Monk.[edit]
I doubt monk is in probably ele,mesmer,necro for spellcasters.--IcyyyBlue ♥♥ 03:13, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- We haven't really seen an example of a necromancer in concept art or otherwise yet, and I really doubt that there won't be an at least monk-like class mostly devoted to healing and protection, the only error I could think is that the second soldier is actually some sort of medic, thus making room for the three spellcasters you mentioned. Eive Windgrace 03:23, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- I do see your point. But I have heard from many users and interviews there their will be personal healing and that you wont be able to be full healer(monk)--IcyyyBlue ♥♥ 04:39, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, all characters have personal healing, but to be forced to be your own healing would distract you from whatever your character's main purpose is, which would make the game frustrating. An elementalist doesn't want to have stop casting Air Magic spells just because 2 enemies decided to target her so she has to spam her heal, I think the devoted healing skill will only be useful playing solo, but with larger groups a more dedicated healer who isn't trying to do damage (unlike a warrior, who's main focus is damage) would be needed. Eive Windgrace 06:33, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- As much as I love the monk, I'm pretty sure IcyyyBlue is right. However, as I have said before, I'm quite certain the 2nd soldier profession is similar in effect to that of a paragon; basically some sort of healing/supporting role possibly with some melee skills as well. As much as I like Monks, ANet seems to basically be trying to eliminate the constant dependency on monks. I mean, in GW1 your team was only as good as the monk you had. If you didn't have a monk you were at a serious disadvantage and shouldn't have any expectation to survive in PvP. I think ANet disliked that because it made it like "I can't do [insert quest/mission here] because I don't have a dedicated healer with me", and tbh it shouldn't be like that. I mean, I understand people occasionally finding it helpful to have a supportive/healing profession with them, but for these healers to become essential part of a PvP team and an almost-as-essential part of some PvE missions just sort of throws off the balance of things. --Amannelle 12:25, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- I suppose you're probably right, but I still have hopes and wishes for GW2, and monks happen to be on the list. As much as some people may not like the dependency on a dedicated healer, I would much prefer that over me being my own source of protection and healing, I still believe that if I'd have to constantly stop attacking with my warrior just to heal myself I'd find the game rather frustrating. Many warriors in GW1 never liked/used the defensive skills in popular builds because it was more beneficial to simply keep attacking while you have a monk on your back making sure you don't take too much damage. Now if Anet can come up with some great, efficient compromise between a monk and solo healing, all power to them, but if not then I'd rather see a monk in the party over someone repeatedly spamming their healing skill just to counter burning. Eive Windgrace 23:51, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- I think they have it as a certain number of skills(i think just 1) is set to healing urself though you can have more. and yes it would get frustrating i wish their was monks so i can make my monk that i deleted 600 times again lol:P but i hope the spell casters are older and if they are new then make them cool and not a rip off of an old profession.--♥Icyyy♥ 03:03, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

- GW2Guru: It’s been implied that there may not be a ‘dedicated healer’ class in the game. Is that a role that some classes will excel at filling, or will that form of defense be spread across a team?--♥Icyyy♥ 04:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for that interview link Icyyy, I haven't seen this one before, got to read it now of course. :) Eive Windgrace 06:58, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- Alright, after reading that (how old is that btw?) I decided the healing they're talking about is basically the "compromise" I was mentioning. A strong powerful healing skill seems like a nice in-between for monks and spammable invincibility, as long as they can keep the skills balanced and consistent between all of the professions/races. From what Eric said, it does seem like monks won't be included into the game, but I know the second character I'll make will be some sort of Water Magic Ele simply because I like being able to heal other characters while providing snares and minor damage. :P Eive Windgrace 07:13, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- It's been out for a little while now, but not too long. If there are others you think you may be missing, you're welcome to check here. :) It shows numerous articles and interviews. :) enjoy! --Amannelle 16:55, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- Woot! Thanks Amannelle, I don't think I've missed too many, but just accidentally skimmed over important details and such. Eive Windgrace 08:23, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't even know there was a new interview out(May 29th) haha. Amannelle is a genius(i would know:P)..he makes me feel stupid sometimes P:--♥Icyyy♥ 11:05, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Whats with the new user and stuff? Got tired of having the windgrace there or something? I just felt that if someone was serching for you they would just use Eive?--Corsair@Yarrr 05:00, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

@Yarrr 05:37, 7 June 2010 (UTC)- So then, what are my rights on the wiki? I just wanted to claim the name Eive since I figured no one would mind. :P Also, does uploading files appear on recent changes, cause I wanted to start a little project up but I don't want to piss anyone off by clogging RC up. Eive Windgrace 05:43, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- Honestly, I have no clue about our rights ^.^ And I personally don't mind, but you could have just signed yourself as Eive instead. And yes, uploading files does appear on the rc page. I'm sure no one would mind at this time of night though. Just look at all those edits that Konig did to his userpage. Now is perfect--Corsair

Your userpage[edit]
it breaks the wiki interface. I had a look at it, my first guess was unclosed <div> tags... but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm not sure why is breaking it, but it needs to be remodeled or fixed. --hnzdvn 17:43, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

- its fine now, but the with dots you cant change the size, though with line borders, they automaticly shape-shift to the correct size. --Neil • 15:01, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
