Talk:List of guardian skills
Other skills[edit]
This interview http://www.gamekult.com/actu/itw-guild-wars-2-le-gardien-A0000090056.html (in French) mentions a skill called Protector's strike (this is the official English name of the skill, since skills are untranslated) which "creates a bubble around the Protector and his allies that will block the next attack". Is there any other sources as to what type of skill that is ? (My guess is it's a weapon skill, but for which weapon is not mentioned). -Alarielle- 17:46, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Could possibly be a focus skill. - Lucian Shadowborn 18:49, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- And that could possibly be speculation :S Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 18:50, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Where does the information about the Sacntuary elite skill come from ? 195.132.201.136 21:04, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- It came from an IRC between guru and the devs. Aqua (talk)(contribs) 21:11, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Couldn't we go ahead and add Tome of Courage to the list of elites? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7crErSlSmak 99.194.121.108 18:28, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Venom's Guardian Colors[edit]
Would anyone have a problem if I used Venom's guardian color scheme for the skill tables here? It follows the general saturation of the other two currently implemented ones (and I personally find it perfect). Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 19:02, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- What do you mean Venom's color scheme ? Maybe show a sample here, it would be useful -- -Alarielle- 21:08, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Skill .gifs[edit]
Can't remember if it was decided to keep those off the page, or not. Either way, there's this guy on GW2G that made amazing .gifs of three of the skills.

What do we do with them? --Naoroji 00:05, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- they are amazing yes but they're also hard to see.--The Holy Dragons 10:16, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
"None"[edit]
Instead of none, what could we name it. It occupies a slot, just not on the skill bar. Aqua (talk|contribs) 02:49, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Well, problem numero 1 one is that they're not skills. Maybe a note at the bottom of the page? Eive 02:51, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Or maybe a "These skills do not occupy space on the skill bar, and then have a little mini table, just for them." Aqua (talk|contribs) 02:54, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Profession abilities? Specialist skills? The ele attunements are skills which are in the same situation. Currently not documented as skills though like you're trying here. -- aspectacle 02:58, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Aqua's second idea could work. Eive 02:59, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Even though I fail my above usage of quotes, I'll put them up. Aqua (talk|contribs) 03:11, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Special? (Xu Davella 03:12, 28 January 2011 (UTC))
- I have it in edit mode, but I need a name for a title... "Profession Specific Abilities" Aqua (talk|contribs) 03:16, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Symbol of Faith[edit]
Shouldn't we put Symbol of Faith in the skill 1 of Hammer skill list since they said "Cycle your skill 1 chain to drop a Symbol of Faith on the ground"? Chanw4 01:21, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Cycling it could mean it could be the 2nd part of the chain or even the third. So yea... - Infinite - talk 14:53, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, I mean swapping Symbol of Faith and Mighty Blow since we knew Symbol of Faith is in the skill 1 chain, just don't know if its the first, second or las of the chain. Chanw4 16:31, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Faithful strike[edit]
I saw the skill video of Faithful Strike and that guardian there is DEFINETLY not using a mace, but a greatsword! in the skill topic here, faithful strike figures to be the third skill in the MACE chain, that is just impossible. Additionally, I think the skill Leap of Faith should swap this skill :-? because in the video, the guardian performes a leap at the enemy, starting the skill at about 2-3 metres and jumping in a twist striking the foe. It's just my opinion so please tell me if I'm wrong, otherwise someone change that mistake :D Thank you for your attention anticipately!
--Reeen17 23:41, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- See Talk:Faithful Strike about this - ANet mislabeled the video of Leap of Faith as Faithful Strike. The information we have up there is correct, but thank you for your concern. ~Ekko (talk) 00:04, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Oh, so Anet were the ones who did the mistake.. I was giving credit to them because they develop the game after all :D thank you for answering me!

