True... but in Spanish, A and K both rhyme, but they're pronounced "Ah" and "Kah". --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 22:39, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I found that when I was playing Guild Wars from a flash drive in my campus computer lab because my computer was broken. For some reason, whenever I started the client for the first time in a session (or each time I started it? I can't remember), it'd generate a folder with symbolic jibberish for the name, with the template folders inside. One of them had this symbol and I kind of liked it, so I copied it over to my sig. I have no idea what it means, lol. --ஸ Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 17:02, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Boo[edit]

(I don't feel this should be on main page edit) I know you're right. I'm not trying the "but he's doing it too!" More so the pay attention when one's not and it's obvious. I don't feel the "be bold" is being allowed either, just reverted back to old changes, because new ones aren't liked and it's not discussed until after several reverts as to why, which to me isn't right either. So, wwud? I hate being called that I'm doing things in "bad faith" when I'm not the one quoting others and dissing them. It's just he should look at his own messages, before being a royal pain the .... well you know. It's just irritating and I can see why so many don't get along with him and why he jumps to get rid of people as to me that stuff is troll stuff. It's just depressing me... when you have ignorant people like that...
Kudos to the copyright stuff being copied to here, more policies are needed... I can quite see why I hardly participate, when I do - you end off having a few that are what I call "team breakers." Off to watch a movie, maybe things can be settled by an admin. Ariyen 03:10, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Just don't give him a response like you're doing. Eras is pissy towards a lot of people (and pisses a lot of people off) but when you hit back you're just feeding drama, and Dwayna knows we don't need more of that around here. Don't break policy to try to win an argument, because you'll just get on the admins' bad side too. Just cool off and talk it out.
From what I'm seeing of Eras' argument, he's saying there's already a link to the FAQ on the editcopy, and you keep adding it somewhere else. If this is referring to the FAQ for the wiki, that's linked to from the left side of every page on the navbar, below "support". If it's for something referring to the game, then it's not linked to from what I can tell. So tell me what's up. --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 15:23, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for your copy edit. I can get all of the ideas together okay into an okay structure, but sometime I really can't get the ideas to flow properly. So thank you... :) -- Aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 06:00, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

boo number 2[edit]

I guess in all honesty I'm in your place? After all, you were advocating for a page to stay that's practically similar as this one (on fire being kept for noobs, while noobs is deleted) and the one you advocated for got deleted. We allow some speculative pages, but delete others. No wonder people would get confused. Despite that it (on fire) was used in the first place was rather puzzling. Seriously, all one did - was what should have been done in the first place - link on fire in skill pages to burning (better yet, move burning to on fire?). I advocated, because well what shouldn't of been there, shouldn't be. If people don't know about the page in the first place - how would they search? If they clicked on the link from a skill - which would be more so the way I can see it going. the link they'd see was burning. Basically, someone "clipped"(skill page) the "middle man" (on fire) and directed it straight to "source"(burning). Secondly, they wouldn't search from the wiki, I hardly search for certain words, because as usual.. a wiki's search never shows the newest first or most recent. Most searches on a wiki gives me 2 years back results. Most searches on a search engine, gives me newer results. I don't see someone doing wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/on fire. I can see them search it via the search and it'd give results, plus the actual page that is used for on fire. So, why should it really be kept? When there's not much benefit? Same with noob? Just to help? When it's not beneficial? If users complain they can't find "on fire" I can see it being put back, but why should it stay if all skill pages linked to burning and on fire is technically burning? I think it's ignorance of being kept. Might as well bring noob back for those that'd "search" for it and not look on Wikipedia. Seriously, some people need a reality check. 72.148.31.114 04:30, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

I might just be tired at the moment (college life, etc etc) but you have me utterly confused about what position you're taking. Mind giving me the tl;dr version? -- Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png 07:23, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I think Ariyen's saying either delete both on fire and noob or neither (please sign in, btw). Difference is, Ariyen, that one is a redirect and the other isn't, and for noob to become a redirect it would have to redirect off site to wikipedia. Uhm, I also think that this should have stayed on the Talk:On fire page because that is what you posted about, it only seems slightly directed towards kyoshi. Posting here just split the conversation to several different pages Thering 12:56, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I did think it was strange that the IP posted in Ariyen's section. I've made my point on that talk page so the conversation on this page doesn't need to continue. -- Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png 16:23, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I didn't feel like signing in then and I don't now. I'm just saying it'd be plausible... After all, redirecting noob to an offsite (as we have links in pages to wikipedia sites) would help with people who do search it here... It'd solve both issues and help in general. I didn't post there, because my post related both fire and noob and I just wanted to say that being on each side of the fence in each situation can help understand another better. I do thank TheRing for a really great idea. :-) 72.148.31.114 23:41, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Sig testing[edit]

Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 20:17, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Did you want {{GFDL image}} on that image? Saw it was there (sort of), but then was removed. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 20:29, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
That's what it was! Yes. -- Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 23:50, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Hey, did you mean for your sig image to say "kyo" in it? Right now it says "kyu" and the small "yu" is actually backwards. What you want is キョ, if that's what you were going for. :D --KOKUOU 05:55, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
/doh, clearly all-nighters are hurting my mind. Will fix tomorrow maybe. -- Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 06:23, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Theeere we go. Incidentally, does anyone know how I would go about making the background transparent? With only Paint at my disposal, that is. -- Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 23:02, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
I don't believe it's possible on paint, but there are tonnes of free online image editors that should work for you. Pixlr is one example. :D --KOKUOU 00:10, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
I used Gimp. It's free. Ariyen 00:15, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
I strongly recommend GIMP, as it's better than even Photoshop 4 if you know how to use it fully. (Took me a few years to know that, but tranparent backgrounds are basics and stuff. :D) - Infinite - talk 15:20, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
I will third GIMP. I'm not great at it at all, because I don't really use it that much. But the things I do know how to do are easy enough to figure out. Like Infinite said, transparencies are a piece of cake. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 15:25, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
Cool, I will see if it's small enough that I can download and install it in a reasonable time to my external drive. Working on a dorm computer, 'cause my laptop's fan failed or something and I don't have a screwdriver to check, and they don't let you install things on the computer obviously. -- Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 17:34, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

See-through[edit]

Want me to upload your sig icon with actual transparency? - Infinite - talk 14:33, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

I would greatly appreciate it, seems I can't quite figure out the trick. --ஸ Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 00:24, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
There you are. Depending on what program you used to get it transparent, it may or may not have automated setting denying all alpha layers (alpha layers basically stands for transparency). In return, even if you had a transparent background on your program, saving it may have, and possibly has, generated a white background for all transparent pixels. The current version is transparent and I hope it suffices. :) - Infinite - talk 16:06, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
I'm an art noob, so I only have half an idea what would have caused it not to work. Thanks though! --ஸ Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 18:19, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Just fyi, if you do want to play around with your css, it's pretty easy. Just go here, and edit/add this:

#p-logo a { background-image:url(http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/9/9d/User_Saxon_Purple_Variant.png) !important; }

make sure to put in the url of the image you want in the icon area. it should be 155px by 155px. :) --Moto Saxon 14:53, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
