John my boy! about time you came over here! (to the community at large, John (greener) is a mass-mainspace-contributor <3). I've missed you and your [LOVE] officer-ness ^____^. — Scythe 2:19, 29 Sep 2010 (UTC)

You should have access to the 'move' function by now, it's to the right of the 'history' tab. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:27, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

No idea where the chat links for items are hiding

Go to Smily's item search and search "Ebonshore Leggings" :)--Relyk ~ talk < 00:46, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Pardon my French, but holy crap. Screw talking to Heart Vendors for the next while. G R E E N E R 00:48, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Personal story reward items / karma reward items

You know how there are a bunch of vendor templates pointing at personal story reward item articles?.. The IDs for the level 1 personal story reward items are probably wrong. >.< The Dull Dagger at least had different weapon strengths between the karma + reward versions, despite both being level 0 req. Also the value was different. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:44, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Or you know, those are just item articles that never split out the personal story items.--Relyk ~ talk < 12:27, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, there comes a point when my eyes become so glazed, they don't even notice Defending Shaemoor was labelled as being level 10. Thanks for sorting those out. I'll now contemplate whether I'm willing to delete my new character a few times over in order to get some more of those ID numbers.
(edit) Looking back, Wooden Longbow is at least correct as both the karma and personal story reward, as I did just make a ranger, and the history said I hit that page twice via the same ID. G R E E N E R 17:41, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Weapon skin pages

Hi there. When creating skin pages, it wouldn't hurt to write up a simple description about them, as it makes the page look more complete and adds a bit flavor to it.
Something like "<Skin name> is a unique <weapon type> skin." for skins that don't belong to weapon sets and "<Skin name> is a skin that is part of the <weapon set> set." If you could apply that to future pages you create, that'd be great. —Ventriloquist 09:53, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Yep, absolutely. I'll even try to remind myself to fill out the 'set' parameter like you've been doing. G R E E N E R 10:32, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Copy paste

Your copy pasting for the acquisition methods of Ascalon weapons and armor has a typo of contained - contaned. Just a heads up before making more. —Ventriloquist 20:38, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Confused about Cost and Query for Ingredients.

I just realized that removing the "cost" from some of the base ingredients could mess around with query searches for items. I also came across a strange result in the process. "Show base ingredients" for Mashed Potato has the cost of salt being Copper coin while the cost on Packet of Salt is Copper coin.

So two questions:

  1. Should I refrain from removing the "cost" parameter for items used in recipes?
  2. Is the query search just an oddity?

Thanks G R E E N E R 04:49, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Base ingredients shows the Trading Post price. The cost parameter refers to vendor price. Replace the cost parameter with a section with {{vendor list}} on any pages.--Relyk ~ talk < 05:40, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
It's pulling from the TP? Thanks for letting me know. G R E E N E R 05:43, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Just for further clarification, the trading post price shown in infoboxes such as on Packet of Salt is the sell price. Hovering over this value in the infobox shows the TP sell and buy prices, and base ingredients only shows the highest TP buy price. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:50, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I could have looked closer at that, but I was on auto-pilot while tending to a cat with thyroid problems ("I know you think you're hungry, but you really just ate. No, I'm serious, I just fed you.") and watching soccer. I had actually wondered if the salt price was calculating it as Cost - Value. The TP never even crossed my mind. skin links for consumables

nice job. I don't expect any of the item links to work anymore... kind of lost faith with non-skin links. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:30, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. I was rather confused with some of the other code, as the braces tended to overlap in awkward places. Any idea if the new character API's are going to need the wiki to be complete with its links? If so, I'll pace myself better and stop meandering to other projects. G R E E N E R 08:34, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
I have no idea about the account api. I guess you're talking about API:2/account/bank... I think we have skin ids + item ids for most things so it should be ok. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:43, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I just saw API:2/account/skins and API:2/skins being created when I came in tonight. I guess if people want to have the pictures to go with them, they can either get their own pics, or create the pages here. G R E E N E R 08:46, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Skin/Set pieces

I've been removing set pieces and replacing them with skin pieces on all armor pages, but I do agree that crafted sets should be using set pieces. I just tried being consistent, but I do see that it makes more sense to only list the set pieces, as it's the only non-historical method of acquisition. If armors have more than one (karma, for example), then we should use skin pieces. —Ventriloquist 15:21, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

I was just doing a tally on how many I had made one way vs. another. Very much agree with you. I'll get around to the other crafted armours in a bit. G R E E N E R 15:23, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
You can just revert me, I've changed the ones whose PvP sets are done, which is about 5-10 per weight. —Ventriloquist 15:29, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
You mean pages have histories and I should look at them? Forsooth! I'll give them all a good gander. Right now, food, coffee, and other basics are to be had. G R E E N E R 15:32, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

"If we put the "salvages into" template onto this page, isn't that stating the kit can be salvaged?"

It definitely isn't an ideal solution, but it's better than adding a salvage template onto every ascended ring page, since they can now be salvaged. Same goes for armor and weapons. Hopefully it won't be too confusing, unless, of course, a better solution comes up. —Ventriloquist 20:29, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

We could put the template on every page, that isn't a problem to be honest. On the other side, listing all the items that salvage into a specific item isn't useful since the list is massive and relates to the item properties than specific items. That might be what we ultimately do for the salvage section, if the results are consistent and someone understands fully how salvaging works.--Relyk ~ talk < 20:55, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Breathe recipes

Use this "X is a recipe sheet used to learn the recipe to craft Y." cp for breather recipes. ...And generally any recipes that don't have the product in the description noted. —Ventriloquist 12:07, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Ah, mais oui. I'll do my best to keep that on my mind, and we'll see if I can turn it into a habit. G R E E N E R 12:31, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Honestly pretty ridiculous of me to be telling you that since I used like five different types of formatting on those pages. —Ventriloquist 12:38, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Variety is but the spice of life, so I should thank you for making things livelier. G R E E N E R 12:55, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Should this not pull the hint parameter instead of the description?

no because the hint parameter is an abomination (:p) that suggests each achievement item should have its own page. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 10:15, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Alright, I was just confused as to why it was pulling descriptions which amounted to saying the items belonged to a collection. I've got enough experience with tautologies, but I wasn't expecting them there! G R E E N E R 10:18, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
I didn't have the description in my original version, Alex added that. I'm with you, I don't see the point - most of them have no description (apparently the "This item only has value as part of a collection." bit doesn't actually show up in-game), and for the few that do have a description, it's not useful to people reading the collection page. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:12, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
I just felt it was "useful" to default it to a parameter which existed rather than being blank. I don't mind if it shows nada by default if {{{2}}} isn't given. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:01, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
So for future reference (as I've gone through many of those collection items already), should I maintain the hints in the hint parameter and move any which have been placed under "description" to "hint"? I can also toss the hints onto the collection page where they appear to be currently gathering. G R E E N E R 17:36, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Yes. After a long and drawn-out argument on Template talk:Item infobox, it was decided that hints only belong on the collection page because that's the only place they appear in the game. They don't appear on the items' tooltips or in the items API.
However, there's another twist to this, too: many of the collection entries aren't actual items, they're intangible unlocks that you earn by doing something, rather than by acquiring an item or skin. These unlock-only entries shouldn't have pages at all (unless it's just a redirect to the collection page). —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 18:27, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Ah, and I won't be able to discriminate at-a-glance between those that are actual items and those that aren't through the API because some items may still be black-listed. Thanks for the info, you two, as always. G R E E N E R 19:23, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
