Talk:ArenaNet Retrospective Video

From Guild Wars 2 Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

It possesses a clip of the Fire Wall + axe thing that we've been looking for. 13:15 to 13:19. It also possesses a clip of the Static Field plus rifle thing. 13:20 to 13:24. Not sure if we already have those, but if we don't can someone extract them? Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 02:37, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I can get a picture, but not a video. EiveTalk 04:22, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Dialogue[edit]

I'm adding the transcript that I've made here. Note that I haven't recognized some of the ArenaNet staffers, so do fix that for me. King's Quest 03:05, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

The guy talking about his character, Joe Hostile, is Joey Knight. Added that when I added missing punctuation. I'll look through the video later to see if I recognize other staff (and run through the gw1wiki staff pages while I'm at it for those which have pictures). -- Konig/talk 03:38, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
I just noticed that Bobby Stein is tagged as Bob Stein in the video. You can see it at 7:38. I'll go through the list of ANet employees as well. King's Quest 04:23, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
I added Kristen Perry to the notes at the bottom, but it's probably best to just change #7 to her name right? -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 04:22, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, just edit it, imo. Note that some unidentified ArenaNet staffers appear a few times, so there's not eleven of them, but a few less. I just tagged it such. King's Quest 04:25, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
#10, http://www.flickr.com/photos/arenanet/5126959137/in/photostream/ ? ge4ce 13:11, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm somewhat amazed that no one has recognized Linsey. Erasculio 13:18, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I have. Just updated the page, and added the time tags on each staffer. So, there's still 7 more people to recognize. King's Quest 14:27, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

ge4ce, thanks for the image. So, still 6 more people to indentify. King's Quest 14:31, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Would anyone say that staff #4 (at 11:28) is Michelle Juett? King's Quest 15:07, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Pretty sure that Arenanet Staff #1 12:14 is Andrew Patrick I've also fixed his page to reflect that he is still Guild Leader of our Guild [ZoS]. Hope thats ok. - Wildy 19:24, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
I've suspected that too, but can't find an image of him. King's Quest 07:20, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Person #1 is Andrew Patrick. #2 is Jon Peters. #3 is Ryan Scott. #4 is not, in fact Michelle -- it's Emily Diehl. #5 is Andrew McLeod. Josh Petrie 02:04, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Josh. There's still a #6 in there, but it isn't like they say much of a profound nature. :) -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 03:07, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
No problem. I know who #6 is, but I want to double check on the spelling of her name (it's not Regina, as somebody seems to have thought).Josh Petrie 05:00, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Right, it's Tami Foote. Josh Petrie 17:20, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Then that should be everyone now. :) - Infinite - talk 17:42, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Is the dialogue complete as is? In other words; can stub status be lifted? - Infinite - talk 09:21, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Well, what we're missing is... oh, I don't know. Probably the unknown off-screen person? I did a few minor changes with the dialogue, but it seems fine... I'd say it's safe to lift it. And thanks a lot, Josh! :) King's Quest 15:48, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
The off-screen person who asks Colin if he's a badass? I'd bet that's AJ, but I can't really be sure.Josh Petrie 03:30, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

The GW2 footage seen on screen at around 4:45[edit]

Should there be a mention that there are currently undocumented skills visible on screen, with their generic colour being purple? This is not speculation, you can clearly see it. - Infinite - talk 15:06, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes, you could mention that. However, the skills can be barely seen. Also, there's GW1 footage and artwork. That should go in the notes as well. King's Quest 15:08, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
I think it is a ranger. The first utility skill could be Healing Spring? ge4ce 15:13, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
People at GW2G have dissected the video and taken a lot of screenshots, many showing a profession with blue skills and a blue trait window. Erasculio 15:17, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
And a downed screencap with blue-ish downed skills, at least the first two,3d is recharging
Assuming Soldiers can't wear light armor, that's not a Soldier. But it's definitely not a Ranger: List of ranger skills. (Note the lack of Greatsword.) It looks very Scholar-ish to me. - Infinite - talk 15:22, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
EDIT: Before we double a convo into one: There's 2 different professions shown in the footage. Guru. I was talking about the Scholar-like one. - Infinite - talk 15:24, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
There's also an open attribute pannel for one of those professions, showing a combination of relevant attributes that we had not seen before. May be an older version of a known profession, or... Erasculio 16:30, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Want to add that too, or are we going to end up over-specific that way? - Infinite - talk 16:35, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Actually, they are telling us he video was made a fe months ago, but the necromancer has been released in august and the weeks before necro-release they where preparing gamescom etc., how long is a few months actually?

after saying this, is it possible to asume that it isn't one of the existing proffesions? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.196.119.34 (talk).

That would be speculation. Also don't forget to sign with four tildes (~~~~). - Infinite - talk 17:01, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Some more information from the video: one profession has Strength, Agility, Perception and Willpower as its main attributes (suggests a low health profession - no vitality - with focus on physical attacks, as opposed to magical - no intelligence). Another profession has Strength, Intelligence, and Willpower (suggests a melee damage dealer with magic); this one is the one with the blue skills and the blue trait window. IMO (and that's just speculation, so of course it won't go to the main page) those are the assassin-like profession and the BML, respectively (although it's odd that the BML does not have vitality as its attributes). Erasculio 20:47, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Can we add the attributes to the guardian article yet? We know it has low health, but high regen, ditching Vitality. Guardian uses spells, so it's Strength, Intelligence, and Willpower as per above. We didn't get it verbally stated, but rather visually in this video. - Infinite - talk 18:09, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
