Name?[edit]

In Ghosts of Ascalon, he's referred to as Aesgir. Is it Asgeir or Aesgir? Someone should rename the page if there's no documentation supporting the spelling Asgeir. Foozlesprite 06:04, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Asgeir comes from a typed response from Ree. Possibly a typo. GW2Guru is not working atm, so can't check atm. -- Konig/talk 15:18, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
GW2Guru working and it is indeed stated as Asgeir there. Could be a typo on either side atm. -- Konig/talk 15:26, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Someone should hit ANet up on Twitter. I would, but I avoid that wretched place. - Infinite - talk 15:47, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Aesgir?[edit]

Ghosts of Ascalon (p266) references this character with the spelling Aesgir. Asgeir is presumably the spelling given by whoever wrote down the interview, so should these pages be merged? ,,"Klumpeet",, 07:08, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

See the above section. Also: the interview was emailed to and from ArenaNet - Ree wrote that out. -- Konig/talk 07:09, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
/smackhead OK, I suppose I'll slap a merge tag on each and wait for confirmation on either side... ,,"Klumpeet",, 07:12, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Edge of Destiny called the guy Asgeir. I think this is the accurate spelling. -- Konig/talk 03:51, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
I agree with Konig. EiveTalk 20:09, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Today's piece of norn-week info calls it Asgeir too, furthering that this is the correct spelling. I'll be merging the two articles now. -- Konig/talk 22:05, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Now on the official page he is called Aesgir. Someone should ask ANet to clarify it. 82.131.227.186 15:39, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
2 official sources vs. 2 official and 1 semi-official. Anet needs to make up their mind. -- Konig/talk 19:18, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
As you may or may not have seen, Bobby Stein pretty much confirmed that the actual name is, indeed, Asgeir. --SirrushUser Sirrush sig.jpg 16:44, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) With the Living World story Journey to Bitterfrost Frontier we have now an official in-game reference to Asgir. With that the question comes up again, if it is Asgir or Ageir. Balwin (talk) 11:21, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

I must correct myself. In the story Journey to Bitterfrost Frontier he is called Aesgir Dragonrender (not Asgir). But the question remains. What is the official name of this NPC and what should be the title of the page? Balwin (talk) 12:58, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

World's Bravest Dentist[edit]
