The Ice Elemental[edit]

In beta, if you failed to close the portals within the allotted time, the ice elemental pictured in the image on this page would appear. I know because this happened to me in beta. Unfortunately I'm not on a low traffic server right now, and I can't test to see if this is still the case since the portals are always closed in time. I'm wondering someone on a low traffic server can test this for me? If not, I'll try it out during an obscure time of the day when nobody is playing. If this is still the case, then people need to know about it so they can avoid closing the portals in order to fight the bigger boss. If it's incorrect, we might want to remove the picture of the Ice Elemental since it's outdated. -CrazyRabidSquirrel 16:45, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

The thing always appears. It's not about closing the portals per say, but doing all three events in the allotted time. The thing always appears but, as far as I know, when you succeed it's only an environmental appearance. Not sure if when you fail if you fight it or if it's just the same. When you fail to close the portals and the timer runs out, it moves on to the Champ fight just the same. Confirmed it myself, we did kill the veteran guards and shaman, but left the portals open. Quickfix 06:09, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Solo-able Meta Event[edit]

This meta event, from the first event till the last one, one can solo it all the way. I've already tried with a lvl 80 ele scaled down to lvl 11. It just worked wonders. Paladinofmm 05:40, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Stuck[edit]

This meta event seems to be stuck at the 'investigating the grawl' part, and I think it's been this way since the jan 28th update. Can anyone confirm? 137.224.252.10 13:15, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

It is stuck on many/all servers and has not been fixed with the latest maintenance update. -- Natalie Black User Natalie Black sig.jpg 18:04, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
It's no longer stuck, but the Champion only occasionally appears. Does anyone know the timer for when?
Wow, talk about "thread" necromancy.. Anyway, on the wiki a timer can be found on the World boss page, and search the page text for "Svanir Shaman Chief". In more general terms, use your favourite search engine to look for "guild wars 2 timer" --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 23:40, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Or, er, Kill the Svanir shaman chief to break his control over the ice elementalsnogratUser Snograt signature.png 23:54, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

No timer?[edit]

Shouldn't this meta have a timer like the other boss metas? Daddicus (talk) 02:03, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

The meta itself isn't the boss event. It is present regardless of whether the boss event is active or upcoming. The timer is on the event itself --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 02:35, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Got it! Thanks!!! Daddicus (talk) 22:29, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

Chain starting time correction[edit]

The main article states: "The event chain begins every even hour on a quarter of the hour." which is incorrect, it should read: "on a quarter past the hour." as noted in the Notes section below.

It only starts every even hour in some time zones, it is also likely affected by daylight saving adjustments. For example, it currently occurs at odd hours in my time zone. Is there any point to having this, given that the hour can be odd or even? --Hesione (talk) 21:54, 29 January 2023 (UTC)

Daily Frozen Maw[edit]

The Daily is called "Daily Frozen Maw" and says "Defeat the Champion Svanir Shaman Chief". When I look in the wiki for "Frozen Maw" I get this page which says The Frozen Maw starts at 15 minutes past every hour. But the champion doesn't appear every hour. Maybe this page needs some language to explain that the champion only appears every other hour? I know there is a separate page for that but since Anet themselves call this Daily "Frozen Maw" likely this page is where a lot of player will look. There is a sentence in the Notes area which mentions the champion, but I wonder how many people read the Notes.--Justaplayer (talk) 13:27, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

The intro sentence states this already. —Kvothe (talk) 09:51, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
