My story