New Skills[edit]
[1] In that video there are other skills such as a utility skill Meditate: All virtues recharge instantly 98 energy 120s recharge, among others. - Giant Nuker 02:34, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- [2] This also has potential for some skills to be pulled when set to 720p. A lot of places the angle isn't that far from center, so with a bit of photoshop they can be pulled and fixed up. If no one happens to do it in a week or so, I'll give it a shot. [Daegalus - talk] 09:10, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Underwater skills[edit]
Because we now know a lot more about underwater combat, I think we should make a new table that includes the underwater weapon- and utility/healing/elite skills, in contrary to having the spear & trident with the 'regular' weapon skills. I think that will keep the page much more organized. If we do this, we should, obviously, do this with the other professions too. -- Michiel - 10:02, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- Have we got any underwater utility/healing/elite skills? Just wondering before we go and make the table. --Xu Davella 10:07, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- "That’s why, we whenever you dive beneath the surface, the skills in slots 6 through 10 automatically change to underwater skills." [3]
- This interview sais we do.-- Michiel - 10:10, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- What they mean is utility skills that are usable underwater, like Ghost Armor. If you have a skill like Bone Minions equipped, it would change to a utility skill that can actually be used. In this video right at 8 minutes in they show what I'm talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je0mT7AHKqI - 10:50, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- With very probably unable to use engineer kits in the waters, the kit skills are actually made to be terra-only utility skills. I won't be surprised to see any aqua-only utility skill coming out. At this perspective, it's becoming a question of whether we need to mark a skill which can be used on land only, in water only or in both situations. Glastium | talk 11:26, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

New Format?[edit]
Umm...why isn't the new skill page format used for guardians? It's for rangers, engineers, etc. but why not here? I really want that format here if someone could D; Woo! New format is up :D Thanks...but add it with the other skills (it's just with wep skills now...) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.76.220.66 (talk).
- I will! ;) But for now I need a break of 5 Minutes to smoke a cigarret and get down again. Its much work ;) --Wubbbi 01:51, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) I appreciate your enthusiasm but has this ever been discussed before? Glastium | talk 01:58, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- Every Skillist does this. Look at the other classes and you will see that. I will continue now. --Wubbbi 02:01, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- I mean, did the first one who start this discuss this change in the wiki community at the beginning? Because as for me, it's not a decent design since a) it doesn't look good especially when there're long skill descriptions and/or sequence skills. b) it's impossible to apply this template on elementalist weapon skills. Glastium talk 02:05, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- 1) When it does not look good to you, feel free to change the designe. Its always possible to make something look nice. 2) I am 100% sure there will be a way to add this to the elementalist. Even when we have to do a little rework. I dont know who started it first. There has been a discuss about it but I dont know where. As all classes does so ( and I did not startet ) I will continue here. But please dont edit while I am changing now. This will break all I have done for now.--Wubbbi 02:10, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- As a regular RC stalker I am pretty sure it wasn't discussed, but I appreciate users being bold all the same. I say it's time to refine these temporary tables some more (and have already caught word on users planning new designs). - Infinite - talk 02:13, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Skill Point Costs[edit]
Do you think we should add skill point costs to the table? 0 for skills you start with, or weapon skills? 71.202.165.171 03:01, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
New Elite[edit]
It seems that guardian has got new elite Renewed Focus in place of Sanctuary which is now normal skill. It recharges all virtues and grants 9 sec of Invulnerability. It's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gcyCuJn6kA&feature=youtu.be&t=8m Shan 19:19, 26 March 2012 (UTC)~
Feedback 2015/08/26[edit]
The content template on the right creates a giant gap, for lower resolutions (1440x900), between "Profession mechanic" title/text and the actual "Profession mechanic" template. This applies for all list of skills that {{TOCright}} was applied, but medium professions. --Keltz (talk) 02:44, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- The ToC can be collapsed, thus eliminating the "gap" no matter which side it's on. That's why I've never understood why TOCright is ever necessary. —Dr Ishmael 03:33, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
