Talk:Gallery of scepters, isn't there an easy way to omit results with "*" or "+" keys? I thought it was done automatically but it's not. Does bring in mind that we should add Weapon types category to all the types of weapons.--Relyk ~ talk > 22:46, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

I'll think of a template for it. Give me 10 minutes... Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 22:57, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
Yeah "weapon types" must have been a remnant from when I copied it off GWW - I've avoided that in the end with string functions -_- . Can you think of anything else I need to add to that template? (mainspace it? what name? "Template:Weapon gallery"?) Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:30, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
I want to stick Scepter in Category:One-handed weapons, but that's not category semantics lol. Just grab pages that use the weapon infobox, this is a hack until SMW galleries anyways.--Relyk ~ talk > 00:19, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Until yandere and others went any changed all my category logic for weapons, (previously the base pages were all in one category) I could have just said notcategory = Weapon sets.. w.e its all working now. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 00:42, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Pages like Crude Warhorn are going to disappear from galleries when we get that smw gallery update. Guess we need a stubby infobox.. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 01:14, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Base weapon pages should all be in one category, that's the entire point - to group like pages together. Mace, Sword, Longbow, etc. should all be in the base Category:Weapons because they describe the base weapon types. I still don't understand why the early community here thought that was a stupid idea. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:13, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
One-handed weapons and Two-handed weapons is a misnomer as well; its more like mainhand, offhand, ambidextrous, or dual, all depending on the profession. It's states such for the one-handed weapons. But more QQ.--Relyk ~ talk > 02:41, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
I think one/two-handed is a good distinction - some weapons are wielded with 1 hand, others with 2, and there's no overlap there. Yes, one-handed weapons can be main/off/dual per profession, but they're still wielded with 1 hand. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:54, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Oops, I was thinking of the change to the base-weapon-family pages, I've never added a category to the basic weapon type pages. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:47, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

Next statistical tool

[[User:Chieftain Alex/Template:Drop rate footer]] - this time actually has footer stuff in it!

I've added another utility to allow the display of bar charts beneath the data. The only thing is I cannot work out why the hover tool-tip doesn't display properly, its not reading one of the variable strings. Thoughts?
You can display the preview by replacing {{SDRF}} with {{User:Chieftain Alex/Template:Drop rate footer|chart=yes|max=true}} Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:34, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Make an example, too tired to investigate this.--Relyk ~ talk > 09:43, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
User:Chieftain Alex/sandbox3#Totals. Setting max to a specific value results in the highest value taking up 100% of the height. (also, did you know we could link to the totals line due to the use of {{anchor}}?) Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 10:58, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
No but that is a gross misuse of section headers. If we stored the running total variables into an Internal Object, I bet we can use it to create a bunch of interesting graphs and pie charts for queries. Which would be a poor use of SMW, but great fun on the other hand.--Relyk ~ talk > 11:17, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

I was wondering.. where do you get your icons? uMod, gw2db or just the datextractor? --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 01:21, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Dr ishmael updates icon archives after every major build, you just have to pay him $50 to access them.--Relyk ~ talk > 01:33, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for always updating the icons to better quality ones ^^ (you got better ones for all of them ._.) Magistrella 11:44, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, call it OCD or whatever you like, but there are quite a few I've missed at [[User:Chieftain Alex/Templates/Icon replacement table 2]] (admittedly we're talking ~40 out of several thousand checked icons).. there a way to use dpl to test if a template is invoked twice on a page

Use #ifexists and it will return false on the wiki links generated from strings that get repeated.--Relyk ~ talk > 01:36, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

As in a big dpl list of pages only using {{ArenaNet image}} twice? I can generate a list with
{{#dpl:
| uses = Template:ArenaNet image
| namespace = File
| include = {ArenaNet image}:1,{ArenaNet image}:2
| format = ¶{¦ ²{STDT¦sortable}² ¶¦- ¶! File !! Parameter 1 !! Parameter 2, ¶¦- ¶¦ [[%PAGE%|%TITLE%]] ,,¶¦}
| secseparators = ¶¦,,¶¦
| title> = Aa
}}

but other than sorting the headings I won't spot duplicates easily. Perhaps I could use a subtemplate with

