Broil Cane is a former Seraph human who has a strong vendetta against the centaurs and fights constantly in southern Harathi Hinterlands, where he is well known for single-handedly taking out centaur groups. Though he prefers to work alone, he will work with the Seraph and the Company periodically.
Broil does not speak about his past much, and as such why he hates centaurs so much is mostly unknown. Rumors include that he had a wife and infant son in Nebo Terrace that centaurs killed and then hanged the bodies on spikes; others claim that centaurs kidnapped and tortured him for weeks—which, if either, is true remains known only to Cane.[1][2]

Dialogue[edit]
- This place reeks of centaur. We're down wind from them, but keep your blade ready.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What's to tell? I was Seraph, but now I'm not. Those centaur bastards deserve a painful, bloody death, and I'm going to give it to them. If you get in my way, I'll go right through you.
- That's the spirit! But leave a few for me. I want to kill some of them myself. I want to make sure they suffer as they go down. They've got to get what they deserve.
- Just don't let your need for revenge cloud your judgement.
If I get in your way, it's because I'm ahead of you, killing all the centaurs myself!
- It sounds like this fight is pretty personal.
- War always becomes personal. Everyone loses something. Everyone gets a reason to fight. My reason's none of your business, and your reason's none of mine, so long as you're ready to do damage.
- I'm ready.
- Don't worry, I won't get in your way.
- I'll be vigilant.
- During Capture Shorebluff Camp
- Next stop: capturing and controlling Shorebluff. How's your hero gauge? Got room for more boom?
- You bet.
- During Keep centaurs out of Shorebluff Camp
- You'd think after 200-plus years of dealing with centaurs, we'd be used to their tactics. They're like fleas. We kill 'em, but they keep making more. And now, they got their sights on Shorebluff. The Seraph are in a tough spot.
- I can help with the defense. Point me in the right direction.
- I can't stick around.
