Skil icon template
There is a reason that the ifexists command hasn't been implemented. Once more skill icons are released we can amend the template, but at this time it just isn't a good idea. Venom20 21:08, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
signature icon
Hey!
First of all, I can honestly say I love that image in your signature. :)
Secondly, I think it technically should redirect to your user page or talk page (e.g., when someone clicks on the image, they should load one of those two pages). Unless someone shows up claiming I'm wrong (it happens), would you mind making the image a redirect? If you prefer I can do it; just please tell me which you'd prefer. ;) It seriously does look cool, though.

I did say that I was eagerly anticipating future drafts, but I never foresaw something like that! Thank you for such a unique and beautiful design. I'd love for it to become the main page design, but I fear that we may have months of debate before that comes to pass, unfortunately.
Thanks again. :) A F K When Needed 22:28, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
- You are welcome. Thanks a lot for your comment! Alfa-R 06:49, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
v3.0 1920 x 1080
Hey. :)
I have a request for you. More often than not, I access the wiki on a 23" monitor. Currently, the images on v3.0 stick to the sides of the page, and as a result there's whitespace between the images and the content. That looks a bit awkward. Would it be possible for you to change the code so that the images instead stick to the content on the main page, and the small gaps appear at the very edge of the screen? I think that would look more artistic. If you'd prefer to center them instead or whatever, that's fine. Totally up to you.
To illustrate the point, as I tend to waffle on, I've marked the whitespace in red here. I'd love it the whitespace could be where the red is here. Remembering that the red is illustrating the location of whitespace, not the images, because I'm an awkward moron who does things in stupid ways.
Please? A F K When Needed 14:11, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, sure. I don't have a 1920 resolution on my display, so thanks for sharing. I'll think of how to do this. Also, have u seen a v 4.0? I can try to do smth like that. Alfa-R 19:54, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- Also, what do u think of the official site backgroungs used by Infinite? They are wider and should cover all the space i believe. Alfa-R 21:15, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- V4 is the same, actually. It's not as apparent due to the angular sides of the images. V3 has images with rather straight sides, which make the whitespace more apparent.
- Stupid browsers. Changing the code to
<div style="position:absolute; top:70px; left:2%;">
works like a charm on Firefox, but not on Chrome. Hmm. I'll fiddle a bit and see if I get struck by inspiration. The ones he chose are alright; not my personal favourite, but people like different A F K When Needed 16:01, 18 February 2012 (UTC)- I believe just using wider images is the best solution. I've changed bgs to those from Infinite version, and I really like it (the left one at least), so check it out. Alfa-R 16:17, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
Another change is coming
So I took my paintbrush and paints today, and I'm gonna do something awesome (I hope so at least) with my main page design. It will take some time though. A little spoiler is to be found on the left. Alfa-R 15:57, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, but...
that's not where the issue is. something about the 8th line doesn't carry over right... besides, i only used e-color cos it's more aesthetically pleasing to my eyes as i constantly retest it over and over, and was planning on setting to Any when it finally worked right. At one point, I had it so that it would go make the next line, though replacing tier 8 text with the text of the style option for the next line's effect, while still taking effect... but now it won't even make a new line, and it's giving me a headache and making me want to grab my staff and burn it with fire... ~~ Kiomadoushi 05:45, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- I believe I've fixed it. You were missing a line break before |- Alfa-R 05:48, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- Oh for the love of... i didn't even realize {{!-}} was possible, i thought i had to do {{!}}- for that effect. well thanks, that's it alright. xD ~hugs~ i feel i owe you for your help there... I thought i'd work on a way to display skill tier progression, since i doubt with the knowledge of tiers being every 10 levels, affecting skill effects, they'd stay the same, and we can't show every tier in the Notes only... so was kinda sandboxing a template for it... you think it would work that way? ((i'm not sure if they'll have a set formula growth like GW1 attribute skill progressions, but that would be cool if they did... but for now)) ~~ Kiomadoushi 06:07, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- It looks fine to me, but I'm afraid I'm not ready to answer those questions of yours yet, as I know nothing on skill tier system. By the way, I've noticed that it now has an extra line break in the last row, that should be tweaked imo. Alfa-R 06:11, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- I can't figure out how to make it not move up, and the last time i tweaked with it, the whole page stopped working... check out my working copy below the guardian example to see where it is right now. Once that working copy works great (i realized that version of it will reduce the edit spamming) then that can be copied up to the main template version, removing temp values ~~ Kiomadoushi 07:00, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- Done, I guess. Alfa-R 07:27, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, you sniped me on that last edit, the missing colors xD now to just get wiki'ers attention on the use of this as a template, and implement it to pages... assuming it's workable xD ~~ Kiomadoushi 07:30, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Nice work!
