Number of enemies to kill

Trying to guesstimate the number of enemies we'd need to kill to cause the Knife Tail Gang to spawn. Feel free to contribute your numbers.

Despite the in-game description, Recovered Black Lion Goods only unlock mount skins. You would still need to acquire the mounts normally. I'll add a note to clarify - Ojimaru (talk) 15:03, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/08/30

The wording below is confusing. Makes it seem like the only kind of skins you get are mount skins "Anomaly: Despite the in-game description, the Recovered Black Lion Goods obtained from these bonds only unlock mount skins. Players would still need to unlock the mounts normally."

Once used, is this character-bound or do kills by all account characters count?

Have many questions about the one I have as well, very low amount of info on this wiki entry, how long does it last? Is it per character or per account? Does the Knife Tail Gang spawn randomly in the instance? Is there any indication on the map when they do spawn? How long does each spawn last? --Skekzyz (talk) 19:48, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

Testing 2020/09/03

I used my Knife_Tail_Gang_Hunting_Bond today and tested some of the questions I've seen in the discussion here. These are remarks that could be clarified on the entry page for this item.

• Consuming the Knife_Tail_Gang_Hunting_Bond gives the character the Bonded_Hunter—Knife_Tail_Gang buff.

• I did not try logging in and out, nor swap character to check if it was present, but I did move between two zones/waypoint, and the buff persists.

• After killing a number of mobs, in my case it was 10 - accumulated across 2 zones Timberline Falls and Lornar's Pass, a single Knife Tail Gang Runner spawned.

• When the Knife Tail Gang Runner mob was killed, it dropped a Recovered Black Lion Goods container and the Bonded_Hunter—Knife_Tail_Gang buff disappeared.

Testing 29.03.2021

After buying 75 of these bonds and using 65, here's some knowledge about the bonds that might be useful for others.

Usage: They are extremely inconvenient to use. The spawn rate of the skritt was very low, at least in my case. In large events (tried Sandswept Isles South Meta, as the pre-event spawns large waves of mobs) others might kill the Skritt before you can hit it. Even if you manage to land a hit, you might not get loot. Unfortunately, this can also happen if you are alone. I've mostly experienced this on low lvl maps where you oneshot the enemies, but it also happened on lvl 80 maps. I'd assume this is a bug.

Loot: As another user mentioned in the Recovered Black Lion Goods talk page, some skins from the Exotic Breeds Mount Adoption License seem to be missing - if I'm correct, it's all Griffon skins and all Jackal skins. Did not check for other licenses as I've already unlocked some of those fully before buying the bonds. Fused Axe skin is also missing from the drop table, all other fused skins are there. After using 65 bonds, 5 of the 10 unlocks I'm still missing are 2000 gem mount skins. These seem to have an extremely low droprate, as I didn't get a single one of them in the 65 unlocks I used (had a few unlocked before using the bonds). Mount skin droprate in general does not seem to be all that much lower than other unlocks.

Update: Only after unlocking everything else did I start getting the 2k gems mount skins.