{{#if: {{#pos: <input string>|iconicon}}{{#pos: <input string>|screenshotscreenshot}}{{#pos: <input string>|iconscreenshot}}| <displays a result>}}

But I'm unfamiliar with dpl subtemplates :/ I think I'd still need to manually increase the offset every 500 search results though, even if they're hidden by the subtemplate? Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:29, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Right, you can't filter out results, include will show pages whether or not it uses multiple templates. We have to use includematch and i can't use regex.--Relyk ~ talk > 22:29, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
Add this to the template:
{{#vardefine:double|{{#expr:{{#var:double|0}}+1}}}}{{#set:Instances of template={{#var:double}}}}
Then you can #ask for [[Instances of template::2]]. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 22:35, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea - if we use it again we probably want to ignore rune articles :D Btw, your sandbox isn't broken, its now empty since the job queue went back to normal levels + I emptied the dual templates. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 00:29, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
maybe I should go double tag an image to doublecheck...--Relyk ~ talk > 01:23, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
So that would have taken much less time if we didn't set the property for every single occurrence of the template with the property lol. SMW should keep track of properties that get set multiple times on the same page. And you can set the default parameter to display some text if no results are found, nifty stuff.--Relyk ~ talk > 10:22, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Any thoughts on Template_talk:Weapon_gallery#Navigator btw? Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:06, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

@Relyk: Why would it have taken less time? The wiki still adds every page that uses the template to the job queue to be reprocessed, regardless of what the change was. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:59, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
I read that later, it creates a job for each occurrence of the template. But defining the property for articles with one occurrence was redundant!--Relyk ~ talk > 19:05, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Image formatting

re http://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Guild_Wars_2_Wiki:Image_formatting&curid=12056&diff=499720&oldid=499716&rcid=524483

I'd rather avoid using language like "users are to do this" or even "users should do that". P&P is ideally a documentation of practice, which users use as a guide to know what's the norm/accepted/appropriate consensus, instead of a list of what's allowed and what you have to do. "This is how the community does it" vs "this is what you have to do".

Even if the end result is the same, i.e. people do it this way, there's more room for the perception of flexibility; i.e. that practices can and do change. pling User Pling sig.png 18:51, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

I've reverted my edits - you wrote P+P so you can clarify it as you see fit. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:33, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
I basically just re-arranged what's already there. Also, do discuss and explain if you're not satisfied with PP. I don't have a monopoly on that page; your view is just as valid as mine. pling User Pling sig.png 21:39, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
As I've said above, the only problem I have is that its all so "free" and uncontrained, abstract if you will - way too hippyish for me ;)
(this topic seems way too familiar, did I do something similar somewhere else and forget?) and btw I think your last edit to gw2w:image makes it as good as it will get, more instructional, less bossy! Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:47, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

User images

As mentioned in the talk page, the naming convention is redundant if it's just a user image. Do you have any other reason for that semantic?--Relyk ~ talk > 18:53, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

{{ #dpl:
 | uses = Template:User image
 | nottitlematch= %User%
 | namespace = File
}}
this indicates that beyond those 43 pages, all of the other 3607 (yes I counted them) user images use this naming convention. Is there any reason to abandon it? I fail to see how it can be so difficult if the ratio of failure to success is 1:84. -_- --Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:12, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
That doesn't include images uploaded without the User prefix and without the user image tag. But anyway, I think the larger point is that the prefix isn't needed and arguably creates more hassle than it's worth. Perhaps the question should be "is there any reason to keep it", given that people's time is spent fixing image names and informing users; all for something that the tag parameter takes care of. pling User Pling sig.png 19:27, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
The user image template was introduced after the guideline was established, you're observing that people tend to follow policy. That includes other users tagging and moving the files (Cool fact: a couple per 100 omit the user parameter in the user image tag still).--Relyk ~ talk > 20:19, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Hmm. what a lack of organisation. about 320 images with "user" prefix without the template. How on earth am I supposed to find a list of the images for the userspace, that don't have the user-image tag and haven't got the prefix?
I see the template as imported dec 2007. 2010 introduced P+P + the image formatting guidelines. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:30, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
I know you can't find a list of non-tag, non-prefix images, I was just saying you don't have the full picture because of it. But ignore it, it wasn't really an important point and it doesn't make much sense anyway :P. pling User Pling sig.png 21:29, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
The name parameter was added to images using the user image template used soon after the guideline was introduced, what's your point?--Relyk ~ talk > 22:14, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

helping me help myself in future

Can you instruct me on how too add the new minipets to my list so I know for future minis. Ty ") Spark-TBa 10:19, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

