Isn't the creature database the Bestiary? Eive Windgrace 08:22, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- I guess the database is supposed to contain all the informations we're able to gather (location, level, skills, armor rating, hit points and the like) for every single creature in the game. The bestiary is just a quick description of the species. Chriskang 09:20, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- Shouldn't that be inactive then? We don't even know the mechanics of the leveling system, the monsters have unique skills, we have location instances unique to our personal story, and armor and HP haven't been clearly defined. So we can't really record this until it comes out. Eive Windgrace 09:33, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- I would even consider the project to be abandoned since the deletion of Neil's page. It'll probably be recreated later. Chriskang 09:54, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Featured[edit]
I really like the concept of a featured page, perhaps we could implement a project that utilizes it? Pretty much copy and paste the project from GWW? - Aios 3:47, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

"Nevermore.""We had a discussion partly on the topic of featured articles before. tl;dr: We are far away from the point at which featuring articles makes any sense." I think that sums up why there isn't one yet. Aqua (T|C) 03:49, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Interactive Maps[edit]
For anyone following the GW1W anymore, you may have noticed the new project I started in an effort to standardize all the in-game maps of regions, explorable areas, dungeons, etc into interactive and click-able versions. If you're not sure what I'm on about, this is a link to the interactive Ascalon region map on the GW1W.
Not sure where this should have been posted, but this was the closest I came. I was wondering if, when this wiki really picks up steam as Betas release and eventually the game, this would be a viable option for GW2 areas. Obviously it'd be a little different since the game functions differently, but the basic concept would remain the same. If this caught on as the standard early on, I think it'd be really cool to see all the maps on the wiki be interactive, I think it would give another layer of depth to the whole site. Any thoughts on implementing this here? If you're not sure what I'm on about, [this] is a link to the interactive Ascalon region map on the GW1W. ~Farlo Talk 18:51, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- I like the idea - it seems like a smart way to present information. Certainly more inspired than a great list of places in the zone. The zones seem larger and might perhaps have more dense location information we want to communicate than gw1 and so might feel more cluttered - I guess we'd have to wait and see until we get the game. Indicating zone entry points with links to neighbouring zones would also be useful. So - yes why not, but it really is too early to tell. -- aspectacle 04:25, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- We'll also be able to do that with our dynamic events. Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 04:51, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- That's a good point, and yeah, the maps for individual areas might be cluttered depending on what's going on, but we'll see when we have real content. I was mostly wondering if there would be support for the project from the get-go, because obviously just starting it now on the GW1W is kind of a waste. ~Farlo Talk 07:04, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- I would be up for that. The wiki is capable of it. The only problem is the fact that we haven't that many high quality, no zone-indicating maps around. - Infinite - talk 08:19, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, we're working out the formatting kinks slowly but surely on the GW1W, so it'll look good by the time we finally do get any images. Sadly I don't think we'll have squat to run with until some beta for the public, open or closed. ~Farlo Talk 20:32, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- As long as we don't use Comic Sans MS as well this project will work! Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 04:43, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Lol, any other ideas? I know it's not ideal, but I wanted a somewhat generic font that most (if not all) computers would have. ~Farlo Talk 06:01, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Old Projects[edit]
I've noticed that many old projects still exist, which is a different listing than the one on this page. What is to be done with them?
Armor Project[edit]
It seems that the armor pages are all over the place, and many are missing important information even if they are there. I also can't seem to find any guidelines for armor article and image formatting. I'd love to help out, but don't feel comfortable taking the lead on it. Anyone else interested in this? - LordEhzed 15:08, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
Semantic MediaWiki[edit]
I think Semantic MediaWiki would be a good thing to start integrating into how our wiki works, as once it is set up properly it can save us a lot of time editing pages, and overall make the wiki more streamlined, and easy to use. If we are to undertake this though, I would suggest we create a project for it. The reason I am posting here rather than making said project, is I am not sure exactly what would need to be done. I have researched SMW and know the syntax, but I want everyone else's opinion on what we can and will do with it, and then we can form a project. Or not, depending on if people find it unnecessary. And, for those of you who are unaware of what Semantic MediaWiki does, give this a look: Introduction to Semantic MediaWiki Eearslya 23:30, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- You're about 6 months too late (see the "moved to" link for the original discussion). It got installed a couple weeks ago and I've been working on figuring out things to do with it since then. A lot of my ideas require Semantic Forms (for the #arraymap function), so I haven't been able to implement a whole lot yet. —Dr Ishmael 23:34, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I knew it was installed already, and that's exactly why I proposed this. To be a little more organized of adding SMW functionality to the already-existing pages of the wiki. Since just one user doing it obviously isn't our best option. I'm just trying to get a group together who would like to do it and we can all share ideas. Eearslya 23:41, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- EDIT: Wait, I'm a derp. Internet was being slow and I only just now actually got to read what you linked. So does this mean we should create a project based on what is talked about there, or leave it alone until we get that Arraymap you were talking about? Eearslya 23:49, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- EDIT2: Sigh, I'm seriously stupid. Ignore me, I now see what you're doing. Carry on. Eearslya 00:12, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- If you have suggestions, feel free to share them - I wasn't trying to discourage that. Adding subpages to [[User:Dr ishmael/SMW]] for other types of "things" so we can start figuring out how to structure their data would be very helpful - I haven't had time to consider much beyond skills and recipes (and I haven't even written up my ideas for recipes yet). —Dr Ishmael 00:42, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
Skill Animation[edit]
The game has been released, people can and have taken footage of the animation. This project needs updating, but I don't know much of anything about the project, so I don't know where to put it. Elementalmen (talk) 21:55, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- I can try to handle it, but not until July - term exams, working practice etc. I've already made a few animations for ranger... MalGalad 17:46, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned images[edit]
so I'd like to propose a wiki-project, "orphaned images" (GW2W:LOL-ORPHANS). At the moment there are many files sitting in Special:UnusedFiles which could potentially be useful somewhere. It'd be nice to clear the lot out eventually, but it would require the extraction of worthy files first. -Chieftain Alex 22:13, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
On Wiki of Gold[edit]
I'm running a personal wiki project called On Wiki of Gold where you can earn gold for contributing to specific wiki pages. It's not in the "Guild Wars 2 Wiki:" namespace, so I won't list it here on the Projects page, but feel free to check it out. Veterans and newcomers alike are welcome. -- Dashface 12:17, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
