perspective change

I start the game with camera behind me, over left shoulder. as I progress, the perspective gradually rises until it is almost directly above me. only cure is to log out and resume. mouse wheel has no effect. help The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.255.210.30 (talk) at 12:59, 8 January 2018 (UTC).

Oh dear, that sounds terrible! Unfortunately that sort of issue is beyond my scope of knowledge, and I'll have to redirect you towards Anet's Support.
  1. Go to https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us
  2. Click "Submit a Ticket" in the top right of the page
  3. Sign In using your GW2 account information that you use to log into the game.
  4. Fill out the information as best as you can so that Anet can direct your ticket to the technical support team.
  5. You'll first receive an automated response from Anet to your registered email (the one that you use to log into the game) confirming that they've opened up a ticket.
  6. You'll then have to play a bit of a waiting game and hope that a tech support can start up a conversation asap with you.
I hope this gets sorted out! G R E E N E R 22:28, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Rejoice

Ever Greener is free once more! Unrelated side note, I missed you in-game the other day! Only by a few minutes, too. :< User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 15:20, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

That just put a bigger smile on my face than it should have! The next two days are just too busy for me atm, but perhaps this weekend I can find time if my clients can be grouped up. That new griffon mount in the gem store looks damn cool (though I still have to get the griffon!!). G R E E N E R 20:31, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
Yay, fingers crossed! Our lives sorely lacked the colour green these days. ;c I concur though, that griffon skin is amazing. That price tag though! User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 20:47, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Extended editor rights request

Hello, Greener. Per my suggestion, could you give User:Sime extended editor rights? I have no doubts she would use 'em well. —Ventriloquist 22:57, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

Just got in the door from a trip, so I'm glad Tanetris was able to get that done. And thank you for bringing in to Sime's attention in the first place! G R E E N E R 08:15, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
Sure thing! —Ventriloquist 09:04, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Widget namespace edit rights request

Hey Greener, for my little project I'd like to use a widget. Can I please get the edit rights to the widget namespace to create my project widget? —Nefastu 15:58, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

Granted. Best of luck with the project! G R E E N E R 18:03, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
Thank you! —Nefastu 18:14, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
We generally want to restrict widget editing rights because you can do bad things with arbitrary Javascript execution. There's a reason why only sysops have the right in their user group. This should be done on the dev wiki.--Relyk ~ talk < 23:12, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for your cautionary words, Relyk. My decision was based on Nefastu's history of edits, and the presence of Smiley on the widget editors list (though I'm sure that was of historical importance).
@Nefastu, before pushing any widgets onto live pages, could you confer with other editors to make sure that there's not something missed?
The stage wiki seems to be down for me atm, but looking into access to it for Nefastu is something we can discuss. G R E E N E R 00:12, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
Of course I will do that, it's my first widget. I have to agree with Relyk, this widget should be tested on the stage wiki, but for now I'll just be careful and include the widget outside my user namespace area only after having the code reviewed by someone else. —Nefastu 07:32, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
The test wiki isn't for widget tests. Just don't test the widgets on live articles.
Also, we could totally remove smiley from that list since his only edit was a widget to create a form allowing external content from github... -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:17, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Fancy new notification

How'd you do that fancy new notification thing? Got a green smiley face. The new alert/notification thing looks cool, but I have no idea how it works :x --Rain Spell (talk) 03:45, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

I'm glad you took interest in it ; ). If you look at an individual edit which someone did, e.g. this recent one by Idris, you'll notice that in the top-right of the page there's a "thank" button beside the edit description: "Latest revision as of 14:42, 25 March 2018 (edit) (undo) (thank)".
I've yet to figure out why it mentions the thank being "public", as each one seems like a private notification to the other editor. G R E E N E R 15:12, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
Nobody's thought to thank me for my edit tho. :( --Idris (talk) 15:16, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
You have been THUNK by me. —Ventriloquist 15:32, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Awesome, thanks! And you're sooo welcome Idris.<3--Rain Spell (talk) 23:53, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
Oh my god I've learned my lesson stop thanking me you guys --Idris (talk) 01:27, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Widget request

