I'm going to say this now since I looked at the page out of curiosity... The pink looks horrible on the layout. Unless you're intending this to be some pink ribbon advertisement, I suggest you change it. -- -- Konig/talk 14:19, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm also not a fan of the pink. Maybe shades of a grayish or brownish red?-- Shew 15:07, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
what about my idea? --NeilUser Neil2250 sig icon5 Anti.png 15:13, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I'd keep the greyish color that is used on the main page right now. I also don't like the huge GW2 logo on this one. --Super IgorUser- Super Igor logo.png 15:16, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) I like those colors, Neil, but I don't vote for actually changing the GW2 logo's colors.-- Shew 15:17, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I prefer the green already on the main page; note that the background/border colours don't need to match the logo - there's no blue in any GW1 logo.
I don't really like the proposal, particularly the way the text is formatted. I actually prefer the current GW2W main page, where it's formatted in a linear way instead of with multiple margins and large white spaces made by one- or two-word lines. pling User Pling sig.png 15:20, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I agree with the others, I'm not a fan of this design. I prefer the current Main Page to this one. --User Phnzdvn sig.pnghnzdvn 15:23, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I dislike the idea of copying the layout of the GW1Wiki. As things stand, the current is the best I've seen (imo, of course), but once released, we could probably change it a tad (like getting rid of the 8 professions at the top, splitting the Articles of Interest and the Welcome blocks in half vertically; perhaps push the whole thing to the side and add a column, etc. - but keeping the general layout the same, along with colors *colors changing during holidays, of course*). -- Konig/talk 17:11, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
I personally prefer this layout (the first one); much better looking than what we have now, it seems. I mean, the modern layout is a bit cluttered, unorganized (Would you believe I never realized we had news on our main page? Lol it's just sort of lost at the bottom, whereas every other site I've seen always has news at the top, where people will see it first thing), and categories aren't really in good places. This layout is more orderly, and it's easier to find what you're looking for. :) --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 02:01, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
I dunno why, but I find our current layout to be more organized than the GW1 Wiki.. 04:11, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
Ergonomic of this page are far more better than the current homepage : more aearation and more simple repetitive structuration of the page wich help the eye to get what he want. And I'm speaking as an UX designer so bravo. --Dreams Factory 13:01, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, but this isn't my design. Aqua, our resident design expert, made it a while ago and then proposed it as the new main page. Unfortunately, in the following discussion some people complained that the design doesn't work in all possible resolutions known to man (in case there's someone out there still with an Amiga running at 300x200 pixels), and thus he has been forced to adapt the design a bit. I just took his design and adapted it so it looks nice in my resolution; basically a matter of increasing a few images for now. Erasculio 23:17, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

your curent version.[edit]

it works for me dono if it works at 800x600 but its the same concept which i approve.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 03:37, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

It's not even close to working on 800x600. Aqua (T|C) 04:15, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Uh? Ah, this is not a proposal for the main page, I'm sure others will find a way to make it work there. This is something just for me. My current resolution is 1920x1080, so the current proposal doesn't really work on my screen. And let's face it - the price for trying to make something that looks decent on any resolution will (very likely) be ending with something that doesn't look great on any resolution. I made a version tailored for me so I can have a great looking main page, by mostly increasing the size of everything Aqua designed and thus adapting it to a higher resolution. Erasculio 08:49, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Don't try to fit 800x600. Professional standard for webdesign is 1024 todays and even 1280 for some specific publics. --Dreams Factory 13:17, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
i know this is a wiki noob thing to ask but is there some way you are replacing the main page with your own every time you go to the main page? or do you just go to that page via bookmark?-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 23:03, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
