Vet. Steam Fabricator[edit]
Hi. I had a look at Stop fabricators from building the steam outpost ingame, and whilst admittedly I was too slow to get to the event before the outpost was completed, I did spot a plain Steam Fabricator. Did the veteran look the same? In which case we can add the same image to that page too. Otherwise looks fine. :) -Chieftain Alex 14:36, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hello! I hope I'm doing this correctly, because I've never done this before. I've done that event a few times, and I'm not sure I've seen a regular Steam Fabricator spawn before - it's always been the Veteran! The image is of the exact same mob though, yes =) I am not sure how to add the image, I admit. I tried, but did not seem to do it correctly and couldn't quite make sense of the directions (I'm very new to this, I'm sure the directions make perfect sense to someone with a bit more experience than I! - You did fine. It seems you found the style guides, or at least copied from one that was pretty well filled out.
If knowing how to populate the infobox is of interest to you, put this into the Search thingy on the side: "Template:NPC infobox" without the quotes. A lot of it is optional. SarielV 15:17, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
Hello :)[edit]
Just a note saying Welcome to the wiki :D I started out pretty much the same way you are, copying out working pages and substituting in different info; you pick up the braces and brackets stuff eventually. SarielV 15:06, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
Hello, thank you so much for the welcome! I have to admit, I'm surprising myself with the random brackets I'm starting to remember! It takes me hours to update just a bit of info sometimes though, as I get so fixated on making sure I don't mess it up. Very nice to meet you! Oh and sorry, I forgot to say thank you for the info up above, too! Muirellthe Moon (talk) 06:22, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
Dialogue Documenting[edit]
I felt bad about that, but yeah, ambient dialogue goes on area pages, not NPC page. Also, I <3 SAND guild. - Doodleplex 09:21, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
- It was a little jarring for me, I admit =/ I don't harbor any grand expectations for adding insanely useful things to the GW2 Wiki, but I do quite enjoy finding the very little tiny things. I definitely have no desire to ruin the Wiki or do something wrong and break something, and I know that having something super edited or completely removed is a possibility here, but I still felt weird. I recently saw an NPC page that had an ambient conversation posted on it (Lucent from Dry Top), and so I assumed that posting Ambient Dialogue on NPC pages was not a problem. I admit, I have never looked at the location pages further down enough to see the Ambient Dialogue posted there. If there's consensus about not posting the Ambient Dialogue on NPC pages I certainly won't ever do it again, I just didn't see anything specific about it in the Editing guidelines, and was going off of what I saw in another NPC's page. —Muirellthe Moon
- It's not a problem at all, the dialogue can always be moved later and the NPC page is the easiest place to add dialogue. Discussion is rather recent. We have ambient dialogue on area pages as putting the dialogue on the individual NPCs would understandably be confusing to read with any conversations. With the Living World, this is particularly useful because much of the worldbuilding takes place with ambient dialogue from NPCs.--Relyk ~ talk < 06:39, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- I understand and that makes sense, thanks! I admit to not paying attention to worldbuilding dialogue too often, as I usually have background music playing. Wouldn't have really occurred to me! —Muirellthe Moon

[edit]
Would it be acceptable to add the times for the specific events in Dry Top on their respective pages? I know there's an interactive map, and chat codes and guides are out there, but I often get PMs about when a certain events occur. I'm also looking into when Chickenado spawns specifically. It is Tier-specific (didn't pop up on a T2 map), but I'm not able to test a T3 map atm. Anyone have a definitive answer? — Muirellthe Moon
- I don't think anyone saw your question here :/ Maybe ask it again on the Dry Top map page. Maybe a simple redirect to the Dry Top/event table-Site would be enough? For example from "Dry Top Events". Then people could enter /wiki Dry Top Events ingame and get redirected to the full timer. You meant ingame PMs? Or maybe a simple link from Dry Top Events to the event-site would suffice? As for the Chickenado: I have no clue, sorry :/ Also don't be afraid to ask the chickenado-quesion on the chickenado talk-page. --Cloned (talk) 09:18, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- I was a little embarrassed to start the talk on some of the Dry Top pages, so I kind of just retreated here and hoped for the best x). And yes, I meant in-game PMs where folks still don't know specific event times (like Light Golem at :05, :20, and :35, etc.) I have to re-orient myself with what I was thinking of doing with some of the Dry Top pages (it was nothing major), as my hard drive failed for a time and I lost a lot of my mental check lists lol. I was able to figure out the answer to Chickenado, though! Thank you for your answer, sorry for my not-so-speedy response! — Muirellthe Moon
Images[edit]
Poor quality images are better than no images. Incorrect labels on images can always be fixed. If you're looking for a set of standard images for charr, you can look at Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Projects/Shared Model Project/Charr for a list, and then add | image = <name>.jpg
to the infobox.
Basically, feel free to give images a shot, and thanks for getting that page done for us ; ). G R E E N E R 20:42, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, thank you for that info! I'll look into it tonight or this weekend, though I admit I'm almost sort of hoping someone will do it before I get to it lol! I'm sure I'll get it right after picking at it a few times. - Muirellthe Moon
30 minute plasma Sand Eel[edit]
Isn't that always the way when it comes to stolen skills? Nice work! --Rain Spell (talk) 07:04, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks!! Is it?! I had no idea... I started testing out Sand Sharks and got Consume Plasma the first time I hit one, but then again I HAD been fighting the Sand Eels in the area before going after them. I'm uh, not a Thief main ahaha... Should I remove the Plasma one then? - Muirellthe Moon 07:06, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
- No, keep it! I find that there's some creature types that only have 1 or 2 stolen skills. The harder ones are the ambiguous categories like the Sand Eel. For example, oakhearts only give you Branch Bash. Pirates give you a variety of stolen skills, but will usually have Drink. I find when I'm stolen skill hunting, I can spend 20 minutes getting the same 2 skills on a mob, and then get a 3rd one right as I'm about to stop. Great job on actually going through with thoroughly testing it out! --Rain Spell (talk)
- Oh. OH. Omgoodness, I feel so silly. I completely misunderstood what you posted! I thought you were saying that Consume Plasma will pop up AFTER 30 mins, I'm so ridiculous. SO sorry! I must be tired. That totally IS the way of Stolen Skills lol! Sometimes I get so paranoid and I'm like "I've tested it for 30 mins, but maaaybe an hour would be better..." Thank you so much, I'm glad to find a fellow Stolen Skill hunter who spends as much time as I do lol! We should team up some time! Muirellthe Moon

Happy Birthday the 2nd[edit]
Saw it was your birthday today when I checked up on the projects page — thus, Happy Birthday! Hope you'll have a good time. :) ...and lots of cake!talk 10:48, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks so much, I appreciate your kind words! I was at university all day, enjoyed my classes (mostly) and got to treat myself to coffee with a gift card I received from a neighbor. Lowkey, but a-okay :) Muirellthe Moon 06:31, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
