Nice, could use some cropping :D--Relyk ~ talk < 01:36, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you. Yes, I know. I'm still working on it ^^ I don't know if it's better to hide it so everyone that loads the page don't have to load the animation or if it's good as it is now.W.Wolf (talk) 02:30, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
We need to add finishers to the gallery in the {{item infobox}}. Should look like the gif I added for Super Staff Skin, where you click to view it. We can have a gallery of gif animations for the finishers somewhere else.--Relyk ~ talk < 02:02, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
don't you think it becomes too hidden the way you show me? I wanted to use the way I used before but when you load the page the animation would be automatically hidden and you just needed to click "Show" to view the animation without leaving that page. A gallery of gif animations would be nice too ^^W.Wolf (talk) 02:30, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
I think it's good now: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Snowman_FinisherW.Wolf (talk) 22:01, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Feels the same as having a thumbnail in the item infobox, since it takes a click to view anyways. The only time I would want to preload the gif was if I was viewing all the gif finishers at once. I'm not completely against doing it since navigating to the file page is a hassle for anyone. On another note, tag all the images with {{ArenaNet image|animation|Finisher animations}} so we get the animations in their own category. We can generate the gallery automatically with SMW after that too, like User:Relyk/sandbox/finishergallery; although they aren't preloaded, you get the overlay.--Relyk ~ talk < 01:52, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
I'm still recording and editing the other finishers, I will upload them when they are ready and tag them with {{ArenaNet image|animation|Finisher animations}} (Note: It takes me 11 seconds seconds to open each gif that appears on your gallery)W.Wolf (talk) 18:06, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Reddit thread, I guess searching the wiki is too hard. this must be fixed.--Relyk ~ talk < 04:24, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

My pc broke, that's why I stopped doing the others, but, already got some friends helping me. Well, we can create a nice Finisher Gallery page like you did here Finisher Gallery sandbox so it will be easier to find. What do you think?--W.Wolf (talk) 21:25, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
I think we'll have the gallery on the finisher page as 24 items isn't too large and people will want to view all the finishers on that page.--Relyk ~ talk < 23:36, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Ok, probably best solution than creating another page! If you find anyone that have more free time than me to finnish the gifs would be awesome ^^--W.Wolf (talk) 00:21, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
I have free time to make them, I just don't have the finishers lol.--Relyk ~ talk < 00:40, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
I was using iWisoft Free Video Converter to cropping the gifs. I can work on them too if you want. I just need someone to capture the finishers cause my pc doesn't handle gw2--W.Wolf (talk) 00:52, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
My laptop is pretty shit for video capture too :P--Relyk ~ talk < 01:22, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
Well, I will find someone to do it lol-- W.Wolf (talk) 01:24, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
A friend of mine recorded it and I edited myself, but still missing Tiger, Bear, Shark, Phoenix, Cow, Twisted Watchwork, Megalaser, First Place Trophy, Second Place Trophy-- W.Wolf (talk) 19:09, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

pre-update updates[edit]

Please refrain from updating the wiki with info about the next release until the release ships. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:17, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Ok, Thank you for the warning =)00:18, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Was editing to add: Yes, we know that Runes of the Pirate are changing to give Power instead of Magic Find, but we don't know the specifics yet. Besides, anyone looking at that page between now and Tuesday will be confused when the information doesn't match what's currently in the game. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:19, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
Oh, and in relation to what User:Relyk is doing: adding new pages with limited info is okay, since that doesn't change any existing information. The info gaps can be filled in on Tuesday. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:20, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
I will update on Tuesday then! I know, I was talking to Relyk a few minutes before editing. Thank you for the info D Ishmael. W.Wolf (talk) 00:23, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Preview Play Day: 27 September 2013[edit]

There is a Preview Play Day this week, at 9 AM PST on Friday, and we need a representative on fairly short notice (by tomorrow, Wednesday). Also note that we are going to be trying a new approach to documenting the previews- read this for details. If you are available at that time and interested in trying out the new journalistic approach, please go say something over on the talk page ASAP. Thanks! I can't help it[edit]

everytime I see your name in rc I think of Mr Wolf from Pulp Fiction. ("I'm Winston Wolfe. I solve problems.") -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:04, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

"If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please..." =P W.Wolf (talk) 19:13, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Generic fine icons[edit]