As in add to the template invocation on your page (i.e. listing the new parameters) or adding the new minis to the template itself?
For former; its simply a case of typing "the new miniature's name = yes"
For the latter; as long as you can do wikitables you can edit the template just fine by copying one line of code, putting it beneath an existing line, and changing the name of the minipet. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 12:08, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
would be the latter, but i know very alot about very little so i normally just copy and paste on wiki anyway, if you could give me a heads up what to copy ill test it out  :) Spark-TBa 22:16, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Template suggested upgrade

Hi Alex; I have a suggested change for the item icon template, adding rarity coloring; Before I go and make changes, perhaps you can take a look and see if it seems ok? See my sandbox at: User:IceHeart/Sandbox. There are 2 pages under, the template itself (ItemIconV2) and a 'test' page to make sure I didnt break anything.. Let me know what you think --IceHeart 05:07, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

It looks good to me, I'd probably put a similar link to your test + sandbox at Template talk:Item icon so that the people who are really going to use it will find it + check.
I had a quick look at the crafting template while I was there,
{{#if:{{{equiplevel|}}}|{{!}} style="text-align:center" {{!}} {{{equiplevel|''Unknown equipL''}}} }}
Putting a default value (Unknown equipL) is a bit redundant, since it must already exist + so it would be equivalent to:
{{#if:{{{equiplevel|}}}|{{!}} style="text-align:center" {{!}} {{{equiplevel}}} }}
(Also, do you get some extra newlines sneaking in your table?) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:13, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Rarity doesn't need to be a parameter, we can look it up via a semantic query. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:55, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, dont look at the crafting template quite yet.. thats WIP :) the 'unknown equipL' is just to check where I was getting some odd behavior (no, no extra lines, but I am getting some weird table formatting.. missing borders etc). The whole idea came up from trying to improve the crafting page, so it would be useful to add a couple things to the crafting/item, then I realized there were further dependencies heh - @ DrIshmael - cool, I hadnt noticed the semantic extension was available; I havent used it much, but I'll look into that and maybe try a V3 in the next few days without a rarity parameter then, see how it works and let you guys know - Thanks! :) --IceHeart 06:06, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Ookay.. it was fun while it lasted :) - @ DrIshmael/all: so, single item has multiple versions, hence 'Has_Item_Rarity' has multiple values.. other than allowing the rarity template to handle multiple values.. say like a superscript or such.. I see no way around.. suggestions?--IceHeart 08:03, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
Blame arenanet for giving multiple items the same name. Simply listing rarity values won't let us differentiate between weapons. We would need to use a #set_internal for each instance of the weapon (Pretend I know what I'm talking about). I have no idea how we want to display them, but we won't be using multiple infoboxes.--Relyk ~ talk > 08:20, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Why are they called focus items? And why doesn't it use "category=*Unique weapons by type". Those are some strong template names though.--Relyk ~ talk > 15:14, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
Ooooooohhh... the category name doesn't use "foci" over there. I would guess, Relyk, that it uses "focus items" specifically for purposes like this. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:45, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
The only tricky thing with the stringfunctions will be getting it to avoid confusing Adept/"Aptitude not Attitude" (theres only 10 or so weapons with both mods, so I could pretty easily programme around it)... the rest should work once i press submit in a bit. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:38, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Icon links