Hi Greener, what are the requirements for users who want to be widget editors? I don't know much javascript, but I found an incorrect link on a widget that I can't fix because I don't have permission. --Idris (talk) 13:07, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Not Greener, but if it's just an issue fix, I recommend you mentioning it on the talk page or to Chieftain Alex. Widget editors are very uncommon and I doubt you would get it simply for an issue fix. -Darqam 15:22, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
Looks like Vent's already sorted it now anyway. I reckon I agree with you on widget editors being too exclusive a group. I was mistaken on which user group has widget permissions; I thought it was API editors at first, which I know is a fairly large group that I'd considered joining in the past. --Idris (talk) 15:26, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
I've tweaked it, but yeah, just posting on the discussion page should be enough for one of us to swoop by. —Ventriloquist 15:37, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
Good to know. Thanks. :) --Idris (talk) 15:38, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

If you liked that...

...you should love this. It took a just a little bit longer to knock the background out from the original image. - Doodleplex 19:38, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

I honestly have no idea how that's even accomplished. Last time I used MS Paint, it sure didn't seem to want to pull that off ; ). G R E E N E R 22:32, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
Step 1: Stop using MS Paint. Step 2: Install Photoshop/Gimp. Step 3: Learn how to use the pen tool to make selections. Step 4: Pat self on back. - Doodleplex 22:36, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
By accomplishing Step 1, may I jump ahead to Step 4 and add cookies? G R E E N E R 22:58, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
Only if you do steps 2, 3 and then confirm you're not eating any of my cookies. - Doodleplex 03:00, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

Listen here you little

I should report you for VANDALISM. I hope you get banned --Idris (talk) 05:34, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Well, in my defense, I was hoping that applying &bot=1 to my edit would work in this version of mediawiki, thereby giving myself more time to chuckle at the childishness of my actions. Apparently though, it still only works for rollbacks...
I'm also aware that I raised no valid defense. G R E E N E R 05:44, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Don't worry, I had a chuckle too. A good, horrified chuckle. --Idris (talk) 05:48, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks

So how did you launch that notification to "thank" me. I'm assuming new wiki toys, but where? -Darqam 20:29, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

Re: The subsection above ; ). G R E E N E R 20:39, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
o... But why can't I thank myself? brb creating alt account to inflate my ego. -Darqam 22:35, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

Mokidi

So who is Mokidi? I can't find anything on either wiki. Steve1 (talk) 21:35, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

It had been a typo. Sunspear MoDiKi. G R E E N E R 21:37, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Typo. Right. Thanks. Steve1 (talk) 22:38, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

Wiki Issue

The nav table for jahai bluffs appears to say it's for the domain of kourna. no idea how to fix this, figured you would ~ Trevor95251 03:18, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Fixed with an edit to the Jahai Bluffs nav template. —Ventriloquist 11:00, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
Lol my bad. Busted! -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:52, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

I have no idea what I'm doing

Since you're the only person I know who's smart, I was wondering if you could find a way to add the Perfected Scepter to the list of Perfected weapons? Maybe the new one too but just this is fine. ~ Trevor95251 14:57, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

I'm not Greener (again), but the reason why it was not listed there is because the scepter was missing the 'set' parameter in the infobox. This edit fixed it. —Ventriloquist 15:03, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
Wack. Thank you! I'm learning a bit more about how the wiki works every day it seems. ~ Trevor95251 15:58, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
To expound on what Vent said, {{Weapon set table}} looks for items which have a weapon set matching the title of the page the template is on, so putting the template on the "Perfected weapons" page means it will gather all items belonging to the set "Perfected weapons". When Vent added the | set = Perfected weapons to Perfected Scepter, it gained that property. A list of the properties for Perfected Scepter can be found here. G R E E N E R 16:18, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
Thank you! It's always nice to learn new wiki stuff ~ Trevor95251 16:30, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

Extended Editor Rights

Hey Greener, could you please grant me Extended Editor Rights so i can move things without leaving a redirect? Would be greatly appreciated. Almdudler (talk) 20:25, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

I generally look at extended editor rights on an as-needed basis. Looking at your move log, I am not seeing many examples of it being needed (though there are some logs in your deleted contributions). Redirects can be very useful to have and maintain, and deleting them should not be a habit. Knowing when to delete them is often learned over time.
All this said, I do trust you as an editor, and I'm sure you'll lean towards leaving redirects when you're uncertain. I'll grant you extended editor rights. Beware the rollback button. G R E E N E R 20:34, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
