Template talk:Inventory infobox

Having an infobox that labels something as "oiled" or "invisible" doesn't really do any good, since those terms themselves aren't self-explanatory. If anything, entering those terms should put up default descriptions like "Items in this box will never appear in a sell-to-vendor list and will not move when inventory is sorted." etc. With the combination of Slots field and Property field, we should never have to type in a description. Slots field puts in that number followed by "slots." then the description pops up based on whatever Property is input. Bang, done. Property should not be displayed, it should only be part of the code (like Historical, etc) Wombatt 23:11, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Good idea. I will update this if find time the next days. - Yandere Talk to me... 06:22, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Bag Type?[edit]

Is there a benefit to categorizing the Bag Type (bag, box, pack)? This doesn't seem any more beneficial than, say, categorizing if shoe armor is a sandal or a boot — Burfo User Burfo avatar.jpg 23:14, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

You know who can craft this stuff. The Problem is that bag is a catch all category and not really equal with packs and boxes, so every item you find will be classified as bag. - Yandere Talk to me... 06:22, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Instead of outputting Pack, Box, Bag, etc, have it output Leatherworker tango icon 20px.png, Tailor tango icon 20px.png, or Armorsmith tango icon 20px.png and a difficulty, based on the number of slots input. Wombatt 16:32, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Also a good suggestion. What do you do ith the thing isn't crafted by anyone? - Yandere Talk to me... 16:35, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Default to merchant? Wombatt 16:56, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
If you want to show whom can craft it, then it should capture that data, rather than ask someone to provide part of the item name so the template can derive it. Though, the recipe already has this information. — Burfo User Burfo avatar.jpg 04:34, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Merge[edit]

Just wondering if there was a specific reason why there's an extra infobox just for bags and packs instead of using the {{item infobox}}? -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 06:17, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Special infobox entries specific to bags: #slots and special property. Same reason as all other item-type infoboxes. It's not really a whole lot of special stuff compared to, say, weapons or armor, but I personally like specialized infoboxes because they do a good job of compartmentalizing the type-specific information. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 06:30, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
