First Mastery[edit]

The first mastery is wrong.

It's actually something called Enhanced Evasion - "The jackal's movement ability now lets you evade all incoming attacks. Press jump or mount ability 1 to activate the ability."

Sadly I do not know how to edit it, but someone should certainly get to it. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.238.81.199 (talk) at 20:25, 23 September 2017‎ (UTC).

Someone has fixed it. Not me, but someone has. Dragon Hunter(talk) 02:25:31 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Getting there[edit]

You can totally use the (level 0) springer to get onto the stair platform. I had a level 3 springer (so I could see the heart etc) but a level 1 skimmer. I jumped from the closest point, hopped over to near the platform, and then jumped up onto it (with the springer). --Firelizzard (talk) 22:01, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, to get up there, all you need is a lvl 1 springer and skimmer. Just make you way to the spiral stair case on the east side and glide down (guess you will need HoT for that). no real point unless you have lvl 3 on either mounts though--216.36.152.128 22:43, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Lore (Clarification on Tormented Remnants)[edit]

The tormented remnants link in the article links to the Elder Tormented Remnants, which are located in the area. There are also the Tormented Remnants and the Tormented Remnant Dust Devils, which presumably fall into the same group in terms of creation via corruption of the sand by tormented energies from Nightfall. Perhaps the link should go to the regular tormented remnants and the elders should be placed in the See Also section on that page. Alternatively, maybe a catch-all page on the tormented remnants explaining what they are and linking to each of the individual types. Lysander (talk) 15:25, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

Yes. I wrote up the lore section when Torment Remnants did not have an article yet (edited Nov 2017; article made April 2018) and I didn't think of it since I was referencing the area and NPC pages, never referenced that one achievement. I simply optioned Elder over Dust Devil for linking as those were my choices at the time. I changed the link on this article. Konig (talk) 00:08, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
Some of the patterns in their stone shards also resemble those seen in Graven Monoliths. Mith🌟Talk 11:06, 18 October 2018 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

* It is the only mount that can have its eye color changed: when dyed, the glowing part of the runes and its eyes are colored. Not true, you can change the eye color of Springer too, so this seems to be outdated info. --88.196.238.36 11:06, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Unlocking[edit]

You need both mounts at Lv. 3. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rasuicr (talk) at 14:15, 21 June 2020‎ (UTC).

After asking around on the wiki Discord, I haven't been able to verify this information. Multiple sources, including myself when I unlocked this mount about 2 years ago, defend that to unlock the jackal you are only required to have either the springer of the skimmer with their tier 3 mastery trained. Do you have evidence that supports your claim of requiring both the springer and the skimmer with their tier 3 masteries trained?

Blink[edit]

The jackal is also unique in that it can change direction during the blink. --67.161.23.208 22:39, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
