This event fails and the assault event chain resets to defending Northpasture/Southforge at Cloven Hoof Pass if the two lieutenants and Captain Edwards are defeated (each in turn will yell "Retreat!" as they are defeated). At the beginning of the event Lt. Smyles is often drawn by the retreating centaurs onto the upper terrace where he will be easily overwhelmed by the initial counter rush of attacking centaurs. Should Smyles be defeated attacking centaurs will spawn lower in the camp, making the defense of Geigal and Edwards much more difficult with small parties.

Event start
Captain Edwards: Look alive, people! Our scouts are reporting Modniir forces coming from the mountains.
Captain Edwards: We must hold here!
Event success
Captain Edwards: Nice work! You made me proud, but stay sharp.
Captain Edwards: We don't know when they'll return. They always come back for more.
