Her eyes...[edit]

Does she look like a LOLcat to anyone else? --Rashid 21:41, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

How can she 'look like a lolcat'? lolcats are just pictures of normal cats with captions. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 178.26.163.166 (talkcontribs).
These new characters are quite distinctive. I find it more silly that she is a charr called Rox who wants to join the Stone warband. And please sign your comments. Mediggo 06:44, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
I can't help but think someone hit the wrong slider somewhere, though. Those HUGE eyes freak me out @_@ DashRaptor 14:07, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Rox vs Braham[edit]

Can anyone else confirm that Rox's mission must be completed prior to Braham's in order to get the achievement to continue the plot. Veldakay -Talk -Stuff 19:33, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

I did braham's mission first.--Relyk ~ talk > 19:34, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

There's a full-body picture of Rox against a white background that was posted on a blog post on guildwars2.com :

Can we consider swapping out the current image for this one? :)

Thanks for your time.

Sparkfly Fen Dialogue[edit]

Um. I got different dialogue from her even though I have completed Flame and Frost in it's entirety. I think it might be because I have also completed Jubilee and Chaos. Rox was there too, it would be bit odd if she didn't remember we met after Flame and Frost.. I'll investigate this a little. Rakuin (talk) 10:39, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

I completed Jubilee and put that dialogue up as that's what I got. Her dialogue does change if Tequatl's event fails, but it's only about how Tequatl beat "us." Konig 01:08, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
Yea figured it's not about Jubilee or Scarlet or anything like that, she just doesn't remember ;_;. Next step: get her to talk after Tequila is killed. Rakuin (talk) 09:00, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Is Rox a Gladium?[edit]

While Rox certainly seemed to think she was going to be thrown out of the warband, we haven't actually seen that happene. In Dragon's Reach, Part 1, Rytlock makes it pretty clear that he's acting far more upset at her than he actually is for what he thinks is her benefit.

I don't think she was ever not a gladium. I don't know enough about Charr lore, but I don't think you lose gladium status until you're officially in a new warband. I know she was trying to join the Stone warband (and she apparently received a name, at least temporarily), but AFAIK she was never a full member, and therefore not a gladim, since she failed to kill Scarlet herself (unless I missed something). Rytlock mentions she's a free agent because she's no longer taking orders from Stone (as part of her trials) on how to accomplish her mission. Vahkris (talk) 18:03, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
Rytlock was being pretty clear about her not being part of the warband anymore:
- Player: "You going to punish her for not killing Scarlet?"
- Rytlock: "Nah. I understand why she did it. Besides, she's a free agent now. She and I don't need to see eye to eye anymore."

I don't think that's saying she was part of the Stone warband, but that she's no longer in consideration to join it and therefore can now do what she wants. AFAIK, Scarlet was supposed to be her final test to join the Stone warband, and she failed that and doesn't want to be in the warband anymore. Vahkris (talk) 21:15, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, ehm "anymore" wasn't really supposed to be part of that sentence :) Titus The Third User titus the third.png 21:20, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
Ah, gotcha. :) Vahkris (talk) 21:26, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
If Rytlock considers "free agent" the same a gladium, why didn't he just say gladium? It's like free agent is something different given a lot of Charr running around that are formally in a warband, yet don't see to be acting under any sort of chain of command (including all of the player charr, Rytlock himself, Almorra Soulkeeper and Ember Doomforge, Evon Gnashblade, etc.) Stormy Dragon (talk) 06:38, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
Almorra is a gladium, having chosen to found The Vigil instead of seeking a new warband. Doing this gets her a certain amount of respect from (some of) the charr, even being outside their hierarchy. It's hard to piece together from the little bits and pieces we see of NPC warbands in action, but.... I'd think some of the independence of action in your examples comes from either high rank (Rytlock as Tribune and head of his warband), or from a perception by higher-ups that whatever the task at hand is, it is beneficial to or heightens the reputation of the charr. The player character charr falls somewhere between these... they're head of their own warband, and they are shown answering to higher ranks; but they're ALLOWED agency within the context that they are given permission (or are even expected) to join one of the Orders. Being part of an Order seems to be an allowance for putting the needs of said Order in line with your duties to your Legion. Anyway I haven't said much here of significant value, I've just been pondering (thanks to Rox) about the relative impact of the "gladium" rank on a charr, and also about the fluidity of charr hierarchy. Rytlock was demoted to scrapper (a punishment rank) for abandoning his warband in favour of Destiny's Edge, but his rise to Tribune seems to give him some agency to re-join Destiny's Edge in the personal story. These low-valued ranks seem to be something you can "overcome" (even by distinguishing yourself independently, like Almorra) rather than a permanent designation of shame, like it's sometimes presented as in-game. Rytlock's perception of Rox's decision might reflect this... she should, in traditional Charr standards, join the Stone warband; however, Rytlock acknowledges that with the people like Braham and the player character (regardless of race), Rox is likely to find her "own" respected place in the world. 99.244.230.178 23:38, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
