Dialogue[edit]
- Greetings, Wayfinder. Would you like to assist us in tending the crops?
- Sure. What can I do to help?
- Some of these crops are infested with insects. Unfortunately, unlike the others, these can't be cleansed by peaceful means. They eat into the crop wholly, destroying it from within.
- So we need to get rid of them?
- Correct. We must burn the infested crops to prevent the spread. Grab a torch from the bonfire, and use it on the ailing ones. Please be careful not to burn the healthy crops.
- I'll be careful. Thanks!
- (With Harvest Den Renown Mastery at least at tier 1)
- Would you mind telling me a bit more about all this?
- Glad to. We've been growing these crops for countless seasons. The water flowing through this particular spot allows us to continuously grow and harvest here, keeping us fed in the winter.
- I can't help. Sorry.
Quotes[edit]
- Upon approaching the Bearpaw Fields
- (Harvest Den Renown Mastery tier 0)
- Welcome. If you've a spare moment, I could use a hand burning the sickly crops.
- This time of season, we harvest as many healthy crops as possible before the frost creeps in.
- The infected ones are burned to contain their ill and make way for future life. Such is the way of things.
- Tough to tell from afar, but if you inspect them closely, it'll be clear which are beyond saving.
- (Harvest Den Renown Mastery tier 4)
- Crop tamer, a sight for sore eyes! Your mere arrival brings much-needed relief.
- By now, my request for your aid bores even me, but it rings as crucial as ever. Tend to the crops, as you so well do.
- Upon burning infested crops
- Deftly handled.
- Upon burning healthy crops
- Watch it, now! Burn only the infected ones.
- Easy there! We'll scarce survive if you burn everything.
- Nearing Soaring Crest with the Harvest Den renown heart completed
- (Harvest Den Renown Mastery tier 1)
- That'll do for now. Thank you. To reap and sow in time with nature's rhythms, one must listen and then imitate.
- But most lack the patience. You, I sense, are cut from a different cloth.
- Soaring Crest. Farming Master. May the wind guide you here again soon.
- (Harvest Den Renown Mastery tier 4)
- Thank you, Wayfinder. Forgive my earlier boldness. As this infestation rages, I run myself ragged containing it.
- You see, there are many manners in which to determine a land's health. Personally, I read the birds.
- When conditions are poor, they seek more bountiful lands. Fewer birds often signifies sickness in soil or weather.
- Lately, they've been scarce, leaving our crops vulnerable to infestation. Thus, I've resorted to burnings.
- But the birds' migration concerns me most. My bearkin warn me of strange weather and encroaching predators in the isles.
- Whatever black storm brews upon these lands, I fear it. Take care of yourself, Wayfinder.
