Split or not to split? ,,"Klumpeet",, 20:12, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- I vote not to for now. There isn't near enough information ATM to support multiple animals. Venom20 20:14, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) We can make it a proper list or disambig or something later. Probably should make the individual bear type pages, but this can stay I think. --Kyoshi (Talk) 20:14, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) (Edit conflict) (<--asses) Dont split, its a page for the speiciese (typo fail) of bear to be documented on, for that bear itself, it should have its own respective page.--Neil • 20:15, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Swimming[edit]
I would imagine polar bears would be one of the ones able to swim. Eive 23:42, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Prolly. --Kyoshi (Talk) 14:53, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Prolly, but not confirmally ;) ,,"Klumpeet",, 14:56, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- You're all forgeting 'Merbear'... Or did I make that up? --Odal talk 14:59, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe we'll have owlbears? That would be FTW. As would be spiderbears. Zolann The Irreverent 16:12, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- From http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/110/1106052p1.html : Certain pets are bound to certain land-types. A shark, for example, is unlikely to be seen wandering through the local tavern on its fins. That said, you might see the occasional aquatic bear. "We want to give the player options whenever possible instead of restricting them and sometimes this means we sacrifice reality a bit for fun," Flannum Explains. Aquatic bears... A bit strange. Can they just 'swim' or can they go underwater as well? (later probably) ge4ce 13:16, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- It seems the same for the playable races... maybe some technology giving them breathing equipment. ,,"Klumpeet",, 14:40, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- Though, it says "aquatic." That means they can't go on land. (Irl, most bears could be considered amphibious.) -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 17:35, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think we can call that a reliable piece of information, being pure speculation done by IGN. They have received no information on aquatic bears existing, and we have seen no other hint of that even happening. I would really like to remove that bit from the terrestrial animal page.--Corsair
@Yarrr 21:40, 17 July 2010 (UTC)- Bears are certainly NOT amphibious. Amphibians 1) begin their lives underwater. 2)are coldblooded and 3) breed in water (or very moist places. It makes sense that a Ranger could have 3 pets at their disposal because a pet centered 'build' for a character that moves between environments, shouldn't be at a disadvantage.Book 22:18, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- On the Viper's Nest page, is a link to an interview that helps explain some of the problems on this page. It mentions bears and cats as being amphibious. Eive 02:19, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Amphibious doesn't mean amphibian. Otherwise the human forces that exist in reality wouldn't be called amphibious groups. Amphibious in this context means that they are able to swim as well as be on land (though usually it also refers to combat situations where the amphibious group starts their infiltration via water). -- Konig/talk 02:29, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- And also in the interview, was the mention of bears being aquatic because they they felt that bears would become a pet people would be attached to, and felt that it should be able to always be with you. Also, (possibly in a separate interview) they stated they were willing to sacrifice a bit of reality for a bit of fun, considering we can have cats and plants people both using guns in this game, I suggest you all do the same or you're going to really hate GW2. Locations[edit]
There is a list of Juvenile Brown Bear locations on the Juvenile Brown Bear page, but no list on this page. I specifically know that there is a place in Kessex Hills with a lot of brown bear NPCs labeled 'Bear' and no juvenile ones around - I would start off a location section with that if I had the slightest idea how to do it (or if I knew exactly where in KH) but I do not, and I would like there to be such a section... because it is useful.