Pretty amazing what you did there just with the Bloodstone Shard. Since i was pretty baffled for a min or so i want to confirm: How does the page know which Icon to get. I'd think now its by the bare corelation of beeing the page and icon name beeing named exactly the same, is that correct? Magistrella 19:04, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Yeah it just does "pagename".png There was technically nothing "wrong" with your edit I just thought it was unnecessary. (I should note that your edit was just after User:Fowk uploaded the correct image - so it would have given the appearance of being broken before your edit + fixed afterwards - the page edit was submitted less than a minute after the file got uploaded). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:20, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
I should note that there is a lot of complex semantic mediawiki going on in the infobox too + its not as simple as you or I would prefer it to be, but it does look great + work pretty well! -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:21, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Will keep an eye open to use less coding that actually is not needed in the templates while i go compiling my crafting lists. You never stop learning! Magistrella 19:28, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
(hoping that you're still watching this space for a minute or so more..) do try and use two sets of equal signs when putting them around titles - otherwise the text is superbig! -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:38, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
There is a technical reason for this: the article title at the top of the page is displayed as a level 1 header (<h1>). Thus, all headings within the page should be subordinate to that title, so the highest level that should be used is <h2>. The number of = symbols used correlates to the level of header. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:44, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

This time im not here about an item but rather a question about Item descriptions. I am currently fixing up the guild rifle page and was wondering. Ingame it says: "This rifle will not display emblem[...]". On the pages of the weapons the description says "[...]will not display an emblem[...]". Do we want to stay grammatically correct or citation correct? Personally I'd keep the an but im wondering how to handle it in the future. Magistrella 23:12, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Though the "wiki-way" would be to delete the "an" off the wikipage, and add just a {{sic}} tag with the note that the "an" is missing ingame, I've done what I'd do if I was quoting from a source in one of my essays, that is I'd put the missing/unsaid bit in square brackets. (+ I've added the sic tag). The alternative is to ignore it and run away :P -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:30, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
I can't stand running away if all i have to do is add something in it ^^ - will add the sic to all the other guild weapons as they are all missing the [an] ingame. Magistrella 23:32, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

It's not about Icons anymore but who cares, if we dont have a chat thats the only way i can talk to you ^^ - The necklace description ingame really says "a beaded[...]" not "A beaded[...]". You just hit my OCD but i try to control the urge to revert it as it doesnt really matter~ Magistrella 20:32, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

better now? :D -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:33, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
yay i can go back to my football match now without the urge in my fingertips ^^ Magistrella 20:35, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

well

I was going add a notice and change the Hot discussions section. Guess I don't have to now :P--Relyk ~ talk > 18:53, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

:P I figured I might as well add the notice myself since you had added the redirects to that page! (also lol I hadn't seen there were two reddit threads complaining about zealous wiki editors, both turned out to be me) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:54, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
I was hoping we would avoid another incident with preview codes again after the incident with the autistic troll anon adding chat codes to pages. I knew chat link format is stupid to navigate to, I added chat code for my shortcut. At least there's no Reddit thread about tagging the mesmer combo page for deletion. All the reddit people think you're an admin/mod iirc.--Relyk ~ talk > 19:09, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Its funny how upload-file-spam gets interpreted as admin activity. Perhaps the "I'm an admin on GWW" gets mistaken for this wiki :/ -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:13, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

"these Transmutation Stone items all have appearances"

They do? First I've heard of that. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 23:40, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Well, they all have images, which instantly look better in a gallery. The items in that category all had psudo-gallery images. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:42, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
OOOOH. Those aren't transmuation stones, they're skins. The only transmutation stones are on Transmutation Stone. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 23:47, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok, well make the fixes as you see fit, I've a self-imposed policy of not adjusting any of the ingame types/levels on things since I have zero expertise ingame. (yeah I remember adding the consumable skins option a while back :p ) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:48, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
Fixed. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 23:51, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

It really does depend on whether I can arrange a summer placement :/ (I should know by march whether or not it will work out.. a negative result may end up with my buying gw2)-Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 13:15, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Any ideas on how to format tabs inserted by javascript?

