The Special Combat Airborne Recon team needs to regroup and secure a campsite to gain a foothold against the chak.

    • (defend) Help Vincere Shieldstep find the scattered members of his team.
      • Speak with Vincere
      • Team members found: x/4
      • Vincere Shieldstep: My team's been scattered in the jungle. I need to find them before something else does.

Theyre good soldiers, but you know this jungle... Could use some help finding them.

V: Look at all those bugs swarming. Think they found someone?
V: Gertrude! Still glad you came along for the ride?
G: I'm unhurt, but I'm afraid these insects have me surrounded.
V: Can I assume you won't turn down a little help, then?
V: Lets see about clearing out these bugs for you.
G: Thank you. I wasn't sure how I was going to get past all of those insects on my own.
V: I'm sure you would have found your way out eventually, but I need your help finding the others right now.
Upon approaching Elizia Skysight
G: Oh. Did you hear that?
V: Yea, sounded like it came from the wreckage. Come on!
Elizia Skysight: Hey, is someone there? I;'m pinned under this wreckage!
V: Hang on Elizia! Working on getting you out of there.
E: Thanks. Would have taken me ages to free myself.
V: I'm just glad I found you before the bugs did. Speaking of_looks like they're swarming someone over there.
V: We'd better go check that out. Come on!
Upon meeting Shael and Terrill
There you two are! I was wondering where you went to goof off.
Shrael Backstab: Yeah, right. About time you caught up with us.
V: Touching reunion, but this jungle isn't done with us yet.
G: From up high, I believe I saw a nice, defensible spot for a camp...
V: Hear that? While you two were messing around, our newest teammate scouted us a campsite.

Help the team make it to their camp site.

(repair) Help terrill reinforce the camp with scrap metal barricades and cannons. Cannons repaired: x/4 Barricades built: x/6

Items: barricade site, broken cannon, scrap metal Enemies: Chak zapper, chak lurker, chak zapper, veteran chak slinger, chak drone

V: This site's not bad at all, but it's going to need some defences. Terrill Tinkrclaw: (sigh) Guess I'd better start sharpening some wooden stakes... V: Think bigger. I've seen you pull off miracles before... I'd bet you could build a cannon out of scrap. T: Scrap...? Not a bad idea. Sounds like we've got some salvaging to do. Who wants in on this?

Land mines have been unlocked in the SCAR lane.

Terrill Tinkerclaw is devising a strategy. Stay tuned for more information.

T: Theres scrap all over this jungle from the crash. Bet I could make something from it. T: Sir! Requesting permission to go on an R&D mission. V: If it'll help our situation, permission granted! Vincere: Shrael, go with him. I'll check in once you've had enough time to come up with something.

On getting to the scrap/jumping place

T: Now I just need you to find me all the scrap you can, and I'll get to work on our weapon. S: Wait, you expect me to go fetch your scrap for you? T: Sure. I mean, I just build stuff. You're the sly, dangerous one. T: Just go grab up all the scraps you can find in the jungle around here. S: Oh, is that all? I'll get right on that.

Terrill Tinkerclaw is developing weaponry from salvaged scrap to use against threats to the SCAR team.

Event (collect): Climb up to the chopper wreckage an toss scrap emtal down for Terrill Tinkerclaw.

On finishing the event

T: Nice! I can throw together some weapons from this, no problem. T: There. Told you I could do it! S: I don't know... You sure that'll actually work? T: Course I'm sure. We just need something to try it out on... T: Wait_I brought along some sonic thumper thingies that I made... I call 'em "resonators." T: They thrum a resonance that should drive the local bugs crazy. If we set off enough of these, we can lure a big one here to try out my cannon on. S: So you man your... resonator things, and then I blast whatever shows up? T: Well, no... I wanted to use it. S: So now what happens? T: As long as we keep my resonators running, our target should be here in no time. S: Should just test the cannon out on you...

SCAR Field Operations reached max strength! Mortars have been unlocked in the SCAR lane. Unlocks Drone Race adventure.

T: Did you see that, sir? It worked! V: Nice work. Very nice. Shut down their parade altogether. V: I think I can take it from there. V: Get on back to camp. You've earned whatever R&R we can get out here.

Success! The Mordrem migration has been halted, and the SCAR team is maintaining their position.

E: Now that we've fortified our perimeter, we can afford to take the fight to the bugs_maybe thin their numbers a bit, E: They've got a nest in the cave system under the nearby waterfall. Let's bring the fight down there, to them.

Vekk told the class that if we didn't study for the exam, a **DATA CORRUPTED** would grind our bones to make bread! While I question the tastiness of such bread, I have opted to study.

Dialogue[edit]

Before event

Agent Zildi: If I manually access a terminal, I can set our biometric signatures to read as friendly in the defense matrix.
Agent Zildi: I've equipped that clanking fossil over there with a Class IV Defensive Shield.
Agent Zildi: This should be more than adequate to reflect those absurd ballistic defenses, if we can maintauin power!
Agent Zildi: I've converted the sields to accept ley-line energy. Now we can utilize the conductors scattered throughout the city.
Agent Zildi: Let's get moving
H.O.X.: Rata Novus was created to be the city of the future_today! Only he best and brightest krewes were invited to be residents. The city's existence is a closely guarded secret.