Generally I support this idea, however if you were going to give an icon to "fine weapon x.png", I would say that it would have to be the icon set used by Bronze_weapons because as far as I know, those icons are far more prolific, used by nearly every weapon there is. Psycho Robot (talk) 20:19, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Ok, thank you for the link. I will just use fine for the weapons that don't use bronze icons--W.Wolf (talk) 20:23, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
(kinda related) - if you're intent on replacing icons with generic ones, please copy over the icon categorization too. (e.g. {{ArenaNet image|icon|Medium headwear icons}} from "File:Prototype Helm.png" to "File:Basic Helm.png") - this puts all the same weight, same slot icons in a category so they're easier to update :p --Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:18, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I will do it for the next ones --W.Wolf (talk) 20:22, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

EotM navs[edit]

Why a separate nav for each "area" of EotM? It's all one zone, isn't it? So it should be one navbox. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 01:42, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

^We can organize a single zone navbox by each "area" in the zone--Relyk ~ talk < 03:34, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Basically what I was thinking, yeah. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:56, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Ok. Thank you for the advise! ^^ --W.Wolf (talk) 14:52, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Articles About Things Not (Yet) in the Game[edit]

Could I ask you to start using {{future content}} at the top of articles you add about things you learn from testing Edge of the Mists or other sources? A couple of times, I've tried to find an item or feature that turned out not to be in the game. At least once, it turned out it was never added to the game. Thanks. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:28, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

I will try^^--W.Wolf (talk) 01:36, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
As Magister Izzmek says, "thanks! much appreciated." (I love seeing the articles, as I haven't participated in testing — thanks for taking the time to document this stuff.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:57, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
The things related to the Edge of the Mists I will edit tomorrow because I need to rewrite almost everything--W.Wolf (talk) 02:25, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
All stuff related with the Edge of the Mists have the future content template --W.Wolf (talk) 19:58, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for this! I appreciate you going back to update articles created before my request. And my continued thanks for your tireless efforts to get all this EotM info into the wiki. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:22, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
I like to do it because it can help players^^ --W.Wolf (talk) 05:48, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Just wanted to shout out how fantastic it was that you did all this prep work on EotM. Content released and the wiki was (largely) already current. Thank you again for all the work. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:54, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Yours is right[edit]

Yours is right ofc, I'll add it to my cut and paste set. --Claret (talk) 00:55, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

That's what the "next article" section is for...--Relyk ~ talk < 21:58, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Forgot to update it lol And I let it for you to write, since it seems you like it and I don't ^^ -- W.Wolf (talk) 22:00, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
I write it because no one else bothers too. Way to get my hopes up and then dash them by writing half a sentence.--Relyk ~ talk < 22:07, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
hehe I will try to do it in the next article for the next update then. (Your hopes up again) lol --W.Wolf (talk) 22:14, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Redlinks are your friend[edit]

Hey, excellent work with the set 3 minis. Just wanted to say that when you add a mini corresponding to an NPC that doesn't exist yet, don't be afraid to link to the NPC as if it does. The redlink lets us know that we need to create a page still, and they're a pain to track down and redirect once the NPC does exist (since they won't appear in Special:Whatlinkshere. --Santax (talk · contribs) 19:46, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Ok, Thank you! I will start doing that then.--W.Wolf (talk) 19:49, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

moo[edit]

thank god someone updates the Gem Store.--Relyk ~ talk < 17:29, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Adventures[edit]

I expect we'll need a new infobox for adventures and use the renown heart color pallet :P--Relyk ~ talk < 22:56, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

is it this? Template:Adventure_infobox --W.Wolf (talk) 14:00, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
I'm betting we will have have a tier 1, 2, 3 parameter. I don't think all adventures will have a start NPC. They said the adventures are instanced like renown hearts and the UI is separated from events, which is why I'm sure we don't want to use the event infobox. They will probably change the event circle to the renown heart circle.--Relyk ~ talk < 21:15, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
I believe it too about the tiers and the start npc not being apart of all adventures. But well waiting for next demo/closed beta to see the next adventures.--W.Wolf (talk) 05:23, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Finisher Animations[edit]

I just noticed some of the finisher gifs you've made. They're pretty awesome. Will you be making more? I have some of the ones you haven't done yet, if you need someone to record. If you use the previews in the hero panel, you don't need anyone's help, but they wouldn't match the existing ones. User Kirbman signature.png talk 16:12, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Sorry. I have been too busy with work that I usualy don't have time to come here. About the finishers: I don't have some of them. So if you want to help by using yours so I can record it, I will apprecicate it since the window for some preview finishers ingame is too small.
