Generic character models

Generic character models overview.

Generic character models, also called Low quality models, are used instead of original skins for characters to increase game performance by utilizing lower quality and generic assets.

These models are used instead of some player characters models when "Character Model Quality" in Graphics Options is set to lower value than "Character Model Limit". If "Character Model Quality" is set to "Lowest", all player characters are rendered with generic models. Weapon skins, back items, and cosmetic auras are still displayed for every character.

Characters that are more distant from the player are more likely to receive generic models. Party and squad members are always prioritized for using original character models, if possible.

Generic character models are different from "Standard Enemy/Friendly Models", found in General Options, which are used in competitive game modes and display all characters as humans.