After stopping past the first set of turrets

Agent Zildi: Hm. Maybe I was a little dismissive with that "absurd" comment.
Agent Zildi: If we want to collect that ley line energy, someon's going to have to step out of the shield.
Agent Zildi: I'd volunteer, but I'm what they call "mission critical". I guess that means it's going to be you!
Destroying the ley collectors at the start of the tunnel
Agent Zildi: How fortuitous; the destruction of this node has shorted out some of the turret defenses
H.O.X.: Rata Novus krewes have also been making improvements to both asura gate and golem technology. This unit is an example of the gneus at work within these halls!
H.O.X.: Our latest advance harnesses ley energy. We've accelerated research due to a small chak issue. It's schedule to come online any day now! Such exciting times in Rata Novus.
Approaching Rata Novus Command Center
H.O.X.: That concludes our tour. Please speak Krewe Resources to contunue your orientation, and welcome to rata Novus.

Event start
Agent Zildi: Ah, the Console Room. That wasn't so bad! Now, to force a reboot the old-fashioned wa...
Agent Zildi: It looks like one of those "noncore systems" kept the chak out of here.
Agent Zildi: I need to register us as nonhostile in the defense matrix before I can risk turning it back on.
Rata Novus Central Console: Welcome_to_Rata_Novus's_Central_Console.
Agent Zildi: You can grab another console and help, or keep these chak off my back. Either way, get up those stairs!
Rata Novus Central Console: Genius_identification_number_denied.
Agent Zildi: Argh! We've got to fill in the corrupted data. it doesn't matter whether i's a personal log or a raptor-stew recipe!
Agent Zildi: If we can sort out these garbled archives, it will stop wasting processing power going throuhg them.
Agent Zildi: Then it will send more energy to the central functions!
Rata Novus Central Console: What_are_you_doing, technician?
Agent Zildi: Just type faster and more furiously! These old systems respond to heavy-handed measures!
Rata Novus Central Console: I'm_sorry. I_can't_allow_that, technician.
Rata Novus Central Console: Accessing_fire_wall_controls.
Agent Zildi: Fire wall? That might be what's blocking me. Let's see, what happens if I toggle this program...
Rata Novus Central Console: Thank_you. Fire_wall_activated. Now_initiating.
Agent Zildi: Wrong kind of fire wall!
Rata Novus Central Console: Identification_verified. Welcome_back, High_Councilor.
Agent Zildi: All right! You hear that? I'm the High Councilor of Rata Novus!
Agent Zildi: This place might be overrun with blood-thirsty insects and murderous defense systems, but hey! It's all mine.
Agent Zildi: I've opened a socket into the automated defense mainframe.
Rata Novus Central Console: Specied_"human,"_"norn,"_and_"charr"_recognized. Considered_high_risk, low_intellect. Execute_on_sight.
Agent Zildi: You assume all nonasura are targets? Stop extrapolating, you pile of illogical circuitry! Fine. Let's make this simple.
Agent Zildi: If it's bipedal, then it's an asura. Shoot anything with more than two leg!
Rata Novus Central Console: Protocol_accepted. Bipedal_equals_asura. targeting_systems_updated.
Rata Novus Central Console: All_other_biometric_signatures:_kill_on_sight.
Rata Novus Central Console: Initiating_murder_protocol.
Agent Zildi: By order of your High Councilor, I command you to stop.
Agent Zildi: Uh... Looks like that golem was not impacted by the new protocols. It's hostile! Do something!
D.O.X.: Protocol_received. Preparing_console_for_manual_override.
Agent Zildi: That sentry will never go down if you keep letting golems reach the consoles! Not to mention those wretched turrets. Get rid of them!
Agent Zildi: What the...? They're rerouting energy to the golem's autorepair system, and littering my console room with turrets. Keep them off the consoles!

Protocol_received. Preparing_console_for_manual_override. Initiating_repair_and_turret_protocols.

Rata Novus has reached max strength! Allied Rata Novus lasers have been unlocked in the Rata Novus lane.

That sentry will never go down if you keep letting golems reach the console! Not to mention those wretched turrets. Get rid of them!

Agent Zildi: That seems to have done the trick. The city defenses are now 99.9 percent less likely to kill you!
Agent Zildi: Assuming the system doesn't reboot, we shouldn't have any more issues.
Agent Zildi: What are the chanes of a centuries-old computer crashing?
Agent Zildi: On second thought, don't tell me.
Agent Zildi: Excelsior! The defensive controls are here, just as I anticipated.
Agent Zildi: Ooh, and the power flowing to them is riling the chak up_in a good way.
Agent Zildi: Once the cannons are fully charged, I'm going to introduce Mordremoth to our good friends, the chak.
Agent Zildi: Time to add some vegetable matter to the chak diet.