The new icons for conditions and boons are incredibly nice looking. I guess you took them from the recent videos, but the way you made they look is amazing, they have a very professional feeling. Thank you! Erasculio 14:47, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Skill point icon
Nice work on all the icons :) I've noticed that skill challenges that have not yet been completed have the chevrons empty. poor example because there's a dead guy on top of it and the video from whence it came Could I impose on you to create a version of that icon so we can stick it on the world map page? We have locked/unlocked for waypoints and empty/full for hearts atm. Eerie Moss 20:32, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- Here you are (I'll probably adjust it later, it's quite late here). Also, will you need tangoesque hearts, waypoints and places of interest icons? Alfa-R 20:51, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- Cheers! I'll insert them now. Tango icons for the rest of the world map stuff would be awesome as well. Thanks and g'night! Eerie Moss 20:55, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Numbers and headers
Whenever numbers appear in titles in Eason Pro, the numbers are about half the size of the letters (i.e. Guild Wars 2); would you happed to know if it would be possible to make numbers bigger? Aqua (T|C) 23:44, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- ArenaNet doesn't use Eason Pro for numbers. I guess now we witness why this is the case. - Infinite - talk 23:55, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- These are called old-style figures. I don't see a problem with them, though, as they (when presented in font) are usually used within text and replaced with lining figures when used alone like in tables and spreadsheets and also in scientific texts. In fact, some style guides even recommend using this kind of figures. Alfa-R 04:54, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
A little help?
Alfa, could you help me with one thing? I have been trying to add the rather nice gradient you have created for the infoboxes to my own skill infobox template, but I have no idea where to place the code for the gradient itself. I tried looking at your skill infobox template, but since you are borrowing from your css template that didn't work. If I were trying to make a gradient inside a skill box without using the css, how would that code be? Erasculio 11:56, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- This should work:
- <div style="background-image: linear-gradient(top, #eee 0%, #fff 100%); background-image: -o-linear-gradient(top, #eee 0%, #fff 100%); background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #eee 0%, #fff 100%); background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(top, #eee 0%, #fff 100%); background-image: -ms-linear-gradient(top, #eee 0%, #fff 100%); background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, color-stop(0, #eee), color-stop(1, #fff));">
- Alfa-R 12:07, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- The problem is that I'm trying to apply the gradient to the header, just like you have, but there's already a div there:
- <div style="font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold; padding: 3px 8px; margin: 8px 0 7px 0; background-color: {{User:Erasculio/Color|{{{color}}}|medium}}; text-align: center;">
- Should I add your code (from background-image:... to fff)):) after the background-color entry above, before it, or in a different div before (or after) that one? I'm sure I'm sounding like a code newbie, I really have no idea how to do this kind of thing and I usually learn by seeing what other people have done and trying to adapt it to what I need. Erasculio 12:39, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- If u want headers like mine (gradient + noise), that's impossible w/o css afaik as wiki will throw an 'unsafe input' error. If u want an infobox light gray gradient, then replace background-color. Image is always shown on top of color, so you won't see color anyway. You may want to replace colors though (#eee and #fff). Alfa-R 13:02, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, for the records, the gradient I'm trying to get isn't the gray gradient behind the infobox itself, rather the color gradient behind the headers (so here, for example, I'm talking about the orange gradient behind the header for the Daggers, the green gradient at the header for Ascalonian Warrior, and so on). Where would the code for that one fit in? Erasculio 14:02, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

I dunno where is the best place to ask you this but your .css is breaking the recipe template. The first line work (crafting station), but subsequent are split between line. I tried both Internet explorer and firefox and both suffer the same problem. Tech Wolf-Talk 16:24, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
