Jotun Greatswords are a two-handed weapon bundle. Jotuns wielding this weapon will sometimes throw it, and they will attempt to recover it. If they can't reach it, they will attack with their fists instead. One exception to this is the Champion Jotun Magekiller who will recover its weapon whether it can reach it or not.
