Re: Icons[edit]

Hello just a friendly reminder all ICONS must be .png and follow a specific format "Game icon images (skill icons, item icons, trait icons, map icons, etc.) should:

Weapon list[edit]

I dunno what you're upto, and feel free to experiment, but have you seen Form:Equipment query? It probably does something similar, and is based on equipment query -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:57, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi, want to add something like this to the sigil page, but I couldn't find the appropriate template, so I was trying out things with templates and SMW, but I'm struggling a bit with the syntax. I thought it would be helpful to add as a section, for example on Superior Sigil of Energy CranSnap (talk) 19:05, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Weapons with this sigil
Also, I didn't realize I couldn't delete the test templates that I created. I apologize for creating junk on the wiki. Is there a better way to test out templates? I created these two as I was trying things out, but feel free to delete them if you can: Template:Weapon list header Template:Weapon list row. - CranSnap (talk) 19:19, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Since we don't (yet) document all variations of loot equipment, any list like that is going to be far from complete. For example, we currently have these 6 unique weapons documented with a Superior Sigil of Energy: Chalice of the Gods, Courage, Defiant Blaze, Fixer Upper, The Minstrel, The Moot, Tinwail. However, my API-based item database shows an additional 6 items with the sigil, all of which are generic exotic loot (e.g. L66 Rampager's Iron Pistol of Energy, L65 Berserker's Iron Hammer of Energy, etc.).
I'm assuming that your intended goal is to list indirect sources of the upgrade, i.e. what items you can buy from the TP in order to salvage. If so, then the wiki's current state isn't going to be optimal: you'll only be listing the unique items, which, in most cases, are significantly more expensive than the generic items. The example above isn't a great one, since the price of the sigil is driving the price of the weapons - the sigil itself is currently ~9g, the unique weapons average ~8g85s, and the generic weapons average ~8g25s - but the difference is enough to prove the point.
That being said... I had started a discussion a week ago about getting these loot variations documented, but it fizzled out. Since there weren't any real objections to it (the fizzle occurred over how to split pages with 200+ variants due to server limitations, and that only affects 1 page per item type), I'm probably going to forge ahead anyway.
Switching tracks: Don't worry about creating junk on the wiki. To tag a page for deletion, just use the delete template. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:46, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the comprehensive response. I thought it wouldn't hurt to have it there though. I edited that page Superior Sigil of Energy and added that information just as a plain list. See what you think, but if it shouldn't be there feel free to remove it. CranSnap (talk) 20:03, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) You could test stuff in your userspace if you want (for example I have a ridiculous number of test pages I've created), but it doesn't make much difference if you wish for it to be deleted later.
I've updated Equipment query so it can do what you asked for with even though i don't think its entirely suitable. I was surprised that we didn't have a simple formatting template.
We could have modified your query to:
Weapons with this sigil
Weapon list header

|}
Aside: I'd also really like to see a bot (by poke or yourself hopefully) capable of adding the skin parameters to item infoboxes. Its nice to see people tinkering with SMW though. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:05, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the tips! The equipment query looks great. I don't know what you mean by the skin parameters though, could you give me an example? - CranSnap (talk) 20:32, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Aha apologies, I forgot to edit the comment after the edit conflict. The skin parameter thing was directed at Dr Ishmael. Its data that the wardrobe API gave us but we haven't got on the wiki yet. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:03, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Drop rate[edit]

Hey, just wondering, on Small Supply Bag/Drop rate you put quite some data, but you were supposed to put the amount of times you got an item, not the total amount of items ._. ThePsionic (talk) 16:06, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

Are you sure about that? Anyway, feel free to remove it if you feel like the information is incorrect. CranSnap (talk)
Oh I see that on the description now, I posted that info back in Dec/2013, based on what they had on Heavy Loot Bag/Drop rate, which says:
"This table has been setup to use a manual total for each line - i.e. the number of boxes opened. This allows you to write down the initial number of boxes, open them all, and then count up the number of items you have received.".
Maybe that needs to be revised too. If you want, I can remove all my contributions to the following as well:
Heavy Loot Bag/Drop rate
Supply Bag/Drop rate
Medium Miner's Bag/Drop rate
