Talk:Turai Ossa
Hall of Monuments[edit]
Could anybody check to see if the dialogue is different for players without an account linked to the Hall of Monuments? The "familiar spirit" dialogue is very similar to Dunkoro's HoM-only dialogue. --Teletric.3821 (talk) 14:09, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
The Lore Discrepancy[edit]
While we aid the Ghostly Hero passing onto the Hall of Heroes in Guild Wars after he has aided us in achieving Ascension, are we sure the Ghostly Hero remained in the Hall of Heroes? There is a bit of dialogue with the Ghostly Hero in the Tomb of the Primeval Kings where he says
"Chaos reigns at the Tomb of the Primeval Kings! I never thought I would see the day. For centuries I have joined forces with those bold ones who sought to reach the Hall of Heroes from these sacred grounds... and I was doing just that when the world went mad. One moment I was moving to claim the center of the Hall; the next, darkness filled my vision and twisted nightmarish creatures erupted from everywhere at once. My allies were besieged, and I could not reach them... all I could do was fight my way through the darkness to get to the world outside. Their dying screams still ring in my spectral ears. These abominations must be stopped. They cannot be allowed to reach and corrupt any more gateways into the Hall of Heroes."
Does this perhaps open up for the possibility the Ghostly Hero got to the Hall of Heroes, but then had to retreat due to encountering the three Darknesses there? Of course, it does provide little explanation as to why he would now be back at the Throne of Pellentia in the Shallows of Despair, instead of still residing in the Tombs of the Primeval Kings. Just trying to get to the bottom of this and wanted some clarification/discussion. NorthernerDS (talk) 12:27, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- We cannot be sure the Ghostly Hero in the Tombs outpost is Turai Ossa, however. Nor is there any reason to believe that said Ghostly Hero would not return to the Hall of Heroes after the Darknesses were defeated. Nor do we have any reason to believe he would require passing through the Tombs in order to reach the Hall of Heroes - ghosts can pass onto the Mists from wherever they are.
- Ultimately, any attempt to explain the discrepancy on our end is just speculation all the same. We were told that Turai would move onto the Hall of Heroes, even gww:The Flameseeker Prophecies says that his passage was "ensured" with our actions. But yet he is not there, with no explanation given. Konig (talk) 13:48, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- That book actually says that we assured Turai Ossa's passage to the Hall of Heroes. We know that the Ghostly Hero in ToPK made it to the Hall of Heroes, but we also know that he got kicked right back out due to Dhuum's minions. We also know that the Ghostly Hero had to pass into the Mists via ToPK or the portal in the Tombs of Drascir (at least if he wanted to make it to the Hall of Heroes) because that's how PvP worked before the Battle Isles were added. We also know that Turai Ossa was still around in 1078 AE, three years after Nightfall, because he appears in the Norn Fighting Tournament.
- Although we cannot categorically be sure the Ghostly Hero in ToPK is Turai Ossa, it seems extreme to assume that he isn't. –Santax (talk · contribs) 14:23, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- "For centuries I have joined forces with those bold ones who sought to reach the Hall of Heroes from these sacred grounds" That line rather shows the Tombs ghost is not Turai, otherwise he'd have been able to take his place in the Hall of Heroes without need of the Chosen. We know there's more than one Ghostly Hero after all. But he is indeed at the Norn Fighting Tournament, but also states he has returned from the Mists for that tournament (oddly) - ""Go to the Underworld? I just came back from there!"". This may be temporary or a permanent return to Tyria, but would be odd. The entire tournament was, ultimately, just a case of bringing major NPCs to fight regardless of logic behind their appearance (why would Joko, Danika, or hell, Old Mac be there and care about the tournament?). Personally I never took the Norn Fighting Tournament seriously to lore. Point being, we were told he'd move onto the Hall of Heroes, but he's suddenly here. Konig (talk) 17:11, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
