- It's inconvenient to swap back and forth for 40 every time, so best to just have 2 maxed crafts on each character and stay there.
- No reason to max the same craft more than once.
- Exp gain from crafting is reduced due to the Ascended tier (7 levels, not 10).

- From 425 to 500 requires discovering approximately 28 exotics.
- From 450 to 500 requires discovering approximately 20 exotics.
- Refinement stops giving experience at 425.
- Artificer can get to 450 crafting potions and runes.
- Armorsmith, Leatherworker, and Tailor can get to 440ish crafting 20 slot bags. Regular bags and the special ones (Invisible, etc) have the same required crafting level, so they give identical amounts of crafting experience. However, since normal Orichalcum/Gossamer/Hardened Leather bags are functionally identical, it only makes sense to craft whichever of those is cheapest. It's still possible to get buyers for all three types, but the target market is lower, since only a fool would spend more money than he needs to for the same item.
- Artificer, Huntsman, and Weaponsmith can craft Toxic consumables from 450-500; this is cheaper than exotics, but the recipes are no longer available and are very expensive on the trading post.
- Ascended materials (such as Bloodstone Bricks) stop giving experience at 475. They give poor experience anyway, due to being considered refinements. However, since they are shared across professions and need to be crafted "eventually", ascended materials are a good "filler" craft when materials to craft exotics are not available.
