Redirect page?[edit]

Since the new map, Draconis Mons, we have another version of "Fertile Soil (Draconis Mons)". Should the current Fertile Soil page be moved to "Fertile Soil (Mount Maelstrom)" and the Fertile Soil page act as a redirect? Or should both versions of Fertile Soil be described on this page? Currently if you are in Draconic Mons and /wiki Fertile Soil you'll never get to the proper page for it. User Judas Sig.pngudas 11:02, 6 May 2017 (UTC)

Imo, this should be moved to Mount Maelstrom, yeah. —Ventriloquist 21:48, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
I'm thinking now that they should be described on a single page, since more Fertile Soil spots have been found (at the Temple of Melandru in Cursed Shore and Upland Oasis in Dry Top). User Judas Sig.pngudas 23:22, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
Those two aren't linked to the heart object this page describes, though. We could put them on the same page, too. —Ventriloquist 23:39, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
I thought maybe something like this User Judas Sig.pngudas 00:57, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
Yep, that looks good. Just make sure to reformat the image from png -> jpg. —Ventriloquist 10:13, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I'm not a fan of how this is set up. I think it does need to be split into two pages as one is for a renown heart in one area/not linked to the achivement and the rest are part of the achievement/all over the place, because then users might complain that using the renown heart object doesn't work/is misleading for the achievement. Additionally, if the fertile soil locations specifically matter as part of an achievement, the location part of the page should be set up differently: have the specific locations on the achievement page and remove them from the locations sections here, ie similar to Shard of Caladbolg and Shards of a Thorns. - Doodleplex 18:33, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

Sure, that would be nice. At the moment though, we only know their locations, not their involvement in achievements (except for the one inside the Druid's Grotto). User Judas Sig.pngudas 18:42, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
Alright, I played around a bit. I tried making a table but it turned out quite ugly since most items don't need a map, and it lost a lot of clarity as a result (no easy overview of items since the table grew so big with the images in it). Instead, I added specific fertile soil locations to the appropriate collection item pages, such as for example Rata Arcanum Propagation. I made a proposal for a new Fertile Soil main page in my sandbox. I think that should be clear enough for a distinction between heart and non-heart soils, and then we can get rid of [[Fertile Soil (Draconis Mons)]] as well (since nobody will find that from the ingame /wiki command anyway). Yeahhh the table doesn't work well in this case, so good call on just adding the image to the trophy page. However, since the two Fertile Soil objects do have two completely different purposes and appear to have a different appearance, I am going to move this page to "Fertile Soil (Dysphoric Rim)" (since it appears there are other fertile soil locations for the achievement in Mount Maelstrom), and move the Draconis Mon Page here and tweak accordingly. It'll just be easier/less confusing for everybody since renown heart objects rarely get searched, and this will be as it's part of an achievement. - Doodleplex 23:12, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
There are no fertile soil locations in mount maelstrom for the achievement, just those for the heart. There is an achievement location, Dierdre's Orchard, but there is no mention of fertile soil nor is there an object called fertile soil in the puzzle (it's simply named Hidden Garden). I get that message in red text (in the middle of the screen and in the chat log) when I try to plant Fire Orchid Seeds at the Fertile Soil locations in Eastern Boiling Sea and Melandru's Temple.
Has there been any official announcement by ANet that gives more details on this issue? --175.145.233.16 18:10, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Planting seeds seemingly caused map-wide crashes and rollbacks of several minutes for affected players. Just wait for a bug fix, hopefully it shouldn't be long. User Judas Sig.pngudas 18:16, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Locations[edit]

Any reason why the exact location of each soil was removed? It was pretty useful information. User I Elite Starchild I Monk-tango-icon-200.png-Alarielle- (talk) 17:45, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

It's because there's a detailed "where to go" write-up and a map on the trophy page that each Fertile Soil corresponded to. - Doodleplex 17:55, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Feedback 2017/08/16[edit]

I am unsure as to whether or not every location planted with fire orchid seeds spawns primordial orchids after completion of the achievement (as I myself have not completed the achievement), however, this page does not include the fertile soil located in Mount Maelstrom from the henge away from home achievemnt. --67.198.105.251 06:37, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Yeah every locations spawns orchids. And there is no Fertile Soil in Mount Maelstrom for the Wayfarer's Henge collection. Instead, you have to interact with the Hidden Garden (object) there. User Judas Sig.pngudas 22:24, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
