Race[edit]

I feel as though Turai's race should be "Construct" because he is a Watchknight. Same could go for many of the enemies in the Crown Pavilion since they're all constructs and not the real deal. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 17:54, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

I think mechanically they are treated as the race they depict, and the "dying watchknight" is in technicality a new NPC. It is worth testing, though. However, I do not see a need to split this from Turai Ossa. There's a slight difference in lore, sure, but beyond that it's just a picture and combat abilities section. We separated Turai Ossa (actor) because it's an entirely different person, and Turai Ossa (Mist Champion) because we don't like mixing PvE and PvP. But this doesn't need that division. Konig (talk) 18:15, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
The other, REAL Turai is a ghost, so I don't think they should be merged. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 03:26, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
They are indeed mechanically treated as the race they transformed into. So the bandits, centaurs etc. are counting towards their belonging Slayer achievements and sigills f.e. for centaurs or flame legion, activate too. Also the dropps are equal to their species/organisation, as if you kill original enemies in open world. The enemies in queen's gauntlet are a bit different to check, because they give no loot and there are no enemies belonging to some sigills, so we could check. Maybe someone can check if the crew of the "Ravenous" count to the pirate slayer, because I've already finished the pirate slayer on both of my accounts.--Aylia (talk) 08:00, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
@Teletric: We have multiple NPCs that have "two races"; granted that in lore they are the same figure, the other gauntlet foes are thus far kept to the same page as who they represent (e.g., Suriel of the Blazing Light and Master of Lightning who are both seen as Watchknight illusions in the Gauntlet and as themselves outside the Gauntlet). Konig (talk) 13:04, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
My gut tells me that having the Queen's Gauntlet replicas sharing an article with their real counterparts doesn't seem right because lore-wise they're different entities from each other, but I can understand it because they are the same visually and the infobox information would be the exactly the same so it saves clutter. However Turai's infobox information would be different solely because he's a ghost. If you think you can make it work with the two races, I'm all for it. Maybe a subscript next to the "Human" race that says "(Replica)" just to make it clear they are not the same. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 18:18, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

(Reset indent) In regards to the infobox "clutter", it would basically be changing this:

{{NPC infobox
| image = Echo of Turai Ossa.jpg
| location = Shallows of Despair
| race = Ghost
| organization = Order of Whispers
| rank = legendary
| level = 80
| release = pof
}}

to this:

{{NPC infobox
| image = Echo of Turai Ossa.jpg
| location = Shallows of Despair; The Crown Pavilion (zone)
| race = Ghost, Human
| organization = Order of Whispers
| rank = legendary
| level = 80
| release = pof
| map1 = Turai Ossa (human).jpg
| map1-text = Turai Ossa as he appeared while alive.
}}

Then it'd just be adding a couple lines in intro, Locations, and Combat abilities sections. Could technically shorten it with an image move and removing the "release = pof". But all that is supported. I'll wait for others to possibly chime in, but the change to the main page would be minimal. Konig (talk) 19:13, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Like the Turai Ossa actor, this Turai Ossa is likewise an imposter. Making the two of them share an article doesn't seem desirable. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 07:46, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
Suriel, Waine, Master of Lightning, and the Ravenous pirates all use one article, as opposed to two (or three, in Suriel's case). No qualms have been made. Was going to merge them soon but since folks seem to dislike merging whereas we don't have the pointless separation elsewhere... Konig (talk) 09:39, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
It would be my preference to split those articles too. Dashface User Dashface.png 10:20, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
I doubt anyone would really care to see the difference between Suriel the human, Suriel the Tier 1 Watchknight, and Suriel the Special Tier Watchknight when searching. It's just needless over-complication, really. Konig (talk) 10:51, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
The two tiers of Watchknight are arguably same being, but Suriel herself fights said Watchknights offscreen. What if there is a Queen Jennah Watchknight opponent next year? It would feel weird to lump that info on the real Queen Jennah's article. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 12:13, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
By that argument, it feels like every foe in the Queen's Gauntlet and crown pavilion down below should be split between a "watchknight fake" and "the real one in lore". Should we split Pyroxis and Chomper between Watchknight and original? Including the Gauntlet version for those few we see "the real one" is just adding a handful of lines, as opposed to making navigation a total mess. Konig (talk) 12:51, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
Would it be desirable to call the article "King Turai Ossa", to further disambiguate the situation? ~ Fishrock (talk) 14:20, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
^No because that wasn't his overhead nameplate, which is what we create pages by. Additionally, I don't see the harm in it being merged, seeing as how the rest are all on the same page. - Doodleplex 14:23, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
Can we meet the "real" Pyroxis and Chomper outside of the arena? I don't think they'd have an article if not for the Queen's Gauntlet. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 14:25, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
We include articles for "lore only" NPCs, which the "real Pyroxis" etc. would indeed be. For example, Frostfang. Currently, the lore NPC and the watchknight are technically merged together, since it'd only be a few sentences for the "real" ones. Konig (talk) 03:35, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
