Little is known of the details of Maginamics, except that the Seventh Law of Maginamics posits that magic cannot be created nor destroyed and is infinite. Professor Gorr, an expert who has been monitoring global magic levels, controversially posited in 1325 AE that Elder Dragons consume magic, and that this shows that magic is in fact a limited resource like water, ore, or timber. He called this his "theory of draconic enchanto-consumption". Subsequent work by the Durmand Priory, Taimi, and others, have shown that while Elder Dragons do consume magic, this magic is later re-released into the world, either passively as the the dragons enter a dormant state, or actively along the ley lines as they are killed (at the time of Gorr's theory, no Elder Dragon had yet been killed in modern times).
- The Seventh Law of Maginamics seems to be a reference to the first law of thermodynamics, which in physics is a statement of conservation of energy.
