While her post was rather aggressive, I think her anger at the situation is understandable. Most of us would probably react similarly if our usernames got taken on GW2W by someone else, which is presumably the whole reason Anet ported over the user database, except that wound up screwing over Entropy in this case. Yes, she could have asked politely, but I doubt Entropy was aware that you've reformed, so it probably never even occured to her that you might honor such a request. So here the rest of us are, making the request on her behalf. If it makes you feel better, don't consider it helping Entropy; consider it helping those of us who want peace and love and harmony on this new wiki, and helping yourself. You lose nothing (since using the Entropy account would almost certainly bring a lot of heat from the community down on you), and you gain that much more credibility. The wiki at large gains a valuable contributor and avoids bad feelings among a merger of three communities that weren't on altogether friendly terms in the first place. It is up to him whether or not he wants to follow rules from another wiki. It is not up to you. They aren't actually rules, and because they aren't actually rules, you can't jump all over his shit for not following them. If he wanted to follow them, he would.

In this case, he didn't. I happen to agree with him, but that doesn't make his actions any more or less justified; without policy, every sysop is expected to act for the benefit of the wiki. Banning Raptors for posting phishing links, for example, is a benefit to the wiki. I understand from your posts that you don't give a shit about the wiki as long as policy is obeyed to a T; I'd suggest you help craft policies that incorporate "common sense" (as you said on IRC), so following them actually helps the wiki more than hurts it. -Auron 05:26, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

(RI) There are no official policies actually set in stone atm, but I feel the use of excessive sockpuppets or sockpuppets regardless is unnecessary and disruptive. I will take the above messages regarding banning, etc. as a warning to the main user account, User:Cursed Angel, and the fact that he is not a new user to wiki. The socks will be perma-banned and the main account I will leave untouched for now as there is no history of this type of behavior from what I have seen on this wiki or GWWiki. — Gares 14:03, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
