File:Steph2.jpg

Hey, sorry. I had to move your file from File:Steph2.jpg to :File:User Yoe Dude Steph2.jpg, per GW2W:IMAGE#User images. Except I messed up in the in-between stage. Sorry about all the needless fuss I made xP. —Jyavoc 06:41, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

No worries. It was a quick fix to make my page work again. Totality my bad in the first place for not naming the file correctly in the first place. There is just so much info to take in.
I'm not that happy with my page, but it's very low priority, I need to fix a the cruddy screenshots I loaded first. At some point I hope to a have much nicer user page, with different pages for my toons. We need more folks to post user pages and then I'll find some-one with a template I like better than my old page. Yoe Dude 21:52, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
"There is just so much info to take in." I've been here for a good while already, and this is an accurate statement. Luckily, though, the community here is very welcoming and understanding, on the whole. Otherwise I would have been booted quite some time ago :P Sorry about the great welcoming I gave you. So, officially, welcome to GW2W! Great to have contributors here! —Jyavoc 22:31, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

Hey

Just want to say thanks for uploading this. You see, :File:Veteran Giant Risen Chicken.jpg should have been moved there (there was a poor quality image which was already deleted), not yet another small hard-to-make out image being uploaded. >.< Konig/talk 05:21, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Oh, and regarding File:Risen Krait Damoss.jpg - the unwritten rule of thumb is typically "one image per model" - though since that's a good image, and their weapons are different, that case is okay, but for future reference that's the standard situation - it's done in order to keep the number of images to a minimum. Konig/talk 05:25, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Well that answers my question...you posted while I was typing... I joined the screenshot group and have been trying to get Risen done, just found the Mesmer, and I am making his page... I also found a temple guard , that is very similar to a spectral guard, I think I may have a better image but will check, and this time I'll link the image similar to risen grub/maggot. Yoe Dude 05:33, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
No worries, most - almost all, in fact - of your screenshots are really good. So keep up the good work! Konig/talk 05:38, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Since it was mentioned here - I don't like that Veteran chicken image. The light is behind the subject, the background blends with the subject, and there's a lack of perspective (pose is directly head-on). All of which make it very difficult for me to tell what I'm looking at... even when I already know it's supposed to be a zombie chicken. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:51, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
I agree, it is on my short list of images to replace, and the list is very short, I think I am about done with Risen =)Yoe Dude 05:57, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
While I don't have an issue telling what it's supposed to be of, I agree that the perspective is worth changing - nonetheless, I think it's far better than the tiny "standard" Risen Chicken image. Konig/talk 05:58, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Short list became 1st to do... I got lucky and the event was up when I logged in, hope you like the new image.
I was somewhat confused about the whole image thing, many of the risen could be using the same image. The Farmer and the Fisher (I found him last night) could be twins, both use the shovel. But silly me uploaded images of the two of them. I've greatly improved my "imaging skills" since I first started posting. If you check my uploads, very few pictures dated before my Hylek are any good. I feel bad and have been working to replace my dog shots.
So yes I was confused when I got to Krait on my list. At least I knew enough not to replace the other users image of the Nimross with my own, which I did take btw. I guess I won't sweat Orrian Spectral Gaurds which are archers mostly but haven't been able to grab, and I will just link images for veterans when I find new ones whenever possible.
If I may ask a question of you guys if you are following this? Is there a way to find out which monster pages have no images?Yoe Dude 00:20, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
That image is much better - shame you didn't just upload that to the Risen Chicken.jpg image. Can you? Then we can just delete the Giant Risen Chicken image and save the admins a bit of hassle with deleting the eventual redirect if we were to move it. And yes, actually, there is a way to find a list of NPCs that are missing images. I discovered it by accident yesterday. Due to how the images of the NPC template is set up, if you search the what links here for images titled "File:Unknown <race>.jpg" you'll get a list of the race which have no image so long as no one has already put in a custom image name that's non-existent (like I did for icebrood that I know share the same model - e.g., Champion Icebrood Goliath). Example: Special:WhatLinksHere/File:Unknown_Risen.jpg. This, of course, only works for created NPC pages. And it's still not perfect - for some reason, Risen Drake and Risen Bull Shark are listed despite having images of their own. I suspect it's due to server lag when editing, or that the image was uploaded and the articles not yet edited since (which causes them to not always be up to date). Konig/talk 00:29, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Eh, I just deleted/moved them around. That does look really good, thanks Yoe! —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:55, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Since you keep putting the Spectral Guard image on Orrian Spectral Juggernaut - can you point out in which location they use the sword and shield? Because everywhere I can think of - except, perhaps, a skill challenge - they use a hammer or longbow - not a sword and shield. Konig/talk 00:33, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Sorry was walking to a different map for the gorilla. =) I think that image is from hunter's table, I try to post location edits when uploading a picture or drops. The old crummy image was from the Cathedral. I'm walking around some and will re-post a location if I find the sword guys again. I think it's the Juggs that are archers (bows) and the guards come in both types but the tend to stay in their own groups. I was in Temple of Lysa last night and saw the spectral temple guards there but I think those are all hammers, I just linked the one image when I made the page.
And yes I am confused now, I was re-linking images because I thought that was the idea now? Or should I be uploading an image of a Jugg since he uses a different weapon? I have seen that my Damoss has been unlinked, so I guess I was just making the choice between two similar images and since they both we uploaded by me, I was just tring to save any hurt fealings. Yoe Dude 01:22, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
If File:Orrian Spectral Juggernaut.jpg isn't correct anymore, upload a new image of it.--Relyk ~ talk > 04:28, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Re-link images when the model is shared. Juggernauts use a hammer or bow - never a shield and sword. Different models, different images. That simple. And when was the Risen Krait Damoss ever unlinked? You removed the parameter so that it'd be auto-linked, but never was it not on the article. Konig/talk 07:08, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

