Respawn[edit]

Are these only collectible once per day? Does anyone know how many spawn each day? ~ Fishrock (talk) 06:01, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

  • They only spawn once a day and there are limits on how many you can harvest, even between characters. I will try to gather more specific numbers. Lunatic.6134 (talk) 05:14, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
I did a round of harvesting Petrified Stumps today and counted 60 strikes before all nodes disappeared. When I say "strikes", I mean each time the axe hits the stump and gives you experience. I did not get a Petrified Wood on every strike; today I got a total of 21 wood from 60 strikes. There also seems to be a time limit at play, in which you can only harvest a node with a character again after a certain number of hours which is less than 24. I would like more verification on the number of strikes. --Evilsofa (talk) 01:57, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
I should explain why I think it is based on strikes and not nodes. Normally, you get 3 strikes per node, so 3 strikes on 20 nodes would be 60 strikes and the rest of the nodes would disappear on the final strike of the 20th node. However, I was using the Glyph of Bounty on my harvesting axe, which allows me to get more than 3 strikes on a lumber node - 4, 5 and 6 strikes are possible. In this case, it turned out that my 60th strike was on the second strike of a node, and when that happened, the node disappeared and the third strike did not occur. --Evilsofa (talk) 05:11, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
I'm going to more than 24 hours and a daily reset and do another round of harvesting Petrified Stumps to make sure I didn't mess up the number of strikes and nodes due to the time limit per character. --Evilsofa (talk) 05:54, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
You get 50 strikes. That works out to 16 nodes of 3 strikes each and 2 strikes on the 17th node. --Evilsofa (talk) 06:03, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Final update. In my previous entry, I harvested without a Glyph of Bounty or Item Booster. This time, I used a Glyph of bounty, and still harvested 16 nodes and 2 strikes of the 17th node, even though this time the total number of strikes was 62 instead of 50. So it it is node-based, not strike-based. That the 17th node only gives 2 strikes is an apparent intention to limit strikes to 50 under normal circumstances. --Evilsofa (talk) 23:42, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
Bonus gatherings do not count towards the character or account caps of nodes. One way to see this in action easily is Winterberries. Each pair of winterberry bushes is a group of nodes, like how node farms are usually a group of 8. Gather one of the pair, and if you can still gather it, that means the node got a bonus gathering. If you go and gather he other node without gathering the bonus, you will use up the 2 non-bonus gatherings cap of the node group, and since that disables all nodes in the group until reset, the other node will be disabled even tough it had a gathering left. So even if you gathered 62 times instead 50, that only means you got 12 bonus gatherings that didn't count for the cap of 50. Mith🌟Talk 19:09, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

Unbound Magic in home instance?[edit]

I am seeing consistently that I receive no drops of Unbound Magic.pngUnbound Magic when harvesting Petrified Stump, Primordial Orchid, Jade Fragments, or Orrian Oyster (object), but receive UM when harvesting Bloodstone Crystals and Winterberry Bush. Configurations that do not receive UM are:

  • account with no expansion, and only a couple Icebrood episodes unlocked (no LW3)
  • account that has HoT, but not PoF nor EoD, and should have all LW episodes unlocked, but has not played LW3
  • account that has HoT, PoF, and EoD, but has no LW3 unlocked

Could well be related to the lack of Reaper of Magic, Ancient Mursaat Relic, and Unbound Magic Gatherer, but then why do the other two give UM? (cc other talk pages) Adeira Tasharo (talk) 19:51, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
