Upbeat/Vague/Sombre dialogues[edit]

I've grouped the text slightly differently to before.

  • It looks like the citizen dialogue is mostly dependent on whether you chose the same choice option twice, with three other options thrown in if you've got a mixture depending on the "score". (positive [peace at least], neutral [we're with you], or negative [what'd she say]
  • It looks like the ending has a slightly higher weighting (e.g. if Upbeat=+1, Vauge=+0, Somber=-1, then the ending gets +2/+0/-2, which gives you a positive [but didn't you just say], neutral [you lost me], or negative [wait what?] ending).

I'd try and find more patterns but it is hard to tell without all the data. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:53, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Cleanup Proposal - Subpage For Dialogue[edit]

That dialogue section is now, by eyeball estimate, ten times the length of the rest of the page, thanks in no small part to all of the speech permutations. Perhaps it's time to split it off into its own subpage? -Azure Fang (talk) 10:04, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

I'm not really sure what benefit that would have other than an extra click. It's already at the bottom of the page. So it'd only be a hindrance if you're after the nav box, the My Story box, or categories. And those are at the VERY bottom so those aren't hard to scroll to and find. Konig (talk) 14:48, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
A compromise might be to hide each section of the dialogue in a collapsible div. --Idris (talk) 15:43, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
I've always considered "fluff" sections (trivia, dialogue, etc.) that become longer than the rest of the page to be... I suppose tacky is the best word I can use to describe it. The article feels unnecessarily bloated and, in personal opinion, ugly. A similar split was done for Priory_Historian_Elisa/Dialogue, leaving the meat of the article on the main page and moving the (also long) dialogue permutations to the sub. But collapsibles my work just as well. Again, this is all aesthetics opinion, thus why I opened discussion rather than acting. -Azure Fang (talk) 12:41, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
In the case of Elisa, that's historical dialogue (though we may find that it is cyclic like Nicholas the Traveler in GW1) and is not (always) available to readers. We split all historical dialogue this way, largely to clearly differentiate between current and historical dialogue. I would disagree that dialogue is fluff as it is a major component of the game's content, especially of story missions. I could see the merit of dividing the speech into multiple collapsible sections like we collapse parts of the PS dialogue that gets differentiated by NPC presence (in turn determined by story or biography choices). But overall I disagree with simply separating dialogue because "too long" since it comprises the majority of the article (especially in this article's situation given the walkthrough is barely a paragraph) and there's nothing that can get lost due to its length. Soundtrack[edit]

What's the soundtrack that plays during this part, notably during the (upbeat) speech? I can't find it anywhere. BTW, putting soundtracks somewhere at the bottom of articles could be a thing on pages about story missions. 77.165.250.227 18:48, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

Have you tried checking the PoF song list found on the Soundtrack page? My guess is it should be there providing we know the name of it. - Doodleplex 18:55, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
I recall seeing such a suggestion for soundtrack listing per story story mission before, and it could be a worthy addition. As a fan of GW music I wouldn't mind seeing such a section added myself, and I'd be happy to help identifying which tracks play where. Unfortunately ANet is quite liberal at using tracks not only from GW2 OST but various GW1 OSTs as well (both released and unreleased nameless tracks), often even using unique tracks from GW2 that haven't been made available on the 4-disc GW2 OST, so sometimes identifying them with proper names may take time. If my memory serves me, the "upbeat" speech in Amnoon is accompanied by what players have been calling the "Purification" theme, which is sadly one of those aforementioned vanilla GW2 tracks not on the OST so we don't have an official name for it (yet). --Kossage (talk) 19:30, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, someone else on Youtube pointed me towards that video before I saw this but thanks for the answer and effort; you're correct. There was apparently a longer version on Youtube before but it's gone now. Anyhow, it not being a named track would of course exclude it from being noted on this page until they release it officially. The benefit I see in listing soundtracks on pages of missions and perhaps even areas is that it would no doubt become a community effort. People like me who listen to the soundtrack a lot will recognize the tunes quite easily. 77.165.250.227 17:25, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Priestess[edit]

Was the Priestess aka Z added with A Star to Guide Us (most probably yes)? I just checked the instance just to be sure she is there, and yeah. ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 09:53, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

If she was added beforehand, that was one heck of a sneaky addition since no one saw it until after A Star to Guide Us. Konig (talk) 11:33, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

Alternate post speech responses[edit]

I took the options Somber-Vague-Vague and the scattered NPCs (Citizen, Cavalier, Troublemaker) had different lines. It's possible there's one for each ending mood or one for each of the 4/6 reactions (from crowd or from Councilor) if anyone else wants to contribute additional quotes and conditions to help figure it out. Citizen: Don't worry. If you're good with weapons, you don't need to be good with words. Cavalier: Well, I guess what's done is done. It is what it is. Life goes on. Troublemaker: Wow, I could've given a better speech with both hands tied behind my back. ~ Plainsrunner 11:36, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Feedback 2021/10/25[edit]

Achievement 'Raise the Banners: Salute to Palawa Joko' step 'Palawa's Personal Tapestry' is done in this story instance. --Mowmowkins (talk) 18:17, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
