Talk:Aqua Breather

- Ever think Aqua Breather is the name of the breathing apparatus equip, like "Heritage Armor" is an armor type? It SAYS "Aqua Breather" for its item name. Breathing Apparatus shouldn't be redirecting here. They themselves used "breathing apparatus" for the equipment type. We provide you with a default breathing apparatus [...] That default is clearly the "Aqua Breather" equip, as its equipment name suggests. ~~ Kiomadoushi 05:37, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed - this is a specific piece of breathing apparatus. We need the breathing apparatus page for the over all equipment type. -- aspectacle 06:01, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- Semi-agreed. I don't think we have enough information to say "Aqua Breather is not the sole kind of breathing apparatus" because the line quoted, I must remind you, is continued with a statement that there are other equipment for underwater - likely the 2 icons to the right of the Aqua Breather in the image. That said, I'm sure that "breathing apparatus" will be the item type while Aqua Breather is one of a few/many items that goes in said slot. In short: we don't know enough, so for now it's fine imo. - that's exactly why I hesitated during the creation of the page Breathing apparatus. --The Holy Dragons 08:37, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- It's kind of weird, since the type of Aqua Breather in that pic is head armor, nor there's any indication that it differs from any other head armor in the slot it can equip. Glastium | talk 11:42, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- From my point of view; this Aqua Breather is one of the many Breathing apparatus. They appear to be mere accessories (which can be upgraded!). We'll see. - Infinite - talk 14:30, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with you on the 'one of' part, but I truly don't think Breathing apparatus will be the official name. Glastium | talk 14:49, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- And I know that's the equipment's name - it's listed right there. This page is meant for that piece of equipment - the 8 armor, 1 copper, 1 slot-upgradeable Aqua Breather headpiece. ~~ Kiomadoushi 15:38, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

More sauce at 4:20. One of the devs pulls up the hero panel and mentions that to breath underwater you have an equipment piece called an aqua breather...its a breathing apparatus that allows you to breath underwater. --Moto Saxon 14:53, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
- One of the devs specifically said that there would be different breathing masks available with different looks, Aqua Breather is just the default one everyone gets. - Tanetris 15:05, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
list of vendors[edit]
A list of pnj where we can get thoses would be appreciated because i just realized that i'm still using the starting one on my lvl 31 character. Thanks. - TulipVorlax 06:39, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- There's a List of karma merchant items, but surprisingly there's no section for these. That should definitely be added. —Dr Ishmael 14:09, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- These things are surprisingly hard to find. I played 78 level before found one in Orr. - Yandere 19:18, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
L80 aqua breather available @ [Gavbeorn's Landing] Gavebeorn's Waypoint in Winterknell Shore Sardaukar 13:17, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- I recommend adding them to the page as the vendor that has them is found, and I will try to remember to do so as well. To encourage them, I will start a section for this, if someone else could be nice enough to pretty it up if needed. 69.183.26.60 05:30, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- You're looking for Breathing apparatus. I added a disambiguation message to the top of the article. —Dr Ishmael 05:53, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
NPC usage[edit]
For some reason most NPC's don't use aqua breathers, I never really looked close and realized it until bloodtide coast when 2 charr are underwater trying to help some quaggan build weapons (Scholar Sharpslash and Braze Lonetracker). So unless they have artificial gills installed by some maniacal Inquest operative in their sleep, its an oversight on the devs lol. I don't think this is true of all NPC's but since then I have been looking around and noticed about half don't use them. Nay the One and Only 20:13, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
Clean up of the article[edit]
I cleaned up the error in the armor information block by removing the armor values for the medium and heavy aqua breathers. I added a note in the text to give those values. I also removed the in-game description by deleting the "| uslot = no" line in the information block. Mystikpretzel (talk) 06:59, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
