— In-game description

The Crossing is an FExotic staff initially released in Halloween 2012. When acquired, the weapon has no stats, and can be double clicked to select a prefix. This can only be done once and will make the weapon soulbound. The lantern has a glowing particle effect, and the chain from which it is suspended and the cloth of the severed arm's sleeve both sway realistically as the player moves.

The only way to obtain the crossing is by crafting it in the Mystic Forge. It requires a Gift of Souls which can be crafted in the Mystic Forge as well, but must be learned from a recipe sheet before it can be crafted. The recipe sheet from which one learns the recipe for a Gift of Souls is itself crafted in the Mystic Forge. All three mystic forge recipes related to this weapon are only available during Halloween and are disabled after the festivities conclude. Additionally, the weapon itself, the Gift of Souls, and the Gift of Souls Recipe sheet can all be purchased on the trading post.