Problem corner on the user-page tab

I'd hoped that I could solve it by adding the css #p-cactions li#gw2wt-user.page { border-top-left-radius: 0.536em; } to either my css or the GW2WT.css, but the square corner won't budge. Any ideas anyone? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:22, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Blame that one on me. CSS class and id selectors cannot have dots in them, so gw(2)wt-user.page is just a bad choice for the id. Change that, and it will work. poke | talk 16:31, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Ahah, thank you very much - I'll go see if I can make the appropriate changes then :) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:30, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

{{bug}}

Maybe you can figure out why the table for the bug template get's caught in the infobox div, don't know how to say it otherwise, like on Dazzling.--Relyk ~ talk > 16:41, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

hmm. the inserted clear tag causes the lower line to go beneath the infobox. I could delete the clear, I'm not sure why its there in the first place tbh. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:02, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
ok I've deleted the extra break, working fine on internet exploder + firefox. (maybe check other browsers?) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:07, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

I don't want to do it

k I can do it, tomorrow. 18 hrs time. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 00:59, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
I think it looks better if columns go name/objective/hover. pling User Pling sig.png 01:06, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
I agree, like listing the game description in skill tables.--Relyk ~ talk > 01:20, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Changed my mind, stayed up late. Template is good to go I reckon. I haven't tested it beyond checking the example works (which it did).
Name Objective Description
Perhaps you could come up with a sensible "template not working because user hasn't filled in boxes" to replace "you lost the game" -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 01:34, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Leave it blank?--Relyk ~ talk > 01:51, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Blanked the other variables if blank - it won't be helpful if the guy typing in the event names gets it wrong though, they won't have any method of knowing which one is incorrect. thoughts? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 09:22, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Make it generate a blank row. You can map that back to your parameters to tell which one made the blank row. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:01, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
{{STDT}} behaves wierdly if you leave blank rows, so I've put some numbers for the missing rows. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:20, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
I’m confused; why does this even need a template? The dailies will be cycling anyway, so it’s easier to just list them all once and then explain which are the current ones. poke | talk 17:33, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
I need an example of what you mean. Do you mean just copypasting stuff around?--Relyk ~ talk > 04:05, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
I was more thinking along the lines “These are all achievements that can appear in the rotation [list of achievements with details, hover etc] ... and today’s achievements are the ones highlighted”. Or they are listed again afterwards, or if the cycle turns out to be short enough again (it does not look like it), we have a matrix displaying the days one achievement is available on again. poke | talk 19:57, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
The template is technically highlighting the current daily achievements among a list of possible achievements. You can generate the entire list by just typing in the in the variable names into a table, I updated my sandbox page for the example. An implementation of a matrix would also require a template, although I don't see the value of displaying the days one achievement is available.--Relyk ~ talk > 21:15, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Look at this masterpeice

{{heart rewards}}--Relyk ~ talk > 10:26, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Looks complex, why not subtract 1 from the switch statement outputs + remove the "-1" term in the expr line below? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:39, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Brief answer: The values start at level 1 instead of level 0.--Relyk ~ talk > 18:43, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

{{heart table}}, needs less whitespace.--Relyk ~ talk > 23:54, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

looks fine to me, care to use a pic to illustrate where the whitespace is appearing? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 00:09, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the adjustment to that table, it was a bit annoying that some sections weren't opening collapsed. It's pretty good, I like things like this that help track of the large lists of what you've completed, especially when they can be compressed down. Vahkris 14:21, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Yeah no problem. It should have looked like that originally. ...for some reason that I can't find, it still doesn't work exactly as I intended it to if I don't enter certain piece of information, maybe I'll tinker with it another time. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 15:50, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
I'd like to add my thanks for resizing my pic, I'm still a wiki noob. Simooshy 15:18, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
:D no problem. you can find loads of formatting methods by just editing random pages + seeing what they're made from. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 15:33, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

fun shit

Apparently if you login to "http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page" its not the same as logging in to "http://wiki-en.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page". Aren't cookies fun. which page was a problem? (just tested the template, worked ok on a number of test pages. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:00, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
Errr it was because race wasn't specified (File:Unknown_.jpg), link doesn't work if the image doesn't exist I think. But using a placeholder image is still dumb, it doesn't encourage people to upload an actual image.--Relyk ~ talk > 23:59, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

We could use unknown race images, just put a note at the bottom or top saying same thing as red link /sigh--Relyk ~ talk > 05:12, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

dialogue templates

I would figure you or someone would've made some after all this time.--Relyk ~ talk > 23:07, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

You mean to format stuff like Seraph_Soldier_(Directions)#Dialogue? There isn't really any advantage to using a template for the indents, and the icons are already in templates... not sure why anyone would bother. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 00:36, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