graveyard category

[1], why aren't you using the template to categorize the page?--Relyk ~ talk > 22:12, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

I guess I'm stupid, I figured out category yesterday, just want to be able to list these silly things in four colums on the page Shaemoor Cemetery instead of the long hand typed list I made. I'll hold off a bit before continuing if you can show me the correct way to do this. Yoe Dude 22:19, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
Adding "gravestone" to the type parameter will add Category:Gravestones, this needs to be handled due to how categories are handled. We can have objects categorize the area by :Category:<area>, which currently isn't done but no reason not to. The discussion on formatting objects is non-existent.--Relyk ~ talk > 00:02, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Sounds simple enough. I need to change a link on those pages anyways. I'll fix this issue at the same time. Yoe Dude 00:05, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
But it's not simple I guess... added "type = Gravestone" to the object userbox, this did display that info to the userbox on the left of the page, but did not add this page to the Category. (Category is named "Gravestones" but entering this under type lead to a red link.) Next I changed the sub categories page adding to its page, so now it shows up on Category:Gravestone as a sub category, but does not add pages in this group to Category:Gravestones... Taking another break, will look for you on-line. If you would, take a look at Adanne Minne and see if you can code it to category correctly. I'll watch that page and use your example to fix all the other pages. Yoe Dude 00:38, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
I zerged through those 48 pages, I've edited the object infobox to facilitate usage of | type = Gravestone -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 01:13, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Actually, the correct way was having them all on a single page like it was before. All the objects are a "Gravestone" not the names of the people on the gravestone. We can stick them into a table to make it easier to navigate and read.--Relyk ~ talk > 01:41, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Rethinking... maybe reverting =)may just be easier to make landmark pages anew.Yoe Dude 02:27, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Favor

I found a champ in Straits of Devastation that I couldn't find any regular risen images on the wiki for the model, so I uploaded it. Since you went and got almost all risen models screen'd for the wiki, can you check to see if it's a duplicate that I just missed? :File:Champion Risen Archmage.jpg. Konig/talk 06:09, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

