Overcharge?[edit]
do we use overcharge or toggle? --Xu Davella 14:52, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- Don't we have at least one good picture of one of these things? Zolann The Irreverent 00:53, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

You can deploy more than one turret now?[edit]
The wording of the Engineer trait Protective Turrets seems to say that we can now deploy more than one turret: "You gain toughness for each deployed turrets." --Messenger 11:04, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
- I was under the impression of that it's always been possible to deploy one turret of each type. So, at most, you can have four; one healing turret and three utility skill turrets. Mediggo 11:21, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Size scaling[edit]
Does anyone know if turrets scale according to size of charachter. Eg a Norn gets a massive turret, and asura gets tiny ones. Becuase on one hand an asura might look stupid carrying a turret like 5 times its size and a norn look stupid carrying a wimpy little turret. But on the otherhand, if you are playing norn and the turret looks tiny to you in pvp, you might not be able to distinguish what type of turret it is, thus giving the engineer a tactical advantage in playing asura.
Can anyone clear up or provide further information regarding any of the issues highlighted? 80.42.156.180 21:08, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
probably a little late but, no. as far as i know and seen turrets from other players dont have diffrent sizes. they all looked the same to me.torqueblue 05:44:06 9/21/2012
attacking[edit]
do turrets auto-attack foes in range or are they stupid like gw1 spirits? just wondering if you can create a turret pile and then attack or need to start attacking after first to get them going before making more. Justice 05:12, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- tested this, they seem to attack any reds in range. well tested with rifle, rocket and thumper turrets on pvp island and red golems were attacked without me having to start fighting first. Justice 03:14, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- ya they do that. they seem to attack anything thats in range rather then in view. my rifle and rocket turret kept attacking a risen guy behind a tree and was getting "obstruction". probably should fix that but hey if they take the heat off of me i guess i can't really whine about it. it just makes me have to be careful about where i throw down turrets when im in a group.torqueblue 05:49:33 9/21/2012
Criticals[edit]
Anyone know: Can turrets crit? Do they use your Precision to increase critical chance? Do they produce effects from traits or sigils like Precise Sights, if they do crit? --JohnnyCat 18:08, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
Self-destruct[edit]
Did the self-destructing of turrets after 5 minutes appear in Anet's Update Release Notes? The update to turrets must have happened in late March, as I see a note was added to the wiki page about it around that time.
I hadn't played the engineer for several weeks and was extremely annoyed when I discovered it just now, as the cycle time of all turrets except Rifle is very long and this change leaves us badly exposed. I understand making turrets disappear when the engineer departs the scene, but it's really bad when they self-destruct right next to you just when you need them. If the goal was turret cleanup without impacting negatively on the profession, they should have accompanied the self-destruct by an instant recycle of the skill. As it stands, it's a major nerf of the engineer. Morgaine 21:10, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

- Thanks. Morgaine 22:00, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
IMHO this should have only happened based on an idle time (ie player is afk letting turrets do all the work) and also a distance (ie player moves really far from the turret). The 5 min timeout is really bad when you're running a turret build and in the middle of a fight you're winning you suddenly loose because all your turrets explode at the same time. Bosses[edit]
Turrets don't target bosses, do they? I've deployed them against Golem Mk II and Shatterer - they were very interested in sniping mobs at Golem and briefly picked up long enough to ding a crystal at Shat, but otherwise they just sat there, useless. --Terzaerian (talk) 06:00, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
Turrets using power[edit]
I see my turrets damage changing when I increased power. This happened after the update "blood and madness". Can someone else confirm?
- I just tried in wvw, and found the tooltips for my turrets didn't change at all when I put more power in. How exactly do you modify turret dmg? or is it static regardless of character stats?
Turrets = allies?[edit]
Do turrets count as allies for the purposes of things like ranger spirits? --137.50.165.179 11:40, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- No, it's an object, not an NPC. —Dr Ishmael 13:06, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Why is Power Wrench in the list? It doesn't do anything with turrets in particular! 82.57.139.238 00:11, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
- Good catch! That was a remnant from its old function, which you can see on Power Wrench. Thank for noticing! —Ventriloquist 06:39, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
