Source[edit]

Am I correct in assuming that for now the knowledge we have on ascended armor is from .dat-mining, and that the armor is not actually in-game yet? (Usaf1a8xx (talk) 14:47, 2 October 2013 (UTC))

[1] Not exactly data-mining, since the items are defined in the game's database and you can preview them in-game. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:56, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Inter-piece nav templates[edit]

I created {{Ascended armor nav}} yesterday, since the content of the navigators between pieces of the same prefix (e.g. the Forgemaster's light, med and heavy helm/shoulders.../boots). I just thought it might be worth asking if we want to use a generic template like this across all the pieces or would rather make a fixed template (like so many pieces have already linked to). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:31, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Detail[edit]

maybe a small detail wich kind anoyed me as I bought the recipy... in the list you see the stats but they do not mention the offensive or defensive infusion slots... maybe worth adding that info also on wiki? Appearance[edit]

Do the light/med/heavy sets look different? In which case we should keep the gallery link at the top of the page, and delete the gallery below the stats bit.

Otherwise, if they look the same, then we should delete the gallery link at the top and keep the gallery at the bottom. :p -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:43, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Stats?[edit]

What are the stats on ascended armor? - Brian Kendig (talk) 04:04, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Light Set[edit]

Nobody is going to say it? Okay I will WHY THE F HELL THE LIGHT ARMOR COSTS 40% MORE THEN ANY OTHER. SERIOUSLY. this is intended and wrong. --31.183.14.83 10:02, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Satchel[edit]

Is is possible to craft a satchel of these armors?--SlatzG (talk) 15:21, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Since ascended gear is account bound....[edit]

What happens when you transmute a cultural armor skin onto an ascended armor piece and then pass it to a character of a different race but the same armor class? 98.193.124.175 11:13, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

They won't be able to wear it due to the cultural difference. —Ventriloquist 19:45, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Time-Gated components[edit]

Please add Charged Quartz Crystal as one of the time gated components alongside mithrillium, silk weaving thread etc.

Most annoying using this page as a guide and having everything ready only to find I need to wait another 5 days because the crafting section makes no mention of charged quartz crystals. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.142.183.220 (talk) at 19:36, 3 November 2015 (UTC).

Those are only used by the celestial insignia. It's not pertinent to ascended armor in general. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:24, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Attribute Change Not for Quad Attribute Items[edit]

I could not change Hronk's (a triple attribute armor) to Pahua's Ascended Trailblazer (a quad attribute armor) using the Trailblazer's Intricate Gossamer Insignia. I am unsure whether that can be extended to:

  • All Tri->Quad is invalid
  • All Quad can't be created using this technique
  • Something else

Separ (talk) 00:48, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Apparently a known problem for Trailblazer's: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/BUG-Trailblazer-s-Stat-Swap-Merged Separ (talk) 01:23, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Feedback 2016/04/30[edit]

is the amount of ascended materials correct? I think the damask patch increases the amount of ascended materials needed. --96.127.230.7 01:34, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

The patches are included in the total. Each set needs 18 patches, which needs 18 elonian and damask, and then each set has their own specific totals added (18 dam 6 elo for cloth, 6 dam 18 elo for leather, 7 dam 16 deld for metal) --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 05:34, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

Needs links[edit]

There needs to be a link to the basic armor page for each type. For example, "Marauder" should be a link (to the page that says you can't get it).

It would also be a really good idea to footnote the fact that you cannot obtain some specific armor set (see Marauder armor's page). Daddicus (talk) 20:31, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Well, let's untease this mess which Anet made.
  1. Marauder is a regular stat prefix like Viper.
  2. There's an old set of armour called Marauder armor, which can only partially be obtained.
    • It has nothing to do with ascended armour, yet it inconveniently shares its name with a likely search term on this wiki.
Joy... If nomenclature in GW2 made sense, it wouldn't have been made my Anet ; ). G R E E N E R 19:53, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
OK, that makes sense.
But, it would still be nice if the lists were links instead of plain text. Just for other reasons. :) Daddicus (talk) 23:54, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
True, but we also need to ensure that the links are meaningful to the users (i.e. meets their expectations). If we link "Viper" the stat to Viper's armor, there would be a disconnect as well as an inconsistency, given how "Berserker" wouldn't have an equivalently named armour set.
Alternatively, we could buy Anet some thesauruses. G R E E N E R 08:48, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I'm disappointed you didn't use 'thesauri', as a plural, Greener. —Ventriloquist 18:44, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
*Montage of me slowly leaving town, kicking a rock ahead of me as I go.* I tried, you know. I really tried. G R E E N E R 19:15, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
OK, then we could just make links for ones that have a page describing them. Maybe? Daddicus (talk) 23:05, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
This seems like something that should belong in the Attribute combinations page instead of here. Intricity (talk) 20:05, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
Could be. All I know is that I don't know how to do it. Daddicus (talk) 01:32, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

Unbound magic - Wegloop[edit]

Can we add the fact that Wegloop's head items can be purchased for unbound magic and winterberries from Slooshoo in Bitterfrost Frontier? As far as I know these are the only ascended armor items that can be purchased with unbound magic like the trinkets. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 105.246.70.97 (talk) at 20:25, 14 April 2017 (UTC).

Craftable[edit]

I would like to propose adding a craftable column to the big tables. It should note whether the recipes are available for purchase or only through gameplay.

For example, Marauder armor can be crafted via recipes available from a master crafter. But, Grieving requires getting a (rare?) drop. Daddicus (talk) 22:17, 29 April 2018 (UTC)

Inconsistency[edit]

On this page, in the table under Vendor (the one with five entries), it says in the #1 footnote that stats depend on which expansions you own. But, on the Wegloop's Air Helmet's page, plaguedoctor and grieving are not in the list, which I think invalidates what's in that footnote.

Which is correct? (I don't have enough winterberries to get one right now, so I can't test it myself.) Daddicus (talk) 06:21, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