It sort of looks like a Risen Mage with different clothes. Steph, my creature photg, is in Sparkfly Fen atm. I've been trying to get a screenshot of a Bloated Creeper for days. Soon as I'm done there I'll go check this guy out myself. Could you give me some more location info? Yoe Dude 20:59, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
He was south of the Statue of Lyssa skill challenge in NW Straits of Devastation - he's part of an event (noted on his page - Champion Risen Archmage). Konig/talk 22:41, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok thanks, soon as I finish this edit (the book page) I'll log in and go find it... I'm on the Borlis Pass World Server, and I haven't tried "guesting" yet, if you want give me 5-15 minutes, I'll come visit your server and we can go look together =) Yoe Dude 22:52, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't reply, the best picture for this guy was Risen Wizard, of which I seen in 4 different types, male and female, hood up or down. I uploaded a better correct model picture there. Yoe Dude 23:06, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
I saw that a while back. I wonder if we should start making ==Gallery== sections for those NPCs which have multiple models, naming the alternate versions e.g., File:Risen Thrall 2.jpg or File:Risen Thrall male norn.jpg (the latter would probably be better in the case of the Thralls where gender and race is defined, but for those like the wizards, probably male 1/2 and female 1/2 would be easier). Seems improper to only document one model of the possible versions. Konig 01:12, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
I think they are worried about space, so I don't think they would like that, but I have seen a few galleries. Thrall's and Brute's have 12-20 models so they would take a lot. I was hoping the "renders" would worry about that. =) Yoe Dude 01:23, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
Thralls and Brutes only have 10 models each, I thought (one per player race and gender). That's just 2 or 3 rows (if we set it to perrow="5" then it'd be 2 rows), not so big. Still, I don't like only having one model per article, personally. Konig 01:31, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Rubble (object2)

I think we can move the static object to Rubble, move the bundle to Rubble (bundle), and move the event object to Rubble (event object). Numbering the appearances of a common object does us no good.--Relyk ~ talk > 20:04, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Yes I wasn't sure that I was doing that right, thanks for the speedy answer. Yoe Dude 20:12, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Yeah we have to split the pages because they all have different properties. Any objects that have identical properties go on the same page, even if they occur in different areas or part of different tasks. Otherwise we would start splitting pages by area like gravestones, which is really ugly >.>--Relyk ~ talk > 20:17, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Since they're all fairly minor things, we should do this:
Neither of the objects are destructible because they don't have health bars; one of them disappears when you interact with it, but that's not the same as being destructible. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:43, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
I need to revisit the object main page, not today! But I totally agree with what you guys are saying. Some objects that disappear from the map thru interaction I have been calling destructible. Where correctly destructible objects have to be destroyed thru combat and those have only two types I've seen thus far, ones that fight back and ones that don't. Yoe Dude 20:57, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
The object page doesn't discuss any of that, as objects do not get much love.--Relyk ~ talk > 21:10, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
None of the current suggested moves require admin action, so I'd rather leave it to you, Yoe, to take care of everything (since you're the most familiar with the context and stuff). —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:48, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
Just to note, there's also "Rubble" objects in The Toppled Wall and, I think, along the wall in Diessa Plateau. Just to keep in mind before finalizing moving. Konig 21:37, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I have been "loving" objects now for a while, most of my new pages have been in that category. Still not ready to really dig into objects as far as this all goes. So other than tagging the rubble pages for discussion to be moved, I'm holding out until one of my "heart object find" guys gets to that map and looks at the objects in question. I'll post discussion on the object page some time soon, I am still getting a real good handle on objects. Yoe Dude 22:55, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

critters

move to primary ambient creature, but feel free to use critter as the infobox parameters ;)--Relyk ~ talk > 08:41, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make note of it =) Yoe Dude 21:09, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

pirates

did it turn out that each race/profession combination has it's own pirate article?--Relyk ~ talk > 07:08, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

I spent about 3 hours last night taking those shots. I did visit 4 pirate areas to look them all over. I in fact found that norn had 4 pirates (2 male 2 female) and humans had 7 (4 male 3 female). This is based on weapons. There was not a single generic pirate image uploaded except for the two I had already uploaded, the exsiting ones were all unique boss images. All of the images I uploaded last night are covington pirates taken in False Lake. I thought it would look better if they all shared a common background. I did link those images to most of the pirate pages and except for a few that are involved in personal storylines, I think they are all very close. I hate to say it...Konig/talk suggested the gallery idea on my talk page. I thought I would try it in this area since there was really no images for pirates. I'm not sure if I linked every image or not to a seperate page but I think I did. Did I do wrong? Yoe Dude 16:31, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

The Molten Guys

Just to let you know that they all exist in Diessa Plateau also. Hope this helps. --Claret 21:53, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

And in instances :P--Relyk ~ talk > 21:57, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Caught all those guys last night, but just to confirm spelling and abilites. Two of the Charr look like they have dredge armor on? They may need screenshots but the rest all look just like the normal guys but maybe redder. I always try to include full location info on new pages in case the guys turn out to be unique, so other can also find them. I added to the events but didn't make pages for guys in other areas I didn't see. I've been on here a few hours, so I go to play some and sure enough I get two posts.Yoe Dude 22:14, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
