Talk:Special Collections
For some reason the #ask query doesn't seem to be updating the list as items are added. It works on my user page. Curious. -- MrSmiles 16:32, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- Never mind, hitting the "refresh" tab fixed it. Derp. -- MrSmiles 17:26, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Separate books from other objects[edit]
Would you hate it very much if I separated "books" and other artifacts? I just think it would be nicer for overview, especially as it is a long list already (and hopefully growing). -Laale Kuningatar (talk) 20:15, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- Be bold! Even if we hate it we can just revert it back ;) --Sialor (talk) 20:36, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- That's fine :)) But I couldn't figure out how that template works :/ There is a "type" that is "Book" in some cases and "Object" in others, but the template doesn't seem to use it. Not sure how to proceed from here... --Laale Kuningatar (talk) 23:46, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- Separating by the object type isn't meaningful on a location page. Books are already listed on the book page.--Relyk ~ talk < 05:20, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- I beg to differ... Considering the large amounts of objects within this instance, I personally would find it very meaningful. Also considered the nature of the instance: as a library, I think people would like to be able to look for content per type. Titus The Third 06:38, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- I feel the same (obv.) I'd even go so far and include a smaller list of objects that can be seen but not interacted with, as long as we know what they are (e.g. Zhaitan's tail and that artifact from GW1). --Laale Kuningatar (talk) 09:21, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- There are many locations that have a myriad of objects, such as Scarlet's residence in Dry Top. The location page is not the place for grouping and presenting information about the objects. I would identify locations that have large collections of books on the book article. Zhaitain's tail and the artifact are not objects. Those would be identified as lore articles and linked elsewhere on the page.--Relyk ~ talk < 11:53, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- But... where? Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of keeping things as organized as possible - but if I was in the instance right now and I saw something that I suspected to be a reference (or interesting in other ways), this location page is EXACTLY what I would wiki to find the information. I wouldn't know where else to go for it. So if the information was somewhere else, buried in some lore article, what good what it be? The wiki, after all, is a place to get instant info on things you see in game by typing /wiki <whatever>. And if I don't have know object's name (which is the case for anything that I can't interact with), this <whatever> will be my current location. --Laale Kuningatar (talk) 07:14, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

Name[edit]
Is it called basement in the game? If not I'd say we move it to DP Special Collections.--Sialor (talk) 20:36, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- Checked it for you, the instance name is indeed DP basement.--Dav 20:55, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Tablet translations[edit]
Should the translations of the tablets be here? They exist in Durmand Priory (location) and are most noticeable there. Konig 23:19, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- I agree that this might not be the best location. I propose either
- Separate articles for "Durmand Priory tablets" (e.g.)
- Put NK 'passive objects' like these under sub-chapters within the New Krytan article. Sounded like a decent idea in my head at first, but with all the minor signs and models using NK, I guess it'd just be a mess.
- Put it at Durmand Priory (location), and just refer to it from here: [[DP|tablets]]. Titus The Third 06:28, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
Speaking with Ogden Stonehealer[edit]
I went into the Durmand Priory to speak with Ogden and try to gain access, but he had no dialogue that gave me that option. Is it possible that this is only an option for PCs that are members of the Priory? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Falren (talk • contribs).
- If you can't always get in (or after completing Hidden Arcana/Arcana Obscura), perhaps you need The Dreamer I: The Experimental Short Bow active, as one of the objectives takes you there iirc. Konig 01:56, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
Name Issues[edit]
Having issues find it being called "Durmand Priory Basement" anywhere in game. The instance I enter when I talk to Timble, it's just "Durmand Priory" and in both Arcana Obscura and Hidden Arcana it's referred to as "Special Collections" (reference image). Basically if it was called "Durmand Priory Basement" at one time, it no longer is, and this page should be moved to Special Collections. - Doodleplex 04:20, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- I did The Evening Song (trophy) yesterday for The Minstrel III: The Bard, and the tooltip refers to the Durmand Priory basement. I don't know what the instance itself was called, and I forgot to record Ogden's dialogue. udas 04:32, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- If you talked to Ogden via speaking to Arcanist Timble, than the instance is "Durmand Priory". Also, I just realized that that instance and what this instance is are two separate things, this page is just for the instance that occurs during Living World Season 2, and not the instance which has Ogden, Gixx, etc. - Doodleplex 04:42, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
